Updating this a bit. Last year I lost another great uncle and my grandmother on my dad's side. We were flown out to California for my grandmother's funeral and I was one of the three grandkids that gave a eulogy. It is still really hard to accept that she is gone.

Um, let me think... My uncle and cousin were killed in a car accident by a drunk driver, my great grandfather on my Mom's side passed a few years ago, right after my grandfather died on my dad's side. So... right of the top of my head? I can only think of 4, and I miss them all very much.

I've lost one family member(s) last year. He died a natural death. He was a relative. The extremely sad occurrence is my father passed away six month before my mother had given birth to me. He died in a automobile accident. I occasionally sob about that.

I am truly sorry for your losses. I, myself have lost quite a few family members, one recently. My Great Grandmother whom I was very close with passed away last week... truly heartbreaking. Other than that, I have lost 3 other family members that I know of. We are a very small family that doesn't really stay connected to our extended family, so I don't know of anyone outside of that. I thankfully haven't lost anyone to suicide or drug abuse, but I am concerned about losing my mother to those things. Again, I am sorry to hear about your losses. I hope you have given yourself all the time you need to grieve.

There are 6 people who have died during my lifetime which is kinda sad because I knew them all. My Great Grand Parents died of old age so thats 2. I haven't lost any immediate family, but both my grandfathers died, my uncle got hit by a train, and my step brother got killed in a gang fight.  So nothing of an extremely awful nature has happened to my family, and hopefully it remains that way for quite some time.

The last person I lost was my grand mother and she was my dad's mother. I was so sad to lose her and losing her made an big change in my family because my dad was never the same. He started to drink and smoke after she passed away. He had made an mess of himself but I'm glad he has recovered from this even though it took him about 5 to 7 years to do so. If my mom passed away ( god forbid ) I would be the same way. It would take me a long time to recover. I'm not sure if I would change and start smoking and drinking like my father did.

Just thinking about this makes me wish that life was an forever lasting thing ..

So far the only people that die in my family is three of my grandparents (never met those three grandparents). My dad told me that they because of war or the by the ruthless leader that took over Cambodia during that time. I want to meet them to see what they are like.

Well, sadly my family (moms side) is in another country, and I haven't met any of them (except a few). But I do know that my sister died of Leukemia, I think maybe 2 uncles killed, some cousins killed too, and great grandma died of age.

Too many for my liking but luckily I was too young to properly understand at the time as I was under eight when they all happened. Four members (six if you include my two pets who I loved like family as they were 16 and 18) all died from cancer, it seemed as though one person developed it as the previous person died from it, and another member of my family had a  stroke but luckily they survived, but I do not know about my dad's side as I have never met him (nor do I want to after I heard about what they was like from my mom but I would prefer not to talk about that)
