Heh, I guess it's because everyone is starting to get sick of violence and the moment they see one act of it, it's like "OMG! See! It's those dang video games!" the only difference between then and now is that people have video games to blame! Hah, whether people blame them or not...they aren't gonna stop makin' them, so let them whine I say.

I wish there was a rule in court where, "LAWLS! I SHOT 47 COPS, RAN OVER THEIR DEAD CORPSES WITH THEIR OWN CRUISERS AND LIT FIVE HOOKERS ON FIRE AFTER I DID THEM BECAUSE GRAND THEFT AUTO TOLD ME TO DO IT" would just automatically make you get convicted of the crimes you did. How Misinformed Australia Is About Video Games

I watched it and I agree with the last audience member that spoke about it and they should let people choose the type of entertainment that they want. Grown adults can't even choose, that isn't right. People have the right to make them, so people should have the right to play them. They do have ratings so it does restrict it to the younger ages where you are easily influenced but Austrailia is holding it from grown people? That's wrong.

All I can say, is that a kid with an IQ below -5 playing GTA might be a problem. For all the non-idiots, it should be fine.

Cookieman, yeh, there holding it from grown people because we dont have the R18+ rating. People who govern the law proably google R18+ games and just find hentai galore or something.

Jack Thompson is a toss-pot. He doesn't know sh!t. I've played video games through my entire childhood, teenage years and through my early twenties (I'm 26 now). I've never gone out robbing cars, or murdered somebody or stolen anything or done anything bad to anybody. Yet I love playing GTA and all violent games like that. If I ever see Jack Thompson, he is gonna get some beat down from me. I'll b**** slap some common sense into him. Just cos somebody who happens to play video games, goes on a murder rampage, it's 'obvious' the video games or music made him do it. What a load of bull? IT'S THE PERSON. Maybe he was being bullied and he just had enough. Those psychologists and media f***€r$ never report that.

Ha, I just found it funny how Lee Snowflake and iBOCK both wish violent things upon Jack Thompson because violent video games dont make a person do bad things...It's funny.

But I do agree with Lee Snowflake about the fact that someone that goes on a murdering rampage happens to play violent video games, so people blame the video games not considering the other variables in life that can make someone do that, just like Lee Snowflake stated, it's can also be someone who has been bullied or treated bad. It's not video games alone. People get involved with movies too, so they should be to blame too but they won't fight to have movies banned.

The people that make the judgement on video games and their influence, I believe, are the older people that really didn't grow up with video games, to them it was invented and whatever. And if it was a young person that thought that video games influenced bad behavior, they most likely got their facts from the same older people.

Parents need to stop being so stupid. Drugs are WAY worse than games. If they frigging read the little letter on front of EVERY GAME BOX ON EARTH, they will realize that the E is for children, and the T is for their teenage kids, and M is for adults. How hard is that?

The earlier you learn about violence and accept that it is always around us and always will be, the better. I grew up around violence playing violent games, watching violent movies, listening to violent music. It's all media for crying out loud, media is entertainment it gives you something to do. Killing in a video game is a lot better then in real life, so why they complain is beyond me.

Hey, the kids who kill people because of video games have their parents to blame. Why kids who can barely read or tie their shoes think GTA is real life isn't much of a surprise. Once they understand reality at age 5 (depending on the kid), they should be fine

A child UNDER 5, or even under 10 SHOULDN'T be playing games like GTA4. I doubt that a 5-10 year old will jump into a car and then go run people down but games like that just aren't suitable for them.. just like letting a 10 year old watch a horror movie, that s*** will change them... but thats not the movies fault. Thats the lack of discipline by their parent.

Exactly. It's not really the products that messes up the child, it's the parents being idiots and thinking, 'hey, my kid can play GTA4 even though she's 6, it'll distract her for a couple hours while I go cheat on my spouse or something!'
