Mine would be based on water, with a gym puzzle which features freezing water to make bridges and then thawing the ice to make an area flood.

My team would be: Kingdra 39, Walrein 40, Pelipper 40, Wailord 40 and a Blastoise 43. All knows Ice type moves except wailord.

If I had to have just one type, I would say Dragon type. My team would have moves from all the main types that they can have, and I would make sure that they are fast.

Instead of a type my gym would be based on inflicting status conditions. So the team would have 1 Fire type(Burn), 1 Electric type(Paralysis), 1 Ghost(Sleep,Confusion),1 Ice(Frozen), 1 Bug type(Poison) and 1 Dark(Flinch).

Definitely fire Pokemon. I love fire Pokemon, because they are really powerful, but also very difficult to train. Although once you get to a high enough level, then they will know moves that can basically one hit kill you. Fire Pokemon's weaknesses are only water and ground type moves. This proves very useful, because not that many people choose to fight with water or ground moves. I barely raise ground moves. Water is more likely to be trained, however, if my fire Pokemon also know fighting moves, then there is a good chance that I could kick some major booty in my gym.

If I was a gym leader I would choose dragon pokemon becuase then in Pokemon Heart Gold and Pokemon Soul Silver I would be the eighth and final gym leader like Claire (is that her name?). I choose dragon type because they are the most strongest type out there (well there is also fire) and then I could pwn everybody like KA-BOOM!!!! And I would also be killing /knocking out everybody with one hit kills.

I think I would go for a dark theme if I was to ever open my own Pokémon Gym. Figuratively speaking of course.
