I would have to say both, i played Runescape for awhile and then actually stopped playing it on my birthday, because my brother had bought me WoW, my parents bought me my computer, and my sister "somehow" knew to get me Game time cards, so i was pretty set up, but yeah i think both are good games.

I have played both but soon got bored of them, think i reached level 30 on WOW then decided to quit, got pretty far on Runescape but the graphics and controls put me off

I too started out playing Runescape. I was even a member for awhile, still have the account too. lol I then played Maplestory, and Gunz the Duel. I like em all though - LOTR Online, GAIA, and whatever else. They are all pretty entertaining.

For me personally, I have to say the old school rs. I am talking about before high definition Runescape, because I have a lot of nostalgic memories from those days. I still visit the site, and still logs in, but no longer do I powerlevel trying to get a 99. if I was able to get membership, however, I would resume my playing for at the least a few months, but up to this post I have been pure f2p.

World of Warcraft I never played for a long time because I only played it at a friend's and watched. It loos visually nice, and it is massive but I don't like how it ultimately revolves around player vs player instances.

Having only played Runescape I guess I can only vote for it. I stopped playing around level 110, it just got to tedious to level up and nothing really interested me anymore. It was somewhere around burning hours on end for 99 woodcutting that I decided to quit. Always found castle wars fun to play though. 

With that said, here's an awesome mmorpg everyone would love. (This pic always makes me laugh)

After losing 5 accounts on runescape to hackers, and getting bored of doing the same old thing I switched to World of Warcraft, although I don't play either anymore.

People that play World of Warcraft at least seem to know what they're talking about. I just don't like how you have to pay for the former game after a while.
