Mazin GO!! Ultramanzenith
I am a fan of the original Mazinger Z series, and am now watching the Shin Mazinger Shougeki! Z-Hen series and loving it. As such, when I saw this game, I wanted to give it a try, and it did not disappoint. As far as side-scrollers go, this is one is about average. The controls are pretty easy(Except for the fact that I can't use any of Mazinger Z's special moves. Please, anyone whose played this game please tell me how to use his special moves!), and the graphics and sound are decent as far as the SNES console goes. However, if you are a fan of the franchise, then that's not what you're playing the game for. Mazinger Z is pretty well detailed and the controls are pretty easy(except for the aforementioned issue), and the enemies are all from the original or new series, depending on which one you're watching. The only real gripe I have is the cut scenes. While the animation and graphics are some of the best I've seen on the SNES, there's no text. The characters are moving their mouths, but are not saying anything audibly, nor are there any captions/subtitles popping up. But that's not really all that important. All you really have to do is go through each level and beat up all the enemy robots that are in your way, and that's it, short, sweet and simple, and that's the way I like it in this kind of game. Overall, either if you're a fan of the genre or not, this game is pretty addictive, what with you beating up robots every two seconds. I'd recommend this to anyone who's got nothing else better to play on this site.
