Paper Mario: Sticker Star

Paper Mario:Sticker Star or Flop?
Overall: 7

Wow, I cannot believe that I am rating a Mario game this low. Let me just say that Paper Mario Sticker Star is not a horrible game (though some might disagree.) The only thing wrong is that Nintendo and Intelligent got our expectations high with the last three paper Mario games, and then let us down.Every single one of the originals was near perfection of an rpg. The stories were epic, there was a very long playtime before beating the game, and there were a lot of challenging bits throughout the game. But the biggest part of these games to me, is that they all completed the story in such a way as to leave you completely satisfied. This game...not so much. Let's dive into it before I spoil everything.

Graphics: 9

The graphics are what you would typically expect from a Mario game: Fun, happy and colorful and sometimes a bit quirky. I love the way they designed the various stickers throughout the game. At the beginning of the game, you get some pretty weak stickers, and this is shown by the bandage on the sticker. But as the stickers get stronger, they look better and better. They get a splash of color added (pun intended!) or get bigger, and shinier! The best stickers are usually the shiny rainbow stickers. (Like the infinijump sticker which lets you jump on the enemy 100 times if you can make the timing. Later on in the game, you will also find enemies that are affected by higher power stickers, you can usually tell these guys from the rest because they are shiny, or rainbow shiny. Yeah, there really is not much to tell you about paper Mario graphics, that you wouldn't already know. But, I would definitely give the graphics a 9.

Sound: 9

Again, the sound in Mario games, always amazing. Whether its the music or the sound effects or character expressions. The sound for Paper Mario Sticker star is spotless. Every area has a theme music that fits it perfectly. The sound effects are clean and crisp. And the char... Read the rest of this Review
Legend of Spyro, The: Dawn of the Dragon
07-24-16 11:08 AM
Legendary Title, Epic game
The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon...
Now first off I would like to point out how awesome this title is. Not only is this title epic, but it is completely accurate. Spyro himself is the Legend of the purple dragon, and he's on a quest to defeat those dark monkey things that have been terrorizing the dragons for so long with a dark dragon of their own. This game is indeed The legend that is spyro, and the dawn of the dragons is coming! It's not everyday that I find an awesome game that has an equally compelling title! Anyways, let me get down to business.

Graphics: 9
The graphics are pretty sweet in this game.. The hold up to the true capabilities of the PlayStation 2, and still add to that awesome experience. The graphics that they did for the various types of breaths that you aquire is awesome. Now they could have just used one type of breath and used different colors to depict the different elements, but they did not do that. Instead, they stayed true to each element. Electricity is depicted as almost a stream or focused laser of electricity, while his earth breath resembles the move Leaf storm from pokemon! Also, whatching Spyro’s supercharged moves is just sheerly awe inspiring. Watch as you summon a pillar of flame to engulf your enemies, a lightning storm to shock everyone into next week, a crazy super freezing ice blizzard, or even a leaf storm. The graphics for these are amazing. It makes being able to use these moves that much more satisfying. Another interesting thing is that they show the enemy’s name every time you hit one. No, not their general type name, their actual, individual name...Unless you are fighting some sort of cannon, because obviously the guy inside it has nothing to do with it. Just blame the cannon. Overall, the graphics delivered in this game were awesome. Every world that you went to felt exactly as it should, even Cynder’s tower at the end, it sort of reminds me of Count Bleck’s tower in S... Pokemon Rumble

Get ready to rumble!
Pokemon rumble is the kind of pokemon game that I can really get into. Why? Because for the first time ever, pokemon had the foresight to actually make something different! This pokemon is not like the others in the battle style. It's pure action, through and through. My only thing against it is that you cannot level up your pokemon. You can only get more and more powerful pokes and release the weaker ones. Personally, I am not sure that is the best message a game could possibly send, if you know what I mean. But as far as everything else goes, this game was awesome!

Graphics: 9
For the first time ever, you get to walk around as a 3d pokemon in a fully 3d world. You actually get to see the effects of your attack instead of having to wait for the battle scenes and all that good stuff. Unlike most games, this game uses toys instead of real pokemon, and the graphics show that. I also enjoy how they made the environments look almost real, yet you could still tell you were just in a toy battle arena.

Sound: 9
The sound for this game is outstanding. I absolutely love the fact that they kept the real pokemon cries in the game. The music is good as always. I especially enjoy the battle with the evil wonder key toy bosses. They have a really great, ominous sounding theme. The sounds of your attacks and that of other pokemon are also very well done.

Addictiveness: 9
This game is ultra addictive to me. I shall tell you the extent. I had the free demo version, and I played it as much as I could. I realized the game would end if I collected a level 100 pokemon or higher. So I played through all but one are without collecting a level 100 I spent hours cheating the demo because I kept porting back to the terminal so the game would not end on me when I would accidentally collect a pokemon too high. (Which is very easy to do by the way!) So yeah, highly addicting. For the first time, you can actually move around as any pokemon that you fi... Read the rest of this Review
Wii Play

I play, You play, Wii play!
I remember first seeing this game, and thinking, "Well, this looks kind of boring..." The I saw the price. "It is only $4.99. I might as well try it, it's not like I will be losing much." Well, I am glad I did! This game is very similar to the Wii sports series. It has a bunch of games on here that you can earn medals in. The games are as follows: Target shooting, Mii pose, ping-pong, find Mii, laser hockey, fishing, billiards, ride the cow, (i know sounds whacky!), and even tank driving. Each game focuses on a single aspect of the wii remote. This is a very interesting type of game. A game that shows you how to use the wii remote. Were people really going, "what is that thing?" "I don't know, must be a music conductors's wand." Look out that gamer is going to use nunchucks on us!" Sorry to get off track here, just had to add a little humor. Anyways, on with the review!

Graphics: 9
The graphics are crystal clear, and everything looks pretty good. The designs for some games were just awesome. Take laser hockey for instance. I absolutely love the neon lights! The motion and visuals are spectacular! Especially when you get into a heated battle. Trust me, when I play with my sister, the sparks go a-flying! Some of the games just have fun graphics, like the cow riding game. It's really quite amusing to see your mii hanging onto the cow for dear life. Never knew a cow could run so fast! What can be even more amusing is that fact that you are trying to knock scarecrows down! Way funny! Another spot with good graphics is the tank driving game, I love how the tanks leave tracks wherever they roll. Also if you see the mortar hit a wall, you will see a little smoke cloud from it, nice touch! Anyways, the graphics overall are good, clear, and well designed. Everything that you would expect from the wii.

Sound: 9
The sound is every bit as good as the graphics are, especially for the game billiards. Everything in this game sounds 100% real! Everything fr... Read the rest of this Review
Pong: The Next Level

Ping Pong Play!
I remember getting this game. I had just finished with breakout, and I figured that this would be something like it. I was wrong! This game is so much longer than breakout! Oh my word, is it long! So long, that I do not believe that I have yet completed it! There are so many different types of challenges in this game. Soccer, fishing, hockey, tilt-n-tumble, sheep herding, egg collecting, maneuvering the ball on a maze like raft, even pinball can be found in here! The graphics are pretty good, but I cannot tell you how many times I've failed because of a goofy glitch with the paddle. But let's dive in and take a look at this game.
Graphics: 8I give the graphics an because while it's pretty good for its system, there is one glitch that happens now and again where the ball goes through your paddle. Not fun at all! The graphics are blocky, by today's standards, but pretty good for its own time and decent on its system. The graphics are so creative and varied throughout this game, that it is virtually impossible for me to give the graphics a low rating. You will see probably more variety in this game than you will see in even a lot of today's games. The only game that I can think of having this much variety right now is super Mario galaxy. But that's about it. I'm no professional critic, but I am sure that has to be worth something for the games graphic department, right?
Sound: 9The sound is very good in this game, with different tunes and sounds for every area in the game. The sounds are about as varied as the graphics and levels themselves are. The sounds are all of pretty good quality, and I am so happy that they did not just use the same tune for every level. I was really impressed with the sound here. I would not say the soundtracks are super cool or anything like that, but they are all good and fit the levels and environments quite nicely. Every animal that you will come across in this game sounds the way I feel it should. The sounds are clear and no... Read the rest of this Review

Pac Man World Pt 5
After a very long absentee state, I have returned, and I am going to finish the project that I started a while back: to complete a game guide to complete Pac-Man world 100%. Fortunately, vizzed saved my old game file, so now I no longer need to complete all the levels all over again. Last time that I left off, I had just finished the fun house world. So let us move on to the factory…

Edit: I was originally intending to do this last game guide section level by level, but I was informed that splitting game guides (unless over 20,000 words is now not permitted. So I will now be editing all of the final levels into this final portion.

Factory Lvl. 1: Perilous Pipes

Exiting from the fun house boss level, go to the right…into the factory level's plaza, and enter the first door.  This level is called Perilous Pipes…Let’s just see how dangerous it is. Open the box that is on your left, and grab the pac-dots within. In this area, you will see some strange, I guess welder bots? Anyways, bounce on the ones that have the flame pointing forward, and rev roll the ones pointing up. Or you could just avoid them, it doesn’t really matter. If you need some health, break the crate atop those silver platform cubes to the right of where you first appear in the level. There is nothing else to collect here, so head to the right until you see the drop-off with the arrow. Wait for the magnet platform, and hop on. Oddly enough, if you stomp on these, they will drop whatever it is they were carrying, but the platform itself will not fall, and neither will you. Once on the other side, hit that green switch you see. It will generate a pac-dot chain that leads back to the other side, where you will see either an extra life or a health wedge. Once you get back to the green switch you will notice another magnet platform, this one going up and down If you ride it to the top platform, you’ll... Read the rest of this Guide

It's your world...Eat it! Pt. 4
All right, I can't stay away from a project for long, so it's time for the world 4! The Funhouse! Level 1 Clowning Around! Look out, we are going to face a lot of these kinds of platforms, the spin-wheel platforms. You will cross a yellow, blue, and pink one. On the solid platform, you should see a pressed button. Continue across the moving platforms. On the other side, you should see the other blue button, press it, and the stairs will raise so you can go to the top. Watch out for those weird clown things in the planes!. If you collect the items in those crates, and you do not bounce along the way, you should be able to get them both. You will see a cherry door at the top. Go past it a little ways, and you should see a crate close to a checkpoint. That crate has the cherry that you need to open the cherry door and get the letter "P". But what about that other switch? Well, you can jump around the wall at the top of the stairs and back down to the other button. If you hit it, you can grab an extra life, but that's about it. All right, back where you found the checkpoint and the cherry, you should see a whole roomful of spinning platforms. These ones have green switches on them. My recommendation? Go with the flow, hit the switches, try not to fall! The last  blue spin-wheel platform has the melon so you can open the door that you just passed and grab the letter "A". You will walk past some mirrors, then come to a "tumbler". I like to bounce inside it a lot so that you do not risk tumbling with it!  Once you manage to traverse that, you will see another cherry door. If you head to the right, watch out for that robotic mouse thing. It can only be defeated by a power pellet blast. (Charged Pac Dot Shot!) At the end of this platform, you will cross two spinners before landing on a solid platform with the cherry. Now we can get that door. Inside it is a green switch that activates a pac dot chain that will carry you on top of the tumbler where you can find extr... Read the rest of this Guide

It's your world...Eat it! Pt. 3
Well, I've had a good night's rest, so let's get on with the Pac Man action! We shall be moving on to world 3 now, the space zone! Enter that first rocket to enter the space race! All right, you should see something of a laser wall behind you. Hit the yellow button to deactivate it. Now you can grab that extra life back there. Jump over the laser, it's a real burner! Towards the back wall, you should see some pac dots. Follow them! Well look at that! We found the letter "P". Now then, moving along. Watch the strange alien electropus! You have to bounce him just right! After that, take the rev roll ramp to the other side, you will see two more of those alien things appear. Beat them and hit the switches. The yellow one should let you through the laser wall, temporarily! Once through the door, be sure to watch the laser! After reaching to the checkpoint, you'll want to head to the right. All right, here, you'll find some moving lasers. Be sure to jump those, and watch your timing. After that, you will see a yellow switch. This swiitch activates a harmless laser floor. But if your not quick, you could fall into the depths of space! On the next platform, you will see flickering lasers, time it right to move past them unharmed. Then jump up onto the steps, and still watching your timing jump off it to the left and grab the letter "A". After that, you will come to some more of those moving lasers, followed by a couple of those weird alien things. Hit them with a b-bounce and hit the yellow switch and move on. After you get past the door, you should see a cherry door. The crates on the steps have 2 apples and 1 lemon. You will see a rev roll platform with a laser in front of it. Wait for the laser to disappear, then roll! On the other side you will locate a galaxian door. Hit the yellow switch there and quickly climb the little platforms to reach the top, where you will find the cherry and galaxian needed. Thankfully, the yellow switch not only turns the laser off, but it ... Read the rest of this Guide

It's your world...Eat it! Pt. 2
I have a tendency to get impatient, and I like to git 'er done, so here we go with part two! On to world two. Level one crisis cavern. At the start, we have on of the cave pacsters that seem to like hitting you with clubs and a crate with dots inside. Behind you, there should be something resembling steps. Take these up and you should find a platform with a crate and an apple inside. Moving to the right of where we started you should see some wooden platforms. Watch out for the cris-crossed ones, they'll fall quickly. Towards the back you will see a blue switch. Hit the two spiders along the way. Once you hit the blue switch, head over to what looks like a waterfall, pac dots will be falling from it, along with an extra life. So be sure to grab those before heading farther right towards the apple door Behind that door is a green switch that activates a Pac Dot chain which will take you to a high platform with the letter "p". Now proceed past the checkpoint. You'll head down into a dark room.  In the back left corner of the room is a couple of boxes you can use to mount the nearby helivator. Once you take that to the top, beware of the spider. Move back towards the wall and to the left. This should take you along a path to a b-boing pad. Take that to the next platform where you'll see one of those spiders. Now head past the checkpoint and stop before the green does. The tile directly in front of the green is a trap tile, so try to avoid it, unless you want rocks dropped on your head! Move past that and down a few steps, and you will come to a pumpkin door. Move down past that, watching the traps and spider in your way and you should come to a green switch. If you hit that, the door behind it will open. Grab the pumpkin in the crate, and open the pumpkin door. Then, grab the pac dot chain that appears, and it will take you to a higher level. Go to the left, and watch for the spider that's just waiting to drop on your head!. Bounce up to your left and head as far ... Read the rest of this Guide

It's your world...Eat it!
All right, when you first stat the game you will automatically be taken to the first level. Bucaneer beach. At the start of the level, you will see a maze like area. This area holds two ghosts, a cherry and a strawberry. Collect them and we shall move on. To your right, you should find a platform hanging above it and two bananas. Get em. From them, jump up the steps, but beware the skeleton monsters at the top. Butt bounce the two of them by pressing the X button twice. After that, you should come to a spot where there appear to be platforms that could be lifted by pressing that green switch. Don't do that just yet though. Beyond that, there is a little pool that has five cherries floating above it. You can surface and jump out of the water, if you hold the X button. Grab those, then we can go.At the top of the stairs, you will see a yellow switch. This temporarily activates a drawbridge, so hit it and move quickly. From there, run on till you come to a green area where you see something resembling a trampoline. That is a b-boing pad. Bounce it to move to the next area. Then again, you'll do the same thing to get all the way to the top! All right, up top, you should find a large pool. In the back you can see a crate, and in the water there is one as well. Before we get to that, collect the three oranges along the right side of the pool. Once you get those, head for that crate in the back, break it and you shall get a chrome pellet. This pellet will temporarily make you invincible and allow you to sink in water so that you can actually walk on the floor of any water area. This also allows you to bounce in the water and break crates. Grab the crate in the water and get your extra life. Pressing forward, we will pass a checkpoint. Past this you will see a hill that is too steep to walk up, use your rev roll to get up there by holding the square button to charge and release to roll. You'll have to do that two more times. At the very top, take down the skeleton monster a... Read the rest of this Guide
