Rampart   arsenal1991
Graphics- Now I have played the SMS (Sega Master System) Rampart many times because i owned it and graphics just seemed to lack a little for me and they was not much better on the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) either but overall graphics wise on those systems were decent but on the SNES they were miles better and for that time of the gaming era it made you feel connected to the game itself and really engaged you aswell graphics were brilliant on this and thats why i give this a 10
Sound- There was never really much sound in the Rampart game bit of catchy music which i personally like and then the casual boats firing their cannons towards your castle in attempt to destroy it even though the sound effects were basic they were catchy and again caught your attention and made you play the game more
Addictiveness- This was one of the best SNES addictive games I have ever played really single player was just as much fun as grabbing another Rampart fan and taking each other on to destroy each others castle there was always fun and every time made you try harder to win if you did not like this game then you clearly don't have much game taste
Story- All i can say for this bit is that there quite simply is not any story to the game theres no story mode or anything like that its just a case of it being a medieval war game and you need to fend off ships by destroying them with old fashioned weapons known as the cannon and if you lose you'll die by having your head chopped off by the guillotine and your army nothing but dead bodies
Depth- theres 2 modes for the SNES theres the classic most land and a bit of water maps and then there's the super game the classic mode which initially started of the Rampart series is you 1st of all pick a location where to battle 1st you then pick a base and that leads to a mini castle 1st of all you then have to defend against the ships invading the area by destroying them the super game is a much bigger style of the classic version itself its just like the classic but apart from its just miles bigger that you do have to search where the ships to destroy them and once destroyed you win that round and move on to a different map
Difficulty- the controls for Rampart are very easy really and you do get used to it quickly but it can get just a little tricky when building in attempt to expand the land of your castle if your castle has even just 1 block missing making the castle not yours and just shows as normal land the enemy wins and you have to restart that bit again losing too many times leads to your death building the caslte can also get more annoying when you see red ships as theres 3 ships a small one with 1 sail (easiest to sink) a ship with 2 sails (a little harder but not much) and a ship which is coloured red and also has 2 sails (hardest to destroy) the red ships if not dealth with 1st can actually been the difference of you winning that wave conquering that part of location or losing they shoot fireball cannons which burn the land and make the little square of where they hit unusable so if your castle is right by the edge of the map be careful as if that part gets taken out by red ships you'll have to abandon that castle or restart
Overall-9 this is a very good game that many can enjoy and have hours of fun on let the wars begin

This despite me not actually owning the game itself on the GEN it was the best Rampart because of the super map rather than the classic SMS and NES versions hours of fun and can never get bored and sometimes highly annoying when blocked by red boats shots
