I think I mentioned this in another thread, but my favorite one (and the only one I play regularly) is Project M, which is a mod of Brawl. I do recommend it for anyone willing to try it.

TheFadedWarrior : I liked super smash bros brawl the most. It's music and stages in particular. Final destination was a killer back then and It's music completely blowed me away!

I guess that would be Project M. It's not as ridiculously hard as Melee. Of course, I like all the Smash games (except Brawl OH SNAP! Just kidding except not really)

These are the best Smash games, in my opinion, from best to worst:
Project M: Made by fans, for fans. We can make the games however we like.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U: I'd be playing it 24/7 if I had the GameCube Controller Adapter.
Super Smash Bros. Melee: Wavedashing and L-cancelling.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS: I guess this one is decent. I spent quite some time playing For Glory on it before Super Smash Bros. for Wii U came out.
Super Smash Bros.: Ah, the Nintendo 64 original. This one is alright, it's just a little lacking.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Ugh. I beat it, and it's by no means a bad game, but it's the worst Super Smash Bros. game.

Also, I tied Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Project M.

Petraplexity: That's probably exactly how I would order them. Good way of describing Project M, by the way. I guess that's why it's my favorite. It's like clay that the community molds. Every coming update adds more game balance without destructively nerfing or overly buffing any characters, as well as making some amazing alternate costumes and stages. And when I say amazing, I mean amazing.
