I think the first rated R game that I played was Mortal Combat for Sega when I was a little kid. Or I think it was another similar game for Sega...I can't quite remember since it has been so many years, but I'm sure it was Mortal Combat.

Hmm.. it was a long time ago, but if I remember correctly, it was Mortal Kombat for the Genesis. It was a bloodbath; and I remember thoroughly enjoying it. I accidentally performed a fatality with Kano (the one where he tears the heart out) and was in awe.

When I first played it, however, I remember thinking "this game isn't so violent"... until I entered the blood code lol

The game would have to be resident evil at 7 or 8 years old on the 64 as far as I can remember. I wasn't so much bothered by the blood as the d*mn zombies jumping through the windows at just the right time to scare you to death. I remember it taking me along time to beat as well.

I think my first was also mortal combat. My cousin was a couple of years older than me and we would play it at his house.

Conker's Bad Fur Day for the N64. I played it on an emulator, because, I don't have an N64. Since I don't really play 17+ rated games, and I just go up to T rated games, I'm pretty sure this is my first one.

I think mine was Xenogears even though at the time it had no rating.

There was nudity, violence, drugs, and sex in it.  So I think that counts as a mature video game?

I think the first game that was rated M for me was a mistake on my part. I bought Family Guy: The Game, and neither did my parents or I knew that it was M for mature.

Pretty sure it was MK on snes. The next ones I remember are Perfect Dark and Conkers Bad fur day. I remember my parents didn't even realize conker was rated M. They assumed it was appropriate because Conker was a Squirrel. I loved that game!

The first M-rated game I played was a Grand Theft Auto game. My uncle owned one and made me try and play the game when I was eight years old... I was only okay with it. It's not the type of game I want to replay though.

I'm pretty sure it was Turok: Dinosaur Hunter on N64.  It is possible it was something on Sega Genesis, but I can't remember.  However, I bet It would have been DOOM, had it been rated at all.

My first M rated game was GTA on a Play Station console. I had just turned 10 so I was really young in retrospect. I only played it once and then didn't play it for almost five years afterward. Depending on whether the status of consoles will be in my college dorm, I may or may not buy the newest GTA this fall.

I do believe the very first mature rated video game I had played must have had been Mortal Kombat. Considering I had constantly watch my cousin play it, he had intrigued into it. Although, whenever I had watched him play, I demanded that he would have the blood and gore deactivated. Haha! Anyways, I del believe the very first mature rated video game I had played must have had been Mortal Kombat.

The first M-rated game I played was Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, notably, the remake they did on Dreamcast. I didn't even care about the blood and guts and whatever, and I honestly thought it was rated M because you couldn't have understood what the Hell anyone was saying without a high-school education, what with all the Elizabethan dialogue. Seriously, just watch the intro, and tell me that the vocabulary doesn't just make you shiver. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFiLNc46jAM

The first game that I played that had an M rating was Call Of Duty: Black Ops at a friends house. I didn't do the best, but now after only a few days, I have gotten pretty good at the game. It is just a skill for me. I am just good at playing shooter games.
