I have a gmail because it had a gig and I had an invite that I won from someone in a swordfight in a bar tournament. You'd have to have been there. But I also have a POP3 account that I just got for christmas so I have thunderbird and firefox and those are my faves. =)

I have a system job to automatically get my mail every 3 minutes from a server and have it on my system, so no more than a few kb of mail is EVER taken up on that server and only about 4MB locally.

Who the hell needs a gig of mail space? If I ever need to check my mail from someone else's box, I just ssh into my box and check.
