Here's some brief TdV info:

Each day there will be 4 Jerseys you can compete for:
Yellow Jersey: Most words in a day
Blue Jersey: Most posts in a day
Red Jersey: Most CP in a day
Green Jersey: Most CP actions in a day

If you get 1st place in a Jersey for a day, you get to "wear" that Jersey the following day. To "wear" it means that the background of your username will have a unique background graphic. Only the top 5 places of each Jersey gets points, 1st gets 5 and 5th gets 1. Whoever has the most points for any Jersey at the end of the competition gets to wear that Jersey for the entire next month. If you have more than 1 jersey, your jersey receives stripes for each jersey color you own.

Along with the Jerseys are Banners that change your username color. They basically represent who has the most points total:
Rainbow Banner: Whoever has the most points so far in the competition
White Banner: New member who has the most points so far in the competition (anyone who has signed up in the past 3 months)

Tour de Vizzed Rules:

You'll be DQ'd if:
-More than 25% of your daily posts are made in one of the following forums: Crazy House, Vizzed Market, Polls and Questions, Video Game Craziness, Newbie Forum (unless posts are made in your own thread then it's 50%)
-You copy content from other websites or other posts
-You use the "tabbing" technique to make a bunch of posts in a short amount of time
-You're caught cheating or unfairly earning Contribution Points
-More than 25% of your daily posts are made in the same thread (your own thread and staff threads are an exception)
-If 50% or more of your daily words are posted in the final hour of the day
-Staff members are not allowed to feature their own reviews during the Tour de Vizzed

Additionally:
If you get DQ'd just once from a Jersey, you can no longer get points for that Jersey for the rest of the month. We will be very strict from now on with the Tour de Vizzed. Only CP actions which you earned CP off of count toward the Green Jersey.

If you get DQ'd from too many Jerseys in too many TdV competitions, you'll be DQ'd from the TdV forever. Also, if you get DQ'd from a single Jersey in too many competitions, you'll be DQ'd from that specific Jersey forever.

Also, if 50% or more of your daily words are posted in the final hour of the day, you'll be DQ'd from the Yellow Jersey. Too many users have waited until the end of the day to submit a bunch of reviews to the site and that's unfair to users competing.

Moving Ebay Listings for the time being does not count toward any of the Jerseys. The price guide feature hasn't been retrieving ebay listings in nearly 2 years because of ebay updating their scripts and me not finding the time to update my own scripts to reflect that so what I've been doing instead is, every few months, I buy a price guide from PriceCharting.com and batch add the data to the games. There's no reason to allow it to count since it's not beneficial to the site at all since all of those ebay listings are very outdated and those prices no longer reflect what's current.



Additional Tour de Vizzed Info:

Some CP actions only count as 1 per day. In other words, any action in the below list can only increase your Green Jersey points by 1:
Forum Navigation, Review Rated, User Referral Posted, Video Rated, Post Spell Checked, Visiting Vizzed, Screenshot Rated, Post, Game Commenting, Thread, Thread Reply, Chat Room Minute, Staff Forum Post, Staff Forum Thread and Screenshot Details Added.

These CP actions do not count toward the Green Jersey: Game Content.

Each day there will be a specific CP action which will be worth doubled the points which benefits the Red Jersey competition. Below is a list of which actions are worth doubled on which days this month:

Let the games begin!

Yay..... (sarcasm) anyways another tdv month. I wonder whats going to happen and who is going to win. At this point we don't have a clear winner yet, but as time goes on we will see who will win this....next tdv. I'm sure those who love to compete will be going all out to doing their best to get the jersey or jerseys they like to get.

Anyways, I'm going to be focusing less on competing this time around than in previous competitions due to how much busier I'll be than I've been in previous months. I'll probably be focusing more on the RGR and netplay contests going on right now than the TDV. Other than getting the 4 jerseys I need to finally reach the 100 jersey milestone, I can't think of any other goals that I want to accomplish this time around.

I completely forgot the TdV started today until I saw Davideo7's name italicized XD I'll likely be able to compete only on the weekends because school has been busier than ever this year. I barely posted at all last month and I should make up for that this month!

I can't compete this weekend because of family plans, my school's homecoming dance being tonight, and I'm doing a 5K walk with my school tomorrow. I hope I can still be able to cheer on the competitors throughout the day though

Pacman+Mariofan : My name being italicized is basically the result of it being the 1st of the month. Usually I have a lot of posting to do and a lot of threads to create on the 1st of each month so it's very common for me to make 25+ posts. Since I'm also trying to get as much work done as I possibly can before I start working full time, that has resulted into me making a lot of posts regarding the things I've done and fixed also.

I of course would love to start out with the lead in this Tour de Vizzed but I wouldn't be able to hold on to it for more than a day since I'll be starting up a full time job on Monday and wouldn't be able to find the time to compete with having a full time job, working on the site and spending time with my family.

I was expecting something special for the 20th TdV competition... Maybe for the 25th on January 2018?

Anyway, let's see how this unfolds. Being October, it's bound to be a dead TdV because of work, school, university or whatsoever getting in the way of everyone's free time. This could potentially become a close fight if people can't be regularly active for a few days straight, so extracting just the positive things we spectators may have a fun ride watching from the sidelines.

I'm bound to place a few times in the daily top 5, but I think I'll be discreet enough to not finish in the overall top 10. Accidental points will be crucial, but I probably won't obtain many because of being so focused on offsite things.

Maybe I'll compete this TdV, I haven't decided yet. If I do my only goal will be the top 10 however :p.

Davideo7 : I don't mean to be braggadocios but I feel like I am going to do very well this time around. I may not win 1st Place, but I plan to get close.

For me, this month will probably end up a lot like last month and be very bland, but I'll try to get a few big days throughout the month.

So, who gets to be unilaterally hated by everyone on the site this month?

I hope the team competition will be interesting this time, the last one was kind a flop idea,

And the complain fest about spamming (which so very rarely happens will start again!

Anyway, I don't think I will be able to score much considering how busy my life is. It is a good thing that this Tour starts on a Saturday so I have time to compete a little and get a few rainbow banners. I will not catch up to Zander but at least second place will be hard to catch up to.

As I'm sure anyone who's paying attention already noticed, I'm only trying for one Jersey this month. I'm still going to take full advantage of the Double CP days, but the Rainbow shall find a new home this time around lol.

That said, if anyone gets on pace to threaten my record, I may put up a fight if I have the time for it

It's not as bad as it was a year or two ago (subjectively, anyway... back then it was absolutely awful), but it's still not a fun time, in general haha.

I mean, not to point fingers (not my intent, anyways), but just to give you an idea of what sort of things happen during the TDV that are not common in non-TDV months, we can take a look at your posts.

18 of your 53 posts in the past 24 hours have been in either Crazy House or Game Reviews. Putting aside my general disdain for Crazy House in recent years (I've made like 23 posts in Crazy House in the past year), most of your posts in the reviews forum were just saying basic things like how it was a "good review" and then stretching things out.

In the end, that probably doesn't matter, and as far as I know, it's not against the rules either, but my disdain for the TDV comes out right there, it's usually posts like that that get a huge uptick during the TDV that you wouldn't see in a non-TDV month (to illustrate this, you've made 23 posts in Game Reviews the past 60 days, 8 in the past day alone).

I could keep going on about specific things and what not, but it's late.

I'll just leave it short and say that the TDV makes it difficult for me to have a legitimate discussion or conversation with anyone, unless that discussion is related to the TDV and how it makes it harder to have a legitimate discussion or conversation with anyone. That's why I subjectively dislike it. It also seems to invite a lot of negative emotions like I alluded to in my last post in this thread. People can try all they want to keep things fair and happy, but somebody always ends up either getting butthurt, or b****ed out by somebody because they are "posting too much" within the rules. The issue is that so much of spam is subjective. There are objectively spammy things like posting "XD" over and over and over (like someone recently did for like 13k or someodd words), and then there are subjectively spammy things like posting the same basic concept in 10 threads for word count.

That's all. This wasn't really directed at you, just wanted to point out how people who complain about "spam" aren't really "wrong". It doesn't mean they are right, either, mind, because it's 100% subjective once you get past the stuff the mods automatically get rid of. Your idea of spam is going to be different from mine, and mine and yours will be different from David's or the mods. And theirs will be different from a new member who has been on other boards in the past and signed up today. And that's fine.

EDIT - Just to add one more point to my general thesis... this post itself can be considered spam, because I took a lot of words to say something that I neatly summarized at the end, even though I mainly backed up my arguments.

There's all kinds of spam out there. It's just a matter of hoping you aren't going over some invisible line that everyone judges differently.

So tomorrow yesterday I managed to get 7 points.

Not that bad honestly. I was hoping to get one more but I guess the universe didn't want me to :v.

At least it's better than last TdV where I got one amirite.
