In all seriousness, here's my two cents:

The end of the world would literally mean the destruction of the planet, as in either boom, or ZERO resources.

People are resourceful, and will keep on going no matter what. There was the Ice Age. We survived that. There was the Little Ice Age. We survived that, but Greenland became a frozen wasteland, and Iceland became a nice place.

Trees only filter between 10-20% of air. It's grass and plankton that filter most of the air of greenhouse gasses. Don't pollute the ocean, take care of your lawn, and be careful of what you flush down the toilet, whether you have a septic tank or sewer.

Chuck Norris facts. Cute. If they were true, no one would be around to tell them, though.

Well, if the ocean heats up then it will throw off that ecosystem. Personally I think that...what is it the Reefs? It will effect them and I'm guessing they are the bottom of the food chain- yet very important - if those die then everything just falls apart from the bottom up. I dunno, I don't know much about it. So i'm gonna shut up now...hah

But what is it with Chuck Norris, he doesn't impress me. I think Blade and Riddick or even Rambo are better. Those three are bomb. Chuck Norris is old...and wrinkly and...old...I wonder how many people will go to his funeral when he dies. AND YES! HE WILL DIE! YOU NORRIS LOVERS HAVE TO ACCEPT THAT!

I want to go back to that Big Rip theory stated a lot earlier in this thread. It states that everything will expand indefinately to the point that of which atoms will even come apart.

I personally don't believe in that theory. The theory I believe in is that the Universe will recycle itself.

Think of it. "The Big Bang", everything was together and it exploded and things started to be created, universes and such. Because of gravity everything came together. How did everything come together in the first places? I think it's happened once before. Where it's exploded. Yes everything is expanding, but I believe it will all come together again. I mean, yeah everything is pretty dang far, but think of it from the Universes' point of view, that isn't that far for the univervse because ...it is the universe. So, I think that everything will just recycle. Just because the Earth will end someday doesn't mean the Universe will.

I still stick with the string theory :]

It's basically a theory of how there are multiple universes that are like cells and membranes, like we're all cells of a bigger body.

It's not that it's an unstable theory, but it's just that this and many other theories are so confusing that they'll make your brain hurt.

String theory basically means there are little threads that connect our universe with an unlimited amount of alternate ones, and each universe is roughly 10,000 galaxies each, and ever expanding.

But yeah, if this world ends there's plenty left, even though most of the 10,000 galaxies in this expanding universe is just empty space.

So in a way, if someone were able to find out how to travel to alternate ones, you can? But there isn't really a place that says, Enter here. I dunno, it's still confusing. I don't understand the significance of having these alternate universes unless there is something greater out there to make the String Theories ideals have reason for existance...I dunno, the subject has got my head spinning. Sorry for my ignorance.

I just have one thing to say about the alternate universe and alternate universe life theories.

Anyways, If the world ends, It'd be hard to reach one of those galaxies, considering how far away they are...
