I had a HUGE crush on this guy since 6th grade but we were friends since Kindergarden-- I didn't want to make our friendship awkward by saying something (just in case he didn't like me that way)... Well, there were plenty of girls I fancied in school, but none that I ever "Loved". Honestly I don't think that people are capable of actual love until they've been out of public school for a while and lived on their own and gotten to know themselves. That is not to say that liking someone when you're young can't turn into that, I just don't think people that young really know themselves.

Fancied, most certainly. I think I was far from alone in that particular regard. However loved...it is difficult to ascert for sure in hindsight. There was one case I am very unsure about, whereas all the others were flying fancies there was one particular lady that never seemed to quite fit that definition. I could make the assumption that I "loved" her, but as I am unsure if O completely forgotten, I can't accurately say if it is love, or a somewhat insistent infatuation. 

I do suppose the reason I'm unsure is that I never once had the opportunity to tell her how I really felt, so I'm unsure if its just a bit of a biiter infatuation leftover or if was genuine.
