Families are beautiful things, but sometimes sadness occurrs too, my dads brother got ill over christmas several years back, it was a sad time and bought the family together for all the wrng reasons, his mum's sister our great aunt was a real source of strength.

I honestly can't remember a time where I got sad news over Christmas. I know things have happened to make me sad, but no news or anything like that.

That my cousin had cancer, received the news last Christmas.

Nope, typically Christmas is the best time of the year. The worst to ever happen was last year, was when my brain damaged uncle came back and ran away after a fight with my aunt. We found him in a homeless shelter the morning after.

Totts : The holidays have not always been the easiest time in my family… I had a great grandfather die on Christmas Eve suddenly back in the 70s and I never knew him and, just a few years ago I lost my grandfather about a week before Christmas. Besides the obvious pain of losing someone close to me it was especially hard because we lived together.

Even with a few years having gone by now every now and then I’ll still catch myself either wanting to talk to him or, thinking he’s in his room etc. It isn’t easy but I try and tell myself in times like that, that he isn’t suffering anymore (He had cancer) and is watching over all of us.

In a year that has been difficult for me on a couple of levels that has been comforting.

Not that I know of.  I hope not when I was a child.

Never, but I did receive bad news while I was at Disneyland...

My Uncle died in a scuba accident =( I was 7 at the time, and I remember seeing my mom cry in middle of the lane to Indiana Jones park ride.

I wouldn't say I got it as news, but my dog did try to kill himself once. He ate a whole bucket of gum (one of those little 60 pack buckets). It was sugar free gum and the artificial sweetener in it is poisonous to dogs. 3 pieces should have killed him, but he ate 60 and lived.

The only thing that comes to mind is a couple days after leaving a big Xmas party at my parent's house, my cousin died in a car accident. I didn't know really know him (I'd only seen him once or twice at family things, and we never spoke), but before I was born he spent a lot of times at my parent's house. I remember at the funeral they played "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi, and it was the first time I can recall ever seeing my dad cry...

Its not really got anything to do with family, but this girl that i really love, said she just wanted to be friends last Christmas... Still getting over the heartbrake 

I really didn't get sad news on Christmas. I just seen Santa Clause kissing my momma. So I hit with a baseball bat. Then I found out Santa was my father, to there is no Santa.

Well my sister's first christmas in 07 her biological mom's exhusband gave us a call saying he wanted my sister as his child. Well my step mom and I just sat their in the living room crying and looking at all the christmas stuff for my little sister...

That day we called the lawyer and he gave us the good news that since the guy is not my little sister's biological father he has no right to her. So we got to keep her!

Yeah my great grandma died on christmas. :/

My cat Adison was put down on Christmas Eve. I was told on Christmas.

During Christmas, I have had the saddest news in the world.(To me, anyway.) On Christmas Eve, about two years ago, my most best friend for almost six and a half years committed suicide. This wouldn't have hurt as much as it did, if he wouldn't have left a note. The note read(and I have this memorized. Well more like engraved into my head.)"Dear Joey, I have loved you since the day we met. I loved you even more then "like a brother." I wanted to be with you for the rest of our lives. I always thought you were the one for me, and no one else in the world would tear that dream apart. I now leave your life, as you left mine. I love you, Joseph Comer, and I want you to remember me, and the good times we had back then. I can't keep on living like this, I feel like I am living a lie. I love you, and will miss you. I will now, forevermore, be spending my eternity, in heaven, were my dream of us being together would finally come true.

Nope I never have sad news on Christmas, and hope that will stay that way for the rest of my life. Cause I don't want to know that someone I know is really ill or die on a holiday that is to spend time with your family.
