I started playing Pokemon crystal a couple of years and I am kind of getting my grove back but I'm still a little noobish. I got to the part with the odd egg. I plan to keep hatching until I get a shiny Elekid but i have a few, probably stupid, questions.

1. About how many steps does it take to hatch an odd egg?
2.Does bicycle count as steps?
3.What are good paths I walk on where I can get alot of steps w/o Pokemon battles?
4. Do steps count in you are just walking into a wall? (I have a wireless keyboard and i can just hold down on a key while i watch t.v.)
5.My friend told me a shinny elekid is the best but should I try to hatch another shinny Pokemon?
