It can be difficult at times to stay focused on serving God with my life, and even when I am doing well at a given time (doing well being relative of course because I'm still sinful) it is hard to continue without burning out. So I was wondering, in what ways do you stay refreshed, spiritually? and even when I am doing well at a given time (doing well being relative of course because I'm still sinful) it is hard to continue without burning out. Oh no! I guess I must have killed him because couldn't recruit him by talking to him! I guess I've been playing too much Genealogy of the Holy Wars. There are so many non-recruitable enemies with names and sometimes even some character development. Thanks; now that I know that I should have no trouble getting him if/when I play through the game again. Oh no! I guess I must have killed him because couldn't recruit him by talking to him! In response to a previous question: I've heard of a ridiculous recruitment
situation in Tracia 776, but I haven't played that one yet and it doesn't sound like have either. I'm guessing that would be a dreaded chapter. Question: I'm currently at Ch 23 in FE 7 in my first play through (kind of got a late start on the series ![]() how to recruit Geitz and eventually gave up and looked it up on a forum. As I'm sure you could have told me, I found out that I needed Dart. The problem is, somehow I missed recruiting Dart. I would like to add to what play4fun stated above by referencing some scripture. Deuteronomy 4:2 (NIV) states, "Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you." In order to emphasize the danger in ignoring this command, allow me to quote another verse. Revelation 22:18-19 (NIV) states, "I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and the holy city, which are described in this book." These verses only refer to the book of Revelation, but the point remains: Do not add or take away from the Word of God. Also see Proverbs 30:5-6 and Galatians 3:15. As far as the original question posted by play4fun, I could not have stated it better than SoL@R scripture. Singelli : You offer a very compelling argument. I recommend her post
to anyone else who is thinking about magic and how to act around the myriad of settings in which it shows up in society. As far as how I should apply this to my life, I do not know. Some forms of "fantasy magic" seemingly have very little in common with the magic that exists in reality. My current philosophy is that magic portrayed in the types of games I play or movies I watch is utterly fictional. In this way I am merely exercising my freedom in Christ (see I Corinthians 8). I choose not to be entertained by anything magic related that, to some degree, accurately depicts reality. However, even assuming this view is correct, I will not criticize Singelli's view. To her any interaction with magic is a sin and therefore she should have nothing to do with it. I wonder, though, if my way of approaching this issue is dangerous. Magic is certainly not something to take lightly. I will have to pray about this and ask God if He desires that I take more drastic action against magic in my life. If it is indeed a sin to associate with fantasy magic as I currently do, it will be better for me to obey God than to get a small amount of pleasure from playing the game. mrfe : Thank you very much for posing this question. I'll first mention a few adjustments in grammar and style that would
improve the flow of your essay. First, make sure that you keep your tense consistent. Because you're talking about a book that tells a story, all events that you mention from the book should probably be in past tense. You can adjust the style slightly and refer to events in present tense instead, but either way, make sure you do not switch between the two tenses. This problem is one that I used to have too, so don't feel bad; you'll just have to watch out for it. Also, try not to make your sentences too long. If you structure a given sentence very well you can get away with occasional long sentences, but if it seems long read through it and make sure it flows well. Finally, try to vary the wording you use throughout the essay. It was difficult for me to discern if you were being repetitive in your content, or if your wording was simply making it appear that way. The synonyms feature may help some in this respect, though having a friend read your paper may be the best way to find better wording. As far as the content goes, it seems to me that you have a very good start. I think that the choice of Bilbo's skirmish with the spiders in Mirkwood is an excellent example of Bilbo exhibiting bravery and could definitely be considered a turning point in his life. In order to improve your essay, I recommend that you at least briefly describe Bilbo's character prior to this event, as well as how he demonstrated that he was changed afterward. For example, you might mention the general view of adventures and danger held by most hobbits. By mentioning these things you will provide the reader with a greater perspective and therefore allow him or her to understand how much this turning point changed him. I did notice that you gave one example of how Bilbo was changed, but the example had no detail and therefore gave the reader little more information than what he or she already had. I'm not an English major, but I hope this advice helps you to improve your paper. Best of luck! improve the flow of your essay. First, make sure that you keep your tense consistent. This is just a suggestion: This question would have been a lot less
frustrating if you had listed the books in the question in addition to having them in the drop-down menus. I wasted a lot of time on this question because I would select something too quickly, get some in order, and then have to move them up or down after noticing a book I had overlooked. Perhaps this is just me being sore that I didn't do well, but I do think this would help. frustrating if you had listed the books in the question in addition to having them in the drop-down menus. My roommate and his girlfriend discovered while talking one day that they disagreed on when a person should be baptized -- whether it should occur while the person is an infant or if it should occur when it is expressed by the individual that he or she wishes to be baptized (after first accepting Jesus as his or her Savior). My roommate has done a lot of research on the issue and so far has only determined that nether side can be proven nor disputed. Does anyone have any opinions on the matter that can be supported by scripture? Please respond with your thoughts and please support ALL arguments with scripture (leave a reference). Please do not simply bash one side or the other with unsupported opinions. I am interested in how different people with different backgrounds interpret scripture. that they disagreed on when a person should be baptized -- whether it should occur while the person is an infant or if it should occur when it is expressed by the individual that he or she wishes to be baptized (after first accepting Jesus as his or her Savior). My longest test in High School was my AP Biology Final which was 100
multiple choice questions and four or five free response questions (which is very similar to the AP test which I took the next spring). However the longest ever was my Fundamentals of Engineering Exam which was a two part exam. The first (morning session) was 120 questions and the second (afternoon section) was 60 questions. We had four hours to complete each section. All were multiple choice, but there were very few that I could solve in less than one or two minutes. I pretty much used the entire eight hours. I just hope I passed so I don't have to retake it. multiple choice questions and four or five free response questions (which is very similar to the AP test which I took the next spring). Could you please explain the purpose of the sling? I didn't know what
it's effect was or how to use it in the last competition so I simply did not do so. P.S. Thank you so much for restarting the trivia competition. I'm very much looking forward to it. Also, my offer to help with writing questions still stands in case you become overburdened or would simply like a little assistance. it's effect was or how to use it in the last competition so I simply did not do so. Did I miss the final question for the Bible Trivia Contest? I've been away
from a computer for the last week. If I did, could someone tell me where to find it? It's not like I was going to win anyway -- I just like trying to answer the questions. By the way, I really enjoyed this trivia competition and would like to see it continue. The questions are a good way to get me thinking and they also are an encouragement to continue studying my Bible and learning more about God. I would be more than willing to help with writing questions if this would get the competition to continue. Doing so would even be helping me because it would force me to dig into my Bible. from a computer for the last week. If I did, could someone tell me where to find it? I'm not sure exactly how busy you are, but I think I can relate. I'm
currently a junior Civil Engineering major and I do several hours of work-study each week in addition to my school work (which can be very time-consuming sometimes). As far as clubs go, I'm the secretary of the Math Club and a member of our chapter of ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers). Being a part of these clubs is not very time consuming (generally not more than an hour a week). Being an officer in Math Club gives me insight into how a group is organized. Being a member of ASCE provides me with networking with other engineers if I put in a little extra time, which can be very valuable. Overall, I'm very happy that I'm a part of both clubs. Other than these two clubs, I participate in IM soccer each spring. This is slightly more of a time commitment because the games are at night when I'm normally doing homework. However, it helps to motivate me to get my work done before the game starts and therefore I tend to use my time more wisely. Additionally, it forces me to get regular exercise -- something that I generally do a poor job of doing. I would definitely recommend that you join some sort of club, as long as it does not require large amounts of time every week. I don't think it matters much I you choose an academic club like I did or one that you just do for fun. Both have benefits, and I've found that these benefits make it worth it to spend an hour or two (or perhaps even more) each week doing club activities. currently a junior Civil Engineering major and I do several hours of work-study each week in addition to my school work (which can be very time-consuming sometimes). Hello everyone! This is alr256. I'm a college student and I love the Fire Emblem game series. Though I knew very little about the series until a couple years ago, it has since become one of my favorites. Anyway, just thought I'd finally introduce myself to everyone, and if anyone has any suggestions of other great strategy games feel free to let me know. |
