And Zelda games have two points on average: save Zelda, and stop Ganon (or Vaati or whoever the villain is) from destroying the world/getting the Triforce. So just have the scenario of Ganon killing Link and -Zelda- having to stop Ganon from taking over instead of making it Link's job like we always do...

That's how I feel. Zelda doesn't really fit the role of heroine like Link fits the role of Hero. They're just different. Now I don't mind having Zelda playable in certain scenes or as a multiplayer character, but give her the main role? I mean c'mon, if she were that good of a fighter, then why does she get kidnapped all the time?

link but Zelda is cool too,she uses a lot of magic,but Link should be the main character.Zelda is sometimes better like in Super Smash Bros. Brawl but that's just my opinion.Link uses swords,arrows,and magic that's why i choose Link.But when Zelda turns into Sheik she's better.

Jokes aside. I'd say make a game where Zelda becomes a playable character on the side. Like from Ocarina of Time when she was Sheik, why would she just run away if she could become Sheik, go to Link, help him with some stuff and what not. I mean thats just stupid. But still Zelda deserves a little more of the spot light

You are one silly goose I have to say. And Yes I do know whom is whom. It was meant to be like that. I figured out mid game[back when I was like 10 or so] That Link was the one with Naavi[who's name I didn't know till much much later on] and that Zelda was the helpless princess.

On topic: The game is called Legend of Zelda but Zelda does almost nothing in many of the games. So Link is by default the main character. I don't like that but eh what can you do?

Link! Of all the characters there I would rather it be Link than Zelda... But of course, I have not played too many of the games...

We should have zelda players catelogy each game experience and a few chosen members will look over the data to see the proper hero/heroine of the game series is. It seems only logical.

Link for sure.Anyone remember the CD-I games?Zelda was the main character and well,that was a memory even Nintendo wants to suppress.I think it's a good question,but whats better then the kid/teenager/soon to be young adult in the new Zelda that saved several Zeldas in different incarnations.I mean a rapier and some magic powers is good,but the master sword,bombs,and starting off as a son of a regular village man in lots of games then escalating into a legend!Sign me up!By the way,how many of you can say you saved the world in the past,future,and the land of Termina when you were a kid.Zelda 2 is like Sleeping Beauty.People might have not liked it as much if the prince had to be saved.I finish by saying Zelda can handle herself and fight with Link like in Spirit Tracks and the end of Twilight Princess and the future as a player 2 or second to play as character does look bright.This makes me agree a lot with Kahelofdoom.

In the old Zelda titles, Zelda hasn't been able to do much, meanwhile, in the more newer games, she's been getting to do more stuff, and quite obviously, getting actually stronger! The Brawl counter part of Twilight Princess shows just how powerful she can be, and, just for an interesting touch, I think with how she's becoming more and more helpful, I think a character select may very well become available.

I can picture that Zelda not being helpless, and actually becomes playable along with Link, and you can play as either or from the get go, but would have to play as them both in order to unlock the final mode where you switch off between the two.

Too me, I think being able to play as both Link and Zelda,(Where she is still alive, and not a spirit.) would be awesome, so long as they get equal items. Though different enough, but you can tell which item would be what if they were the other. With maybe one or two operating differences.

That's a really cool idea. I wanted to pitch my own ideas, but I figured people would steal them. (It's honestly happened before, lets just say the DS was created off a scrap I drew like 7 years ago...)

zelda was playable in zeldas quest and it sucked nearly as bad as the oter cd1 zelda games, so guess who i vote for!




a castlevania style charachter switch might be nice tho

The title of the games confused me before I actually played it. I was like, "Wait, are you playing as Zelda or what?" And my friend thought I was a total newb. Haha.

I can't really decide. Like BTowns said, within the current games, what would Zelda even be doing? But if they switched it around and made a newer game where you could play as Zelda, or alternating Zelda and Link (like mentioned above), I would be totally down with that.

I would have to say Link, though I wouldn't mind playing Zelda.

Link definitely deserves to be the main character. I mean really, who wants to play a game as Zelda waiting in a tower to be rescued? Wouldn't be much of a game. Haha

Link, I never thought about this but the game is mostly based off of LINK. Yet the names of the games are "Zelda____". I love the old Zelda and the wind waker game. That was a very fun and addicting game. I still play it up to this day. I don't have anything against zelda. I just think link is more of the important character in the games.
