It's been going on for about a year, lot's of speculation and reports that Metal Gear Solid will be returning, with some recent leaks showing that the game is a part of Konami's fiscal calendar, meaning we'll be seeing an announcement by the end of March. Also, there have been numerous LinkedIn profiles that may have given away the existence of a Metal Gear Solid remake, all tied back to Bluepoint Games, the developers of the original Metal Gear Solid HD remaster collection, the PS4 Shadow of the Colossus remake which people seem to love, and the newest remake of Demon's Souls, which looks to have plenty of love behind it. The problem is, this company has been acquired by Sony, meaning they'd be funding the project and it would almost certainly be exclusive to the PS5. A lot of these same leaks report remasters of other titles in the series alongside this remake.
Also, when asked if there was going to be anything regarding Metal Gear Rising 2, Raiden's voice actor Quentin Miller said that we should keep our eyes open for a couple of weeks.
What do you make of it? Are you a Metal Gear Solid fan that just wants to play the classics with new graphics? Are you a Kojima loyalist? Do you think a remake of such a particular and beloved series is the right thing to do? How likely is it that we'll get one Metal Gear announcement this year, much less all of these?
