If I notice it before I put my money in, i'll use it to get my soda or whatever. If I notice it after, I'd probably just leave it. The way I see it is like it's a take-a-penny system. If you get there and need a quarter, take it, otherwise just leave it for the next person.

It's like, I miss them so much and wish I could see them more and that my parents could be a part of my children's lives, but I don't want to live in a place like that anymore! Man, I love partying, I'd go out partying every weekend if I could! Get three or four good friends together and head down to the pup, then talk to some mysterious stranger sitting in the dark corner. He usually tells us about some treasure he was hunting, but it was too deep in the dungeon. So me and my friends look at each other, and we each say, "Okay."

So we head out to the enchanted forest or mystic mountains or whatever, fight a few manticores, some dragons, and wham bam thank you ma'am, a huge pile of gold and platinum, enchanted swords, flying carpets, you name it! Easily the best way to spend a fortnight that doesn't involve dying of dysentery. (Tip: You will probably still die of dysentery.)

Hmm... I make 0.0557511737089202 threads per day, which means around one thread every 17 days. Except my last thread was over a month ago, and the last thread before that was in 2014... So like, never.

I've said this before, but I like your reward ideas, they're something that some people will feel is worth while, but won't eat up a huge portion of your time. I've seen a lot of Patreon campaigns that ultimately fail because creators promise much more than they are reliably capable of producing.

I would warn against trying to do this by the seat of your pants. Look into the Patreon API (If such a thing exists--I'd hope it does) and automate as much of this as possible. If you're manually editing users to give them special perks, you'll likely end up spending several hours per month just handling who's kept and hasn't kept their Patreon promises.


Also keep in mind that it's possible to game the system by pledging a certain amount of money, gaining all of those benefits, and then the day before your pledge is supposed to go through, cancelling your pledge. You'll need to keep track of this in some way to prevent users from doing this. (This is going off of complaints I heard a few years ago and may no longer hold true--look into it!)
