In my opinion, homosexuality is not natural, and I would compare being homosexual to having a porn addiction. So, kind of a choice, but more an addiction.

I think that's actually a really unfair description of homosexuality. These aren't all sex crazed maniacs running around looking for their next "hit". A lot of homosexuals are in serious committed relationships.

he might mean that... but I don't think that is the case for a lot of them. I don't think it's just "lust". That's too simplistic of a reason to explain the thousands (or millions) of homosexuals out there.

I think the bible is pretty clear that homosexuality is a "shameful lust". Lust is usually a bond similar to love but distorted. Love is bond very strong.

Stop basing everything you say on Christianity - think for yourself. And either way, make an argument, not a statement.

A man who loves a man = Lust

That is a pretty unfair justification. If someone is not allowed to choose who they love, then they might as well let their parents pick out someone for them to love kinda like in the movie Coming to America.

Intimate love requires lust, if both people lust each other they love each other if not then its not really love is it. Lust keeps them together not the other way around unless one of them stops having lust.

The funny thing about it all is 2 wrongs make a right? If two people can love and lust one another then that means anyone who lusts one another are not really sinning. If you rape someone that would be sinning cause they don't love you. That means homos have the same right as you when your lusting.

You can't call homos lusters when your mom and dad lusted each other to make you or that would make everyone a lusting sinner, or in other words a hypocrite.

Love does not require lust, it requires friendship. Lust is not love, it is an evil corruption that destroys relationships.

Hoochman : All I'm saying is that this isn't a Christian topic, so people are going to be more inclined to listen to you and accept your argument when you do more than just quote the Bible, which is what you did. If you do think for yourself rather than just quoting the Bible, you'll have rational arguments to back your beliefs up, thus making not only yourself but the Bible more credible.

Really, if anyone should know this it would be me, because I was just about your age when I started speaking out against stuff in God's name, and let me tell you quoting the Bible does nothing to support an argument unless someone explicitly asks you to back up what you're saying by doing so.

I'm not being critical, I'm just making the observation that everyone is quicker to dismiss you as soon as you do something like "the Bible says" or "according to the Bible" without having a secondary source to back it up. This is something important that you have to know if you plan on having debates like this.

Hoochman : I happen to know a person who is gay, that had serious relationships and has been hurt by his partner and hasn't had a relationship since. if it was really just lust, that wouldn't happen. I don't think Homosexuality is a choice, i have seen a lot of problems caused for people that are gay and come out, i can't imagine anyone choosing to go thru that.

Lust isn't a choice either. So homosexuality fits.

I know a few, yes everybody has lust issues, and with the gays I know its all about lust. And after hearing accounts of former homosexuals it is pretty clear from what is said that it is only a compulsion, nothing more.

So because you know a FEW gay people, and know SOME people who don't date same gender people anymore, and they happen to lust, that means that all it is about is lust? I guarantee you that there are a lot of gay people who love each other, some more than some straight couples.

Honestly you can't say that homosexuality is natural. I don't care if someone is gay or not, but if a homosexual can say that their preference is natural then can't a pedophile say that their love for children is natural and not a choice.

chugchu : There is a GIANT difference. when 2 CONSENTING adults have a relationship that is fine, when an adult FORCES a child to that is horrible. The 2 are nothing a like at all.

metal572 : Yes, the kids aren't consenting, and I hate pedophiles. But if gays can say they are genetically designed to have a sexual preference to the same sex, then pedophiles can say they're genetically designed to be attracted to children. Not that I'm backing up pedophiles but it's the same damn thing. Everyone has a choice to like what they do or don't and a choice for every action or anything they do in life. It's like when sex addicts say they don't have a choice, but they clearly do. Or people with "OCD", they can choose to stop it anytime they want, I've watched them. The only people who can't make every choice clearly are mentally handicapped people.
