I dont think violence in video game has anything to do with a kid goin to his school with a gun or being a bully i think it has to do more with his home life and other stuff. so i guess they will have to take violence of of the new out of movies cause there is more violence going on in them then there is in most video games

For future reference, please use better grammar in your posts.

anyway, yeah, personal/home life is typically what it comes down to, and movies, I believe, are more likely to cause problems than video games

I say no, because what it really comes down to is the same principle for guns. As in, video games don't kill people, people do. Violence in video games may desensitize us, but in order for someone to kill someone else, they either have to have a reason, such as revenge or something like that, or something has to be wrong with their brain chemistry such as with sociopaths. In addition, aggression is not the same as violence, which is what video games affect, and video game violence would only increase aggression if it was already there. Finally, it really depends on the person and their ability to separate reality from fantasy.

I vote yes because the more violent video games you play the more accustomed you get to the violence, and especially when your younger you want to imitate it.

Yeah, but that happens a lot with non-caring parents. They don't care what the kid does, so they let him/her do whatever they want, and they just copy what they see in video games and T.V.

Children are impressionable, but it will take far more than some violent video games to turn them into killers. Teen and adult gamers should just plain know better anyways.

Though the thing is that that isn't really specifically video game related because plenty of things can frustrate people enough to want to lash out...

If you're some psycho who's gonna commit a school shooting, they're going to cause trouble, no doubt.

To the majority though, I'd say they're pretty harmless.

i think that this is absurd. everything we have learned from birth does not evaporate the moment we pick up our first extremely violent video game. all the morals, all the right and wrong does not evaporate from killing on god of war, hitman, or any other game for that matter. sure, i will admit, some games have overdone it, putting in way too much violence, more than necessary. i see it as we should protect young gamers from m rated games not as much as a national security issue, but more of a censorship one, just like r rated movies, and vulgar music.

I blame Al Gore for violent video games

Really though it is absurb to blame a childs violent nature on video games, when it was their surrounding environment that was the originating cause.

you are generalizing far too much... especially since video games would be part of their surrounding environment.

I have come across studies of behavior that are starting to suggest that the viewing of violent media and "expressions of anger" don't relieve anger but actually increase the likelihood of violence and anger.

Now, every person is different and is affected differently by media. Not everyone who plays a violent video game will all of a sudden shoot someone because of that game. But I do think there is at least some influence. And when you combine violent media with a child that has no support structure in the family or community then you make it far more likely to have a violent person as a result.

games don't tell people to kill people.
game don't put the gun in there hand and tell them to shoot people.
only one thing makes someone want to kill someone else there own crazy mind.

If someone thinks that or believe that a video game made a kid shoot up a high school or thinks that game contributed to the aid of him killing those people are wrong.

If there was any proof the won't allow these games to be sold.
the sad part is this human nature we are more violet then any video game company can produce. humans are more scarier then ur worst nightmares.
The things some crazy ass psychopathic maniacs think of u can't even put into a game u can't put into a movie cause to damn sick twist perverted disgusting and scary.
Go to bar u see a fight beer bottles chair what not.
UFC all fighting all the time two men beat each other sense less for pay check.
almost all the show on TV got violence.
ur worried about violence in video games. TV alone is worst then any game for violence and movies.
how crime shows on everyday that's dealing with murder's and worst.
a study actually shown that play violent games actually has antecedence of reducing crazy and shoot everyone cause video games is way to let out frustrations to escape from the real world allow people to d stress from there heck life and get back to there normal self's.
Real life is 1000x more violent then games.
i can go on but this getting little long.
