So that makes Israel just a little smaller than Vermont, whos population is only 608,827.

Israel has been in a war for ages. Just look at the garza strip thing... May not be a big war, but its still there.

Well, for a bunch of Jews, in the middle of the desert, in a tiny country, sorrounded by ppl that hate them. They have a very efficent fighting force.

They got 4000+ tanks. The whole Aus army would have like that much, or maby double...

But still, you look at US's money backing, and research possible, compaired to israels. Not sayn israel is better than US or anythen, but I think for a tiny countrie, there fairly good.

If Israel took two Palastinian troops hostage do you think that there would be talks over their release? Probably not. I think Israel took it so seriously because it was a terrorist cell and not a country.

Well, looks like Israel is gathering there forces along lebanons southern border. Sources say that there preparing for 1 large assult, to try and finish Hamas (spelling probably wrong). Even on the way there, Hamas is using gariller tactics, and taking out some tanks.

I hadn't heard much new about it today. That's probably a move Israel feels it has to make. The group keeps putting military units in civilian areas, which Israel attacks and ends up killing innocents, which makes people less sympathetic.
