I live on the east side of the US and the farthest I've been is Japan -- takes about 14 hours on the plane. Considering the end result, I don't mind going the distance.

I've been across the US from Alabama to Blackfoot, Idaho (The potato capital of the world!), and that's about the farthest I've gone. I love the Arctic Circle's fries and sauce. Those who live out there know what I'm talking about.

The farthest place I've been in the world from where I am now which is New York City is Santiago, Chile. I just went this decemeber for a month to visit family members which I haven't seen since about 11 years ago. 13 hour plane ride to get there and back...ugh MAJOR bummer but worth it.
