I like Daisy the best. She's so much better than Peach.  Think about it, she only had to be rescued from Donkey Kong four times. Peach is dumb enough to get captured again and again and again. How many times has she been captured now? Daisy was smart enough to run away and never get caught again.

Plus she looks better with her brown hair and yellow dress.

For me, it would have to be the Princess. Especially, in Super Mario 2 for NES. She is the only character that can float through the air for an extended period of time and is easiest to control, in addition to being able to jump pretty high.

I agree with DARKANINE. Geno is tops in Mario games. It is a shame we didn't get to see him make a return in the world of Mario. Come on, he is a being from above who takes the body of a BA looking doll and turns his arms into freaking guns. He can turn into a cannon and shoot a powerful blast. He had an ability where if you did a timed hit at the right moment, you hear an explosion and it deals the highest possible damage to the enemy, instantly killing them. He is awesome. 

EDIT: I will be closing this simply because there are 2 "favorite Mario character" threads, and the other one is getting a lot more activity (and this one hasn't had anything for months.
