Here is another one from me. This is for the ecology fans out there. You will find the highest variety of species (plant or animal. Depends on the place you are talking about) in areas that experience intermediate disturbance. In locations of low disturbance, only the ones that are the best competitors survive. In areas of high levels of disturbance, the species that have the highest adaptability are the survivors. However, areas that are right in between have a combination of good competitors and adaptable life, meaning there is a higher species diversity.

Lazlo Falconi : It's not that copy and pasting is not allowed, it is when it is a fairly long post that is a copy paste. It is just a way from keeping users copy and pasting large amounts of stuff from other sites to increase word counts. Before, the only thing that really couldn't be copy and paste was game reviews because it is trying to pass it off as their own, and we don't allow plagiarism. But the post experience is a very new thing, so now it is kind of an everywhere thing. That's all

Saturn can float on pool water. I'm surprised that this is even possible, but it can happen.

pacman1755 : Well, mathematically it could float on a pool of water that was at sea-level pressure on Earth with an atmosphere exactly like Earth's above it. However, you'd have a pretty hard time finding a large enough pool of water to float Saturn in that had the same density as an Earth sea!

Well, I think I have a good amount of facts now.

The Vehicle Assembly Building at NASA's Kennedy Space Center is so large that rain clouds form inside it.
VAB, for short, was used from 1968 to 2011 to build and store American space vehicles. By volume it is one of the largest buildings in the world, at 3,664,883 cubic meters. Additionally, it is the largest single story building in the world, and until 1974 was the tallest building in Florida.Today, it is the tallest building in the US outside of urbanized cities like New York and Cincinnati. The VAB completed its construction in 1966 and was first used to build the Saturn V rocket for the Apollo program.
After that it was used for housing Space Shuttle fuel tanks and other flight hardware, and served as a place where Space Shuttle orbiters were attached to rocket boosters. At 526 feet tall, 716 feet long, and 518 feet wide, it covers 8 acres of land. At such a size, on very humid days the building has its own weather, with rain clouds forming below the ceiling.
The building has a moisture reduction system to mitigate this problem, though. What’s odd is that the building is made to withstand hurricanes and tropical storms, but weather still appears inside it.

CC23 : This is a random science fact thread. Please post random science facts. Anyone who knows why the Mayan calendar ended on 2012 knows it wasn't predicting the end of the world. That is a history fact, not science.

Modern Science is finding that leaches and maggots can both be helpful in modern medicine.  Many species of maggots will only ingest dead flesh and as such can help people with necrotic bacterial infections like gangrene and help to prevent the need of amputations.  Leaches can restore blood to reattached limbs and digits more effectively than any other mechanical method currently used.  Scary insects might one day help you live a better, longer life!
