At this current moment in time i am on the 4th day of what can be described as "the first step" to play many of the games that i have bought but never played.

After two years of casual trophy hunting and playing games.. I only have 104 games that i haven't got a trophy in... I hope by the end of the month that number is 0.

So yeah.. Still planning to get at least one trophy in all 104 games... but some i will be playing to completion...

I would put the list of games here that i'm going to play.. but i'll hold off on that until someone possibly shows interest in it.

Anyways. I was just wondering do any of you guys or girls set yourselves challenges like this to make sure you at least try to play the games you buy.. or do you do what normal people do and only buy the games that you can and will play lol... Unlike me because i'm an idiot

I usually play every game I get. There are only a few console games
I haven't played because I just can't get them to work.

The only things I haven't gotten to are a lot of Steam games
that I got from bundles that I really wasn't planning on playing.
If someone recommends a game to me, and I'm able to play it,
then it will be my number one priority to complete it.

For example, a friend recommended an RPGmaker game to me a while back,
so I spent the entire week playing it, and ended up beating it before he did.

But for achievement hunting, I do try to get all achievements,
unless it's blocked by a paywall (DLC achievements),
was part of an event that never happens anymore
(L4D2's Valve Gift Grab and Good Guy Nick)
the achievements are broken and do not unlock correctly,
or have really artificial achievements like 'Kill 100000 Enemies'
when by the end you don't even break 400.

I guess for those you could go in to the game's configuration
and manually turn on the achievements but I'm too lazy to do that
and doing that will get you banned on some achievement sites, not that I really care.
It grinds my gears more when people don't play games
because they DON'T have achievements, and/or they only play games
with achievements to increase their gamerscore,
and not because they actually want to play the game.

Achievements can be a great motivation to play the game,
but I do the achievements because I want to, and wouldn't
everyone want to get the most out of the game?

M4g1cW4rr10r : See i buy games because i want to play them, the issue is that i don't have enough time to play them all so some just get left unplayed because new games i want to play are constantly coming out.

I had the same issue on steam, so much so that i pretty much just don't buy games on steam unless i'm buying them to play with other people now. I think i ended up with over a 1000 steam games.. and i've barely touched half of them...

So to avoid that i'm trying to at least get a trophy in every PS4 game i buy... Nothing is better as an incentive then that for me. I'm not insane enough to assume i can complete all the games i own for sure.. heck my psn account is roughly 4 years old... i have over 500 ps4 games.. i'd have to beat a game every 3 days by that average... and some games are just too big to even do that lol.

Actually an impressive feat. I got to a similar point with my backlog on PS4 where I had tons of games that I had barely even played. I took the cowards way out and simply sold off all my games. Kudos to you if you manage to go through with it.

Personally, I'm now sticking to PC and Switch games and made it a point to stick to what I already have before spending a bunch of money on new stuff. I have to as I've noticed myself starting to slip into the same behavior. I think it will be a good test of discipline in finishing the things I start and to help me be less wasteful in general.

I kid of course... Yeah it's a constant struggle for me to maintain that i play most of them. Also truth be told a few of the game i've got aren't really considered good games either.

Ironically most of the games i don't end up playing are the PS plus games for two main reasons..

1. I already own the game, this is true at least 50% of the time.
2. I don't have any desire to play the game but it's free so why not right?

sonicmcmuffin : I know that's intended to be a joke but honestly yeah, the smaller lineup and expensive pricing is making it easier for me to not take on too many games at once. I also like the Switch specifically because of being able to play in handheld mode. I was a huge fan of the DS/3DS and probably spent more time in bed playing it than any other console. It's just nice being able to pick up and play like that without even turning on the TV (very lazy of me I know).

I get that though, a lot of the games I had in my backlog were PS+ games and even then I was still buying new games and not sticking to them.

Zlinqx : Yeah currently still got 66 out of 114 games to get a trophy in... currently stand at around 195 trophies in 6 days... lol

But yeah i understand the portable aspect of the switch for sure.. Just i myself am not a very portable person and i spend most of my time inside my home... like literally 99% of it...

I'll definitely be interested in seeing a list of the games. There's dozens of PS4 games that I haven't played yet so it would be cool seeing what someone else thinks of them before I decide to fully invest in them.

Is the list of games that i got a trophy in there's a few more.. but i have a spreadsheet for it.. and well ican't be bothered to go look for every game i got a trophy in this month lol...uncharted is a good example. Also there are some typos usually just inside jokes with a friend honestly. although a lot of them got removed because it made sorting the spreadsheet and updating it annoying,.

I'm glad that this thread exists because I'm on the same kind of mission right now! There are many games I got for my Wii U but never was interesting in getting very far in. Most of them are virtual console games, so they weren't as much of a waste of money XD

Well now they aren't a waste of money! I've been playing a lot of games that I didn't play much before! And now I've beaten 2 of them this month: Super Mario Bros. 3 (the GBA version) and New Super Mario Bros. DS. I'm currently working on beating Super Mario World. (I'm really good at Mario games. XD)
