Lots of games have a family that you interact with. Some are more obvious, like in fable or Sims, but others are more subtle like the family of Clementine and Lee in walking dead. What I'm curious about is what "family" in video games did you connect to the most and why? It can be a blood related family or one where they are just really close friends that act as they were related. What did you feel the closest to? For me, the one I gotta call my favorite would have to be the little family I had in harvest moon: A new beginning. My wife Yuri owned a tailor shop and worked often, leaving me to care for the farm. However, instead of letting your wife be nothing more than an extra sprite in your house, I got till have lots of special interactions with her. On her days off she would help with chores, I could visit her at work, we ate all our meals together and we even Gould go on vacation together. It wasn't anything super amazing and it was just an npc but I truly felt like I had started a real family. So that's why it's my favorite. http://anotherinufan.tumblr.com/post/89512347743/shaynesama-f***-this-game Eirinn : Did you think I was exaggerating? This is the green flower event!! The fact that they're bringing back unmemorable characters like Reina and Cam in the new harvest moon game is the number one reason that I'm not really all that interested in it. When I saw the cast of A new beginning and how diverse the cast and costumes were I knew I'd love it--and they ended up breaking expectations on occasion! The new crew? Everyone is pretty. Yay? NeppyLeet is furious that they didn't bring back the guy she fell head over heels for in ToTT (Ash) in the new game as opposed to pretty bland bland lady and Reina. Sure it's fun to marry someone pretty, but it's much more fun to be marry someone who has fun cutscenes with! Like who would suspect a dominatrix magical girl in a harvest moon game? 8D (her name is Michelle) OOOH Fun fact! According to some dialogue in the Nintendo 64 you have with Karen, Eve is her grandmother. Which makes total sense because it had been so long from the original cast appeared! However, the cast appears again in Harvest moon Magical melody, which means that when you play as the boy in the HM:MM and as the guy in the original, you actually are grandpa. It's your own farm that you take over in HM:64! However, when the game Back to Nature came out Yasuhiro Wada assigned the game to the people that had created the harvest moon game boy games and as a result instead of it being an I know what you mean about Potpourri though. In Harvest moon 64 she is not only adorable, but she is also has a great personality and when all the girls are married (including the instances when they are married to you) Potpourri is the only girl in the whole game who talks about things OTHER than her husband. In a town full of nervous nancies like Rick and Maria who are just trying to keep everything peaceful, it's fun that they have a girl who is still a loud little goober. She does beat up Gray after they get married though. Abuse is never funny. :< I will confess, the fact that there are harvest moon games on Vizzed really made me want to join. Can you upload edited versions of games to vizzed by the way? Someone made a sprite edit version of mineral town that allows gay marriage and I think it would be fun to share! Dood, if we had created a harvest moon forum I could keep it talking ON MY OWN. (sorry about the naughty word in the link, I didn't create the post) Eirinn : Did you think I was exaggerating? Zero. I have yet to even run into a shiny in my lifetime. The closest I have ever gotten was one time where I was playing pokemon Y and I had run into a floette who was holding a yellow flower. I looked online and found that the pictures all had them holding a red flower. I thought I had finally found one! I caught it, and continued on. Then lo and behold, I ran into another one! What amazing luck! I caught it, thinking of giving it to a friend when I ran into another one. I kinda caught on after that. I kinda caught on after that. |

I once left a grocery store with an avocado in the pocket of my hoodie. I was so amazed at how easy it was to take that I started to sneak an avocado every time I went to the store. THUG LIFE THUG LIFE |

I'll enter! What's the due date? Does it have to be a single image or can it be a comic? Will you be docked points if the drawing is traditional art and scanned in opposed to digital art? |

Chewedmint : I love kitties! But I think I am too young to parent a kitten right now. I have a life to live! Plus that is a Scottish fold! They often have back problems and arthritis in their joints later in life and that is just too much responsibility right meow. *pets kitten though* Barathemos : Imagining that scary guy in your picture snuggling a kitten is like the cutest thing ever. Odd flames : oh that makes a lot of sense! Words jumble together past one am. Barathemos : Imagining that scary guy in your picture snuggling a kitten is like the cutest thing ever. As a person who had been on academic probation more than a few times, what I recommend is that you make an appointment to talk with a counselor at your school. These people's jobs are to help out students. Explain your situation and talk over any questions you have with them. They will have all the answers, and can even help you plan out your education schedule to solve any problems that may have resulted in your probation. Good luck! Good luck! |

If I were able to have any game character as my dad, I would pick... Garry from Ib. Garry is in a world where everything is quickly trying to kill you, but he isn't trying to focus only on his own safety. He's constantly watching out for Ib. But even with that, he isn't a constant worry wort over her safety, he trusts her judgement and believes in her so when they get separated he trusts that she is smart enough to keep herself alive through the puzzles. I know the relationship between Garry and Ib is supposed to be romantic, but it seemed more like a family between the three rose carriers. Garry is a joker who knows when to be serious, protective but able to let a girl stand for herself, and a loyal caring man. I think he would have made a great dad. Also you gotta love the blue hair. Chewedmint : thank your for the offer but I must decline. I work at a coldstone creamery in real life. I interact with chocolate chip cookie dough every day and it's fully cooked counterpart for a few hours every few days. I must say thee nay. Odd flames : I have to warn you then, new friend. I very much love to talk. I at least try to separate topics by paragraph if it helps. Odd flames : I have to warn you then, new friend. I very much love to talk. zanderlex : Thanks! It's nice to meet you too! I know I'm gonna have lots of fun. I've watched a ton of NeppyLeet's videos so I know that even the ones that are bad (Have you SEEN the Sheldon Sims 16 video?) have some chance of fun in it! Please don't try to learn my name though. It is very embarrassing. Posting cave? Those seem kinda breezy. Do you have trouble insulating it during the winter and summer? Are the posts within made of metal, wood, or concrete? The people here seem very nice! I think I'm going to make a lot of new friends! supernerd117 : *game show voice* OOOOH I'm sorry! But the word we were looking for is "Boyfriend"! My boyfriend is a PC gamer. But yes~! He very much loves his steam and League of Legends. He's the type of gamer that is so competitive that he'll be delighted that he made it into silver (I think that's good?) and then two days later be annoyed that he wasn't any closer to gold yet. XP Competitive mentalities confuse me. He recently got into Team Fortress 2 again and seems to be having fun with that one. At least I'm able to understand what's going on in that game! (I like to watch from the other side of the room). Eirinn : I saved your post for last simply because I know that I'm gonna be typing for a while on this one. *deep breath* I absolutely love harvest moon a new beginning. The different things you can look into, the settings, the characters and the fact you can travel with your family really makes the game super fun. The game isn't perfect by far, the first spring is pretty much tutorial and you can't play all the bachelors and bachelorettes to get all the cutscenes like in other games but the relationship seems more serious in this way too. There is a lot that you can do in Harvest moon ANB, but what I really like is there really is no requirement to do so. Sure you have to do stuff to save the town, but if you don't want to keep up a garden and want to have a screen full of chickens-- go for it! AAAH such a good game. Too bad there's a ton of online features that make it hard to make an emulator for. :'< Tale of two towns is super duper fun! I was a knonohana fan, even though I never really found someone I really wanted to marry. Why is Kana such a weirdo? Like why? WHY? Why would he think that I would enjoy knowing that I'm almost as attractive as his horse? Golly though, you haven't played anything before that since mineral town? What threw you first, the fact that the characters blinked or that Howard doesn't? My first harvest moon game was the gamecube's "Harvest moon: Magical Melody", all the way back in eighth grade. You play as overweight chibis who have very strange voices trying to find love while reviving a stoned harvest goddess. Pregnancy kinda killed the fun for me so it was put aside for the next harvest moon game I could find: Another wonderful life! It was awful. I put my backwards cap and boots away for many years until I roomed with one of the most amazing ladies I've ever met (Not Neppy but just as awesome) in college who was sure to bring her Nintendo 64 with her from New Jersey. While bored one day I found a game in her box titled "Harvest moon 64". The little dude looked like the one I remembered from HM:MM so I gave it a try. A wonderful new world appeared to me that day. Adorable character models, great storytelling, fun and challenging goals, cheats that weren't technically cheating because they were totally in there already Karen--everything that I loved in a game! And best of all, the first moment that I laid eyes on her little 3d sprite I knew who I was going to marry. Her shy nature, her cute over sized glasses, her love for bugs, her very easy to obtain favorite food-- Maria was the one for me! I loved her. I adored how she interacted with others, the cutscenes she had with the other bachelorettes and so very much I loved the cutscenes with me. And most important of all, in HM64 all the girls have a chance of ending up with someone else in town if you didn't snatch them up for yourself. For the most part, all the girls ended up with good guys who really seemed to care for them. ALL BUT MARIA. She ends up with the postman Harris, a traffic cone headed big nosed smiling pupil dilated fatty who had no personality! I had to save her from this fate! But before I could get the blue feather for her I was forced to move out of my apartment because I am crap at school. As I continued my life in my hometown two hours away I often called my friend. On one such an occasion, my friend announced that she had gotten married in her file on Harvest moon 64. To MARIA. To make things even worse she told me everything about the relationship with her, how the in laws react to her, what she says during each cutscene, the cute little things she does when you leave the house and how she does chores every now and then to help you out--SHE STOLE MY LOVE!!! And what's even worse, she found her boring and chose to start a new file and married Potpourri instead, leaving my sweet Maria to be doomed in an empty baby making marriage with HARRIS. It was awful. Never before in a game had I felt such a connection, and then to have it taken away so cruelly... Looking back I see now that the game really must have been something to have such a deep connection that to this day--erm night I still have the same strong feelings as I did back then. Harvest moon is amazing! From now on, little Maya shall continue their sprite-based adventures in Harvest moon, hoping someday to regain that same beautiful feeling of simulated 2D love that was once blessed upon them so many years ago... The closest I got was in Harvest moon ANB, but like I said before I accidentally erased my save file and I was so hurt I find it hard to pick the game up again. I do plan to do so eventually but for now little Maya's search for love continues... Oh yeah I will totally drop loot from time to time once my mind comes up with stuff. Be sure to keep that chicken handy though! It only sells for 10 G at the bazaar anyway. supernerd117 : *game show voice* OOOOH I'm sorry! But the word we were looking for is "Boyfriend"! Dear Slythion, Use it well. It sure was! She's been a fan of you guys for a very long time! I still have a lot to learn, but on the other hand I have been here for less than 24 hours so who knows? Also how do you pm people? I do not believe it is possible to teach a pair of shorts how to pants, but I am always willing to ask of second opinions. Dear NeppyLeet SUP GURRRRRRL! A pleasure to meet you all, dear strangers! I am AnotherInuFan, or if you prefer an actual name: Maya. I'm extremely embarrassed by my real name so Maya is a nickname that I am very fond of. That aside, we are no longer strangers so hello friends! I have joined vizzed.com this evening and now is making my first post! Harry! I am what my boyfriend likes to call a "filthy casual" or as I like to call it "Awesome". I enjoy slower paced games like Harvest moon, style savvy, ?dating sims, pokemon, ?project diva f, yume nikki, and hey ice king why'd you steal our garbage to name a few. I love things with great narrative or characters that help you develop a connection and story of your own. (And when it's both even better! ) At this exact moment, my favorite games are this Japanese ps1 game where you play tetris as the cardcaptor sakura characters watch, ?harvest moon a new beginning, (which is also the first game I ever I learned of vizzed.com though miss NeppyLeet, a total sweetie who records videos and is one of my best friends in the world. She recommended this site to anyone with ears! However the pasted together home for hamsters I called a laptop could barely play a YouTube Play list without going bsod, so aside from reading the lore of league of legends characters I did very little on the computer in regards to gaming. This last January I moved away from the town I've lived at for years to one I had never even visited before to be with the man I love. But two very big changes came when I moved two hours away from everyone I knew. 1) losing all my friends made me very lonely. 2) I got a smartphone for the very first time. When browsing around miss NeppyLeet's play through videos I noticed an interesting line of text on this site: You can access the boards with any smartphone. (To paraphrase) The lights went off like a match in a fireworks storage boat! This was the answer! I have a access to a computer (when it isn't being used) that isn't powered by small furry creatures that need food! I have a phone where I can go on forums and talk with people and make new friends! And best of all, I can play games with my friends again just like I was able to before I left! My full time job kept things tough when trying to contact people but with vizzed someone is almost always around! No more loneliness! Yay! Wow, you survived through the wall of text that was my introduction! I award you a golden chicken trophy of +1 endurance to all Maya posts and a thank you! I look forward to hearing about you guys too! That aside, we are no longer strangers so hello friends! I have joined vizzed.com this evening and now is making my first post! Harry!
