It's good to see that I am one of the top five, despite hardly competing this month, do any of you plan on competing just to get a few ensurance points? If yes, MAYBE (most probably not) I can try to earn a few points to keep being top 5.

I didn't competed this much this month because Singelli appeared and got a huge lead quickly, and when I were competing on the same day as her she were faster and could make huge posts because of the stories or RP, whatever.

Yeah, probably Singelli dominated this month Tour de Vizzed by having EVERYTHING from the Tour de Vizzed, the white AND rainbow banner, and ALL 4 Jerseys.

She took away the fun of the Tour de Vizzed very quickly :/

Seishiro Leonhart : Was still a fun TdV. Can't wait for the Winter addition. Maybe next TdV Singelli won't post as much (don't bet on it as I expect more story chapters to be uploaded).

First off, I didn't only post rp's and stories.  In fact, I think I only posted four.  I contributed in many other ways, and most were pretty meaningful.  I never spammed, and I made sure my posts encouraged more conversation instead of making pointless comments like "Yeah, I agree!"

Second of all, I never meant to discourage anyone.  I even told you Seishiro, that I would stop competing, and for the last two weeks, I have not competed.  There was plenty of time for someone to catch up and take the lead.

That being said, having everyone so upset definitely bummed me out a bit.  It was never my intention and if I could withdraw every one of my points, I would.

I don't plan on competing again.

And Oldschool, I didn't upload any of those stories.  I wrote them on the days they were posted, because I believe copy pasting something already written is a cheap way to win.

Please forgive me for zapping the fun out of the game.  It won't happen again.

Singelli : You weren't causing any problems. Part of the blame should be on us for not competing as hard as you did! Don't say that if you had a choice to withdraw all your points you would. What is done is done, don't try to ponder on the past, instead head forward into the future!



Edit: I feel a little sad that you decided not to compete again.

Oldschool41 :  Don't be sad about it.  I'll post like normal, and if I get a jersey, I get a jersey.  But I certainly won't TRY to get them.  I'd rather the rest of the community participate and not be discouraged.  There's no point in winning something when there is no competition because no one feels like they can succeed.

Singelli : Don't feel bummed about it. You did nothing wrong. We have had users in the past who were super competitive with TDV and VCS months, and they took the fun out of it by just borderline spam posting so they could barely get away with it, and go to measures such as preparing long posts before the month started. Or they would open up 10 windows at once so they could make multiple posts within seconds. That kind of stuff is what takes the fun out of it.

You, on the other hand, did not do this. I did not see a single time this month where anyone had to get onto you for excessive spamming, copy/pasting large posts from other places hoping to pass it as your own, etc. It was all fair in square. Thing is, this might be the first time someone has done this well and not spammed the board to do it, so it is hard for people to see that you did it fairly. 

Singelli : I agree with rcarter... you played fair and got all the points you got legitimately. You weren't cheap like other people in this very competition were. You should be proud of what you accomplished while not stooping down to low levels in order to achieve it.

I honestly wouldn't worry if it supposedly sapped the fun out of it for others. They're just mad that they couldn't keep up but that's not really you fault. That's them not being able to figure out how to post more and quicker than you.

I think the most impressive part of your TDV run is that you did it while being employed as a teacher. I would imagine that job gives you a lot of work to do and I don't imagine it's super easy to work around your responsibilities to post all day long. You were able to find 1-2 hour periods to stop by and shoot out tons of meaningful posts in a short amount of time. Me, I only work part time and am otherwise home all day and still can't post as much as you do :p

Aww you guys are both so nice.  I suspected at the beginning of the competition though, that my swamping the competition was a huge part of the reason people were voting me negatively as far as trust points go.  Although the trust point system is flawed, it helped me realize that I perhaps competed a bit too hard.

I understand and appreciate what both of you are saying though.  I also happen to agree in the fact that I played fairly.

I simply don't want other people to be discouraged.  I like to see other people having fun, and there was more than one person that lost their fun as far as this TdV went.  It's fine and I understand why they felt that way.  If I was competing in a 500 meter dash and someone made 250 meters before I made 10, I'd feel discouraged no matter how fairly they competed.

As for the comment on how I managed it, it was NOT easy, Li.  LOL There are two reasons I was able to do it:  A.  We have a block schedule meaning I have about 2 hours of free time while at school.  Normally I would grade during that time, but another teacher uses my room during that 2 hour block and I have nowhere to spread my papers.  We don't have a teacher lounge, and the library is about 30 degrees cooler than my comfort level, so I usually end up sitting at my computer the whole time.

I ALWAYS work at home, and I've wondered at my husband's gracious ability to handle it.  As soon as I get home, I'm taking the papers out to grade, and I usually keep at it until it's time for bed.  However, I have this strange nuance where I can't keep focused unless I am multi-tasking.  So I was working and grading, and then posting in between papers.  I know it's strange, but I've ALWAYS done it... in the past I simply did it on a role -playing site, posting my characters' actions in between papers I graded.
