One of the hardest video games ever created Pacman+Mariofan
Hello, everybody! This is my review for what I think is one of the hardest video games in history. This Super Mario 64 hack is a sequel to a pretty popular hack called Super Mario 74.

Graphics: 9

The graphics in this game are pretty impressive, especially the fog. The vanish cap course is covered with blue fog and blue platforms and it's really difficult to see where you're going! All of the courses have different graphics from before, except course 6 which looks almost exactly the same when it comes to graphics.

Sound: 9

Only four songs from the game sound just like they do in Super Mario 64 or Super Mario 74: the metal cap, the theme used for course 5 in Super Mario 64, the theme used for course 3 in Super Mario 64, and the theme used for the final Bowser battle in Super Mario 64. Everything else is either new music or original songs from Super Mario 64 that are re-mixed to sound different. The wing cap/vanish cap theme turned out really nice.

Addictiveness: 3

Once you beat this game, it is extremely unlikely that you'll ever want to play it again. Like, for the rest of your life. It's so stressful, it takes a long time to beat, and you won't wanna play it again.

Story: 5

Same old story as always. Princess Peach gets kidnapped by Bowser and Mario has to go rescue her. Nothing changes at all.

Depth: 10

This game has a lot to do. First of all, it's super hard and it's going to take you a long time to get all of the stars (if you even can, which will probably be extremely rare). Second of all, there are 6 more stars than the original Super Mario 74. Super Mario 74 had 151 stars, but this extreme version has 157. I really wish that the creator of this game would have kept the Champion's Challenge (a secret course from the original Super Mario 74) and remade that into a harder course, but there is no Champion's Challenge in this game. It got removed and instead the creator of this game made a different course instead that I won't tell you about because it'll count as a spoiler.

Difficulty: 10

Same rating as depth for the same reason. It's very hard and there are 6 more stars than the original. Just compare the difficulty of this to the original Super Mario 74. The original was sorta easy except for the two sphere worlds, Luminum Sphere and Ombru Sphere, the Champion's Challenge that I mentioned before, and the last Bowser course. But this... this game is ridiculous. Most of you probably won't even be able to complete the first course without savestates or even complete the first course at all. But if you can, you're awesome. The two levels with the difficulty changed the most are the sphere worlds. Luminum Sphere and Ombru Sphere from Super Mario 74 were actually possible without savestates. But Veneno Sphere and Crudelo Sphere? I can't believe how hard they turned out. They're absolutely nothing like Luminum Sphere and Ombru Sphere. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like before. There's like absolutely no similarity between the spheres. The only similarities I could find is that Ombru Sphere and Crudelo Sphere are both dark and all four spheres require lots of wall-jumping skills.

This hack turned out to be a lot different than the original. I bet it was really hard for the creator of this game to take Super Mario 74 courses and make them more difficult. I expected this game to be more difficult than the original, but I didn't expect it to be THIS difficult and the level concepts were completely changed! Like Sunny Beach from Super Mario 74 is now a snow level and Azure Abyss from Super Mario 74 is now a deep pit of lava! Now I've noticed that other Super Mario 64 hackers use this hack as inspiration so that they can make harder versions of their hacks! Well, that was it. I hope you enjoyed this review!
