Riviera - The Promised Land For one time, quite a good game. But I won't go through this again to see alternative endings -.-

Riviera - The Promised Land

Promises, promises...
Hello! I've just finished Riviera, the Promised Land. As Ein, one of the Grim Angels, you come to Riviera to bring justice and execute the will of the gods. But what is the will, what is just? You will have to figure it out.
It doesn't seem to be a popular game (probably a few people have ever heard of it), so I hope this review may help you considering if it's worth playing or not.

Graphics - 8.
It looks really nice. During the game, you can see some good, comic-like cutscenes. Everything in the Riviera world looks cute. (Un)fortunately, even enemies (well, maybe there are some exceptions). The main monster in the game (Seth/Seth-Rah) looks better and more innocent than the good protagonists in some series.
I have a feeling that the graphic designers were a bit lazy making the game, as the areas on the particular chapters look nearly the same... It's disappointing for me.

Sound - 6
I don't have much to say about the sound. For me, music was average. It didn't impress me, so I muted the sound and listened to my own :P
At the beginning of battle and during "combos", the protagonists issue a battle cry. For me, it doesn't create a good fighting atmosphere.

Addictiveness - 6
Game offers alternative endings, depending on which girls loves you the most (lucky Ein!) ;) Unfortunately, the characters don't have alternative ways to develop, so you would have to come through almost the same things to see these alternative endings.
Furthermore, I don't have the slightest idea how this affection systems work. I thought I am the nicest to one girl, but in the end, the other one was with me. You can see the affection status on menu, but on each chapter they had different affection, I don't know why.
What is good, the game is fast-paced, so you won't feel the time flowing if you decide to repeat it.

Story - 7
Well, the story is quite interesting. It has few plot turns that make it more attractive. At... Read the rest of this Review
Golden Sun - The Lost Age

Power of the Alchemy, arise!
Hello! Here is my first review and I wanted to dedicate it to Golden Sun: The Lost Age, as this game means quite a lot to me.

Graphics - 9
The world presented in GS is very colorful and various. The quality of graphics is very good, I'd say it has unique character.
Definitely, the best thing about GS graphics are animations of Psynergy and summons. The graphic designers followed one rule - the more explosions, the better.
And I totally agree with them! Seeing Judgement summoned is a pleasure for me (almost half of the world is destroyed during the animation, but after that everything is intact except your enemies, but why should we need logic in such a game?)

Sound - 10
I would give more if I could. Music is one of the best things in this game. Calm, joyful, mysterious, exciting, encouraging - each place has different character and you feel this during your journey. The music is just EPIC - and you feel that your quest is very important.

Addictiveness - 10
I've played this game at least three times, and when I listen to the OST, I want to play it again :))
Every city, every "dungeon" gives you different challenges, so it's not easy to get bored with this game.
Playing this game, you can get into that world pretty quickly (oh, how I wished I could have used Psynergy!) and you feel you have to save Weyard.

Story - 9
The main story of the game is great, and the two big turns of the plot (in the Lemuria and at the end) are very exciting. The only weakness of storytelling are the antagonists and their motives - I wish I could learn more about Karst and Agatio.

Depth - 9
The game offers quite a lot. Trying different combinations of classes (like ninja!), using Djinns, achieving powerful summons, battling the Dullahan (though you will need transfer from previous GS) will take you some time. For example, some Djinns are very well hidden... After all, you can still try ... Read the rest of this Review
