What activities have been so enjoyable/time-consuming for you that you later realized you lost track of what time it was?

I have easily lost track of time playing games on my Wii U, watching videos on YouTube, and reading. I've been doing a lot of all 3 of those things lately so my days fly by fast!

Playing videogames is by far the first one on the list. After many consoles and games, I eventually controlled myself to not spend too much time on a single playthrough, but still there are a few instances I get carried away. And I don't control myself with friends at home since we're having fun together, sometimes we even fail to notice it's already dark outside.

Writing guides can also make me lose track of time. Trying to word things out well, sometimes playing as I write the draft, and with the recent HTML tags I also need to include them on the final product before pasting it here.

I don't think I have any other activity on the list. I mean, I do other things in which I lose track of time, but it's never a big amount so I continue doing them until I think it's been enough for the day xD

EX Palen : I've been struggling lately not to spend too much time on one game since I'm so motivated to beat games I haven't beaten before! I also get more carried away on video games when I'm with friends. One of my friends and I always stayed up very late playing Mario Kart races with each other. Sometimes he'd get mad if I got tired at 2 AM or whatever XD

The main thing would be when going to the park or gym to work out. I'll go to work out for an hour or so but assuming I'm not feeling tired that day from other things, I often end up staying longer trying out new stuff. Eventually realizing that I ended up being there way longer than planned.

I train calisthenics which is a type of training method where you utilise bodyweight in stead of external weights. While it sounds easier, challenge comes from progressing to harder moves like a one armed push up or one legged squat variations. This requires body coordination, balance and sometimes mobility in addition to pure strength unlike most forms of weightlifting which is something I feel makes it more challenging. It can be a lot of fun to experiment with challenging moves and finding new ways to tweak my usual routine.

Occasionally I'll also lose track while studying Japanese, it depends on what kind of studying I'm doing though. Reviewing vocabulary usually gets pretty tedious. However if I'm doing something a bit more laid back like watching certain content creators geared towards learning or listening to a podcast I can easily become absorbed in that. The same goes for other types of content that I enjoy as well.

Zlinqx : That's pretty neat! I can sometimes lose track of time when exercising too. I lose track of time when bike riding, playing basketball, and other activities. Especially when those activities are outside! I agree that reviewing vocabulary can be tedious. I enjoyed doing that in Spanish class sometimes, but it was more tedious for other classes.

For me it's gaming on my CRT, YouTube, or working. With YouTube beating out the other two by a wide margin, it's literally the closest thing I have to TV.

Boured : I oddly don't lose track of time on YouTube as much, but I also think it's so close to having TV. My family only has a few TV channels, none of which I am interested in watching most of the time. So I turn to YouTube for everything entertainment and humor XD

Streaming on twitch, studying and growing veggies in my garden at home...thats what has been taking up my time lol and I tent to forget about vizzed until david streams which would jog my memory. XD

Eniitan : So you not only lose track of time but lose track of Vizzed too when doing those things, that's funny XD

That's awesome that you're growing veggies in your garden! I know a few people that do that, and it's really nice that they're doing that. It's great for us, and it's great for the environment!

cid789 : That's nice that you have all those activities to keep you busy right now! It's good to have a variety of activities we lose track of time doing, so that things don't get boring.

For me, it's going to be shopping/looking up stuff to buy.

Before the virus, I used to go to Gamestop or Target. or Walmart and look at stuff to buy for games, movies, and sports stuff, but the problem is, when you go to a physical store, you're constrained by time and money. Sure you could just browse, but that defeats the purpose of going all the way to the store if you don't buy anything.

But since I've been stuck at home I have been spending hours checking the Gamestop website, the Nintendo eshop, Walmart, and a bunch of other sites for stuff that look good to buy.

I lost track a lot surfing waiting for waves... it's so easy to lose track lol.

tRIUNE : That's cool! I've lost track of time being at a beach and being in the ocean. Jumping over waves is also fun!

I tend to very easily lose track of time when I'm playing games with friends. When it's single player stuff I'm usually aware of the time, but when you're having a blast with friends it's like the clock just goes on double time. I guess that also applies for when we're physically out together as well, but that's also in part because I have no need to be aware of the time. I have no problem coming home at 4am lol.

Usually when I am working on my football cards I will loose track of time.

Minuano : Same here. Time doesn't go by as fast when I'm playing games by myself. But wow I'm always surprised when I see the time after playing something with friends. Friday nights at college are always when I see people playing games for a looong time... or I am that person.

Playing with certain people. A few days ago I was on call with someone for like 8-9 hours and it felt like maybe 4? had passed. It's during moments like that that I have nothing complicated on my mind and I can just be myself and have a good time.
