Yakuza Kiwami 2 01-26-24 10:29 PM |
The Tale of Two Dragons Overview Yakuza Kiwami 2 is an action adventure/ beat em' up game that released on Steam, May 9, 2019. The game was developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, and published by SEGA. Yakuza Kiwami 2 was the 9th mainline game to be released. The game is a remake of the original Yakuza 2 game that released back in December 7th , 2006 in japan, and with a September 9th , 2008 release in North America on the PS2. Graphics Yakuza Kiwami 2 was developed on an engine made by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio themselves called the Dragon Engine. This is was the second game in the series to use the Dragon Engine. The game has a considerate amount of graphical settings you can tune to your liking. These settings are Texture Quality/Filtering, Shadow Quality, Geometry Quality, Realtime Reflections, SSAO ambient occlusion, and Anti aliasing. You also have the option for a preset settings. With today's standards of pc hardware, this game can run on modest pc's. The Minimum requirements for this game are a Intel Core i5-3470/AMD Ryzen 3 1200, Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB, and 4GB RAM. Meeting the minimum requirements allows you to run the game at Low settings, with 30fps, at 1080p with a 75% render scale as stated by the game. Yakuza Kiwami 2 offers pretty good graphics. The Dragon Engine is a great modern engine used in the series since Yakuza 6. Compared to the previous engine, this brings enhanced lighting, shadows, textures, and a load of different other features. Like stated before Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a remake to Yakuza 2. Comparing both of the games, the visuals are a night and day different. Pretty obvious since its a remake of a PS2 game. The world looks stunning, bright lights everywhere. Pretty dense crowds of people, and seemliness transitions from outdoor to indoor locations. Pretty much no loading screens. You can be running through the streets of two of japan's larger red light districts, and never get tired of the scenery... Read the rest of this Review |
FINAL FANTASY XV WINDOWS EDITION 01-24-24 10:32 PM |
A Man and His Cup Noodles Overview Final Fantasy XV is an open world, action, jrpg game that released on Steam, March 6, 2018. The game was developed and published by Square Enix. Graphics Final Fantasy XV was developed on an game engine made by Square Enix themselves called the Luminous Engine. Surprisingly this engine was used in two Square Enix games, FFXV, and Forspoken. Despite being used since 2012. Other content using the engine were tech demos to present the graphical enhancements from this engine compared to the previous one, Crystal Tools. The game does offers a generous selection of graphical settings and you can set a preset that sets the settings for you if you don't feel like selecting them yourself. The settings you can select are TRAM which is an odd texture the controls how much space is allocated for texture streaming. Model LOD, Geomapping, Lighting, Shadows, Ambient Occlusion, and Anti Aliasing. You also have some Nvidia exclusive settings such as Hairworks, VXAO, TurfEffects, and ShadowLibs. The game can run on decent pcs. The minimum requirements are an Intel Core i5-2500/AMD FX-6100, Nvidia GeForce GTX 760/GTX 1050/AMD Radeon R9 280, and 8GB RAM. I would also like to add that running this game off an SSD is a must to alleviate the long loading times. The minimum requirements allow you to run the game at 720p 30fps. Final Fantasy XV is a very impressive looking game. The world is highly detailed, and full of life with fantastic looking creatures and enemies that roam the wilds, which makes long drives quite enjoyable. You have several scenic places scattered around the map for some great photo shoots. Every settlement is unique in design with a wide variety of shops, and npcs across each of them. Sound It ain't a Final Fantasy game without amazing soundtracks. Lets start with overall ambience, and background sounds. Mostly during the day time when exploring the vast world you get a pretty calming melody from... Read the rest of this Review |
Resident Evil 7 Biohazard 01-19-24 10:47 PM |
"Welcome to the family, son." Overview Resident Evil 7 is a first person, survival horror game that released on steam January 24,2017. The game was developed and published by Capcom. Graphics Resident Evil 7 was developed on an game engine made by Capcom themselves called the RE Engine. Resident Evil 7 was the first game to be made on the engine, an game engine that I still widely being used still today for other Resident Evil and other capcom games. The game offers a very wide array of graphical settings you can choose from based on what your pc can handle. These settings are, Texture Quality/Filtering, Mesh Quality, Shadow Quality, Dynamic Shadows, Ambient Occlusion, Volumetric Lighting Quality, Reflections, and Subsurface Scattering. While thats not the settings, does are the most important. Raytracing was added to the game much later after its release on June 2022. The game can run on a decent pc. The minimum requirements are an Intel Core i5-4460/AMD FX-6300, Nvidia GeForce GTX 960/AMD Radeon RX 460, and 8GB RAM. The game requires DX12 after the raytracing update, but you still have an option to play the game in DX11 version of the game. If you're playing the DX11, non rt version the minimum requirements are lower. Resident Evil 7 really hits the nail for how a horror should look. With the new RE Engine, graphically this game looks pretty amazing. The world looks bleak, colors washed out to amplify the horror. The setting for the game really helps, a seemingly abandoned house in the middle of a bayou. The environment is well detailed. Capcom relly delievered when this game came out, especially if you compare it to the previous mainline Resident Evil title. Sound Resident Evil 7 has a really good soundtrack. It is a horror game so the soundtrack will mainly consist of very eerie and jarring ambient sounds, given you the feeling that you're never safe regardless of where you're at. Theres always suspense in the air, you don't know... Read the rest of this Review |
Judgment 01-15-24 10:36 PM |
Judgment of the Deceased Overview Judgment is an action-adventure, beat em up game that was released on Steam, September 14, 2022. The game was developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, and published by SEGA. Judgment is a spin-off game of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise. Graphics Judgment was developed on an engine made by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio themselves called the Dragon Engine. The Dragon Engine is the latest engine currently used in the rest of franchise. The game offers a pretty modest amount of graphical settings. These settings are, Texture Filtering, Shadow Quality, Geometry Quality, Real Time Reflection, SSAO, Render Scale, and Anti Aliasing. Their are also upscaling options available such AMD FSR 1.0/2.1, and XeSS. The game requires decent pc hardware in order to play the game. The minimum requirements are an Intel Core i5-3470 3.2GHz/AMD Ryzen 3 1200 3.1GHz, Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 2GB/AMD Radeon RX 460 2GB, and 8GB RAM. Meeting the minimum will allow you to the play at 1080p 30fps with FSR balanced settings as stated on steam. Judgment has some pretty amazing graphics. The Dragon Engine was made to really capture the Kamurocho nightlife extremely well. Bright and vibrant lights to catch your eye to the various shops and clubs across the map. The lighting and shadows are well done, light sources are reflected and bounce reflective surfaces such as the wet streets of Kamurocho (their always wet for some reason, seems to rain a lot). Shadows being cast from all light sources. The game has a lot of interiors you can go into with no loading screens. A lot of detail was done put into the map and environment. Sound I'm definitely gonna recite a lot of what I said in my Yakuza Kiwami review from a few days. Despite Judgment being a spin-off there is virtually no difference for how the soundtrack, and ambient audio structure. Its likes this for a lot of the games in the franchise. Hey, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Kamu... Read the rest of this Review |
Hogwarts Legacy 01-14-24 10:43 PM |
You're a Wizard ________! Overview Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action adventure fantasy that was released on steam, on February 10, 2023. The game was developed by Avalanche Software, and published Warner Bros. Games. Grpahics Hogwarts Legacy was created on Unreal Engine 4, a widely known engine used in various games by different developers. The game offers a very detail array of graphical setting. While you can set a preset that allows the game to choose the settings for you, you have so many options for graphic settings that it would too much to add here but I will list the most important. You change options between, Effects, Material, Sky, Foliage, Shadow, Texture, View distance and Population Quality. While also have settings like Anti Aliasing, Upscaling options such as FSR 2.1, DLSS 3.1, and XESS 1.1, and raytracing options with supported gpu's of course. Hogwarts Legacy does, at the minimum, require a good gaming pc to run the game. With the minimum system requirements being a Intel Core i5-6500/AMD Ryzen 5 1400, Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 4GB/AMD Radeon RX 470 4GB, 16GB RAM, while also preferring this game be installed on a SSD instead of a HDD. Meeting the minimum allows you to play the game at 720p/30fps on low quality settings. So its highly recommended to have a pc quite above these specs just to have a decent experience. Hogwarts Legacy is a graphically impressive game. The wizarding world looks amazing, every part of the expansive map looks incredibly well detailed. The map is located in the scottish highlands, so the map is mainly consisted of lush temperate forest, towering mountains that surround most of the map, and a beautiful coastline to the south. Lots of villages, caves, ruins, and buildings dot the map, the interiors are well detailed. One of the best looking structures are Hogwarts Castle, a massive castle that serves as the main location and houses the wizarding school. Sound Hogwarts Legacy does an...
