I kind of want to get one but now after the reveal of the 20 games I'm not sure. I don't think the selection is great and there's only a few games on it that I really would ever want to play. They should have made it 30 games like the NES classic edition.

I'm excited to hear about this although i'm also mad about this because recently I've been recollecting classic ps1 games starting with castlevania symphony of the night but i don't know while it would be nice to have those great games all on one system i still prefer the games with orginal box art and cases. Good for gaming but bad for collectors ^^

I'm kind of disappointed that some of my favorite games didn't make it, but this is still a pretty good list.

I've always loved the Twisted Metal series though I never played the first game. Persona is my favorite game series but I never played anything before the 4th game, so playing one of the first ones would be awesome. And I also really liked Abes Oddysee and IQ. So maybe I will give this a chance.

The Playstation Classic has been found to be absolutely terrible. Half the library is in pal 50hz, the menus are ugly, no dualshock, it's all around disappointing for quite a lot of people I've seen.

I expected this anyways. Sony always tries to mimic Nintendo but in a half-assed fashion where only longtime sony fans buy their product.

MMMMMM PCSX-ReARMed box that I could easily achieve the same thing by buying a $35 single board computer. Thanks Sony!

I don't like it so far and apparently lots of others don't either. Tried to sell them at work and nobody was interested in them and some people who bought them didn't like them.

When I'd first heard Sony announce the PlayStation Classic, I was excited and thought it would be a great opportunity for me to purchase a smaller version of the original console. After hearing the list of games that made the cut, I still thought it would be a solid investment at the time, while the list of games were by no means bad, I definitely think there were better options that would've been more well-received. While I understand that you can't please everyone, I'm not sure why Mr. Driller and Cool Boarders 2 made it instead of FF8, FF9, FF Tactics, or any of the system's Crash Bandicoot or Spyro games. Granted, some of these games are easily found on newer PlayStation consoles or were remastered, there were still plenty of other more attractive options than what we ended up with. Excusing the simplistic, bare-bones menus and lack of a dualshock controller, the final nail in the coffin for me was finding out that Sony used an open source emulator and that half of the games were the non-native, 50Hz PAL version.

Overall, it just seems like a very lazy, rushed job on Sony's part. It could've easily been a success, but Sony cut way too many important corners which led to a disappointing final product. The only way I could see myself buying one is if it can be hacked to have more games added to it. It seems like hackers are quickly discovering secret menus and information that suggests the system is compatible with more games than it actually comes with. I'm just to wait and see what they find out.

I really can't believe how bad this has been doing, especially from a sale standpoint. It's been out for less than a month now, it's had two sales, and still is having all sorts of trouble.

Before it came out when it had a ton of hype, I was thinking that $100 was good because it was an awesome system and lots of the games were really good. About a week before Christmas, anyone who bought the classic at Gamestop for $100 got a free $25 gift with it.

Now they've already moved past gift cards and have dropped the price to $60. It's 40% off just a few weeks after it was released, people just don't want it.

Even with all the issues though, maybe $60 is a good price for it, that's the same price as some of the other retro consoles and the combo of price and selection might still outweigh the cons.

There are so many games that they could have put on the Playstation Classic instead of what they ended up with. I understand that Crash Bandicoot and Spyro maybe couldn't happen since they were recently remastered and I suppose MediEvil has a remaster in the pipeline as well but surely they could have done better than they did.

nakina : Yeah. If there were 2 games that I like on it, I would have gotten it for sure, even with all the bad reviews. But with the way it looks now, I'm better off buying in actual PS1 ans hooking it up.
