zanderlex : Oh .....ok well then, thanks for explaining. Also this competition explains the poor quality  posts and thread replies here. I was beginning to think no one could make a decent post or start up a decent debate or conversation that didn't revolve around Pokemon but I guess this explains why that is.

You aren't the only one concerned about the low quality of posts during the TDV. In fact, a large contingent of active users agree with you.

The hope is, one day, the TDV will be closer to the vision David had, than what it currently is.

legacyme3 : If the quality of posts and replies to posts suffer as bad as it seems with this competition in place,why have a competition such as this? But I guess a competition like this makes Vizzed unique (forum wise) although it does remind me a tad bit of another forum site called Xeogaming. Anyways for anyone competing, enjoy competing (I don't mean to discourage the competition or the mood towards it remember this is just a opinion).

The DQ's that occur...are they automatically done at midnight server time? Or do the mods go back and check to see who needs to be DQ'd and then all DQ's occurs?

Also, this month needs to end soon, because the uncompetitive pace of this TdV is unbearable.

I actually find this funny as I got to the top 5 for the red jersey. The funny part is that I wasn't even trying, let alone trying to get it as well. I was surprised to see my name there though....

Davideo7 : Well since this is the second time I was called or received a notification to this thread I want to ask you a question and or give a suggestion.(Might as well ask it here considering I don't really care for this competition)

David, how come there is a limit to how many times a user can receive Viz and Contribution Points for another user rating their video and screen shots? 

Here is my suggestion on that matter
- I would like to suggest taking off the contribution point limit for the amount of times per day you can receive Viz and Contribution Points for someone rating your screen shots and videos(especially since I upload video's using my own youtube account). I find this limit insulting because you are taking the time out of your day for your amusement and to help others progress in a video game by making a video type guide or a screen shot but the up-loader can only receive a certain amount of Viz and Contribution Points per day each time some one rates the video or screen shot. What really adds insult to injury is when you receive notifications that some one has rated your video or screen shot and it says " You gained 0 Viz and 0.0 contribution points!" this makes me not want to add anymore content, (rather it be video or screen shot ) to the retro game room game pages and it makes me feel as if my work is unappreciated.

There's a flip side to every story, unfortunately.

While I agree, that it hurts to have a limit put in place, because it hurts people who genuinely care about the site, and want to add content... there are those who would abuse it.

We've had numerous people cheat CP/Viz before. And I imagine that if the limit was removed, that it would return.

I do think the limit should be raised however.

legacyme3 : What if the limit raises, but after a certain amount, the amount you receive decreases. Lets say the limit is 10 with 20 Viz each. First 10 would be 20, then next 5 would be 15, next 5 would be 10, and so on.

legacyme3 : How could it be abused if there's also and already a limit on how many times a user can rate a video or screen shot anyways? There is a limit on how many times a user can rate a video or screen shot and a limit on how many times a day you can receive Viz and Contribution Points when a user rates your video. I go over the limit for how many times a day users  rate  your video constantly and it really depress's me when I get a notification such as this  "Video Rated by (insert user name here) for (insert game name here): You've earned 0.0 Contribution Points and 0.0 Viz.  Could you atleast get a roll over type thing?Like for example since I went over the limit today could the extra Contribution Points and Viz be received tomorrow? or something like that. 

(I didn't mean to get off the threads topic, this is just a concern I thought I should run by David)

Re-registrations. In the past (and still to this day) people cheat the Viz and CP system by using the referal system to bring in "new" users (who are really just alternate accounts a user makes). I assume if the limit was raised or eliminated, people would use their alternate accounts to cheat this CP as well. It'd still be easy to track and rescind falsely gotten CP, but it's a lot of work that can be pre-empted by simply not raising the limit.

In short, there will always be a way to cheat the CP/Viz system.

And as much as it sucks, it only takes one person to ruin it for everyone.

I don't know what David's stance on the matter is though. That's just my own.

legacyme3 : Makes sense then I guess, but it still sucks like you said, for people who want to add content to the site. Guess it's just something you have to deal with. Razor-987 : Thanks. But yesterday was a slow day, so me getting all four jerseys isn't as big of a deal as people think it is. It'd be one thing if there was legitimate competition, but a couple of updates for my RP and a few extra posts pretty much sealed it. It's no fun when there's noone to compete against.
