Singelli : You still have a huge lead in the overall yellow jersey competition. In fact, you have a huge lead in all of the overall jersey competitions and the rainbow banner. It's looking like you'll be wearing everything all next month, which has never happened.

Oh, for some odd reason I was under the impression that only rainbow banners get to be worn for the following month.  Huh, how interesting.

Well, I don't want to discourage anyone, but it'd be pretty cool to be a first of vizzed.  

That being said, green really isn't my forte.  I hate making short posts. LOL  I always feel like I have so much more to day.  I guess I'm just too talkative.  

Singelli : All 4 jerseys and both banners are worn for the entire month following the Tour de Vizzed.

You've managed to get points for the overall Green Jersey without spamming, which is very rare. The next Tour de Vizzed may not have the Green Jersey (it'll probably be replaced with a new jersey), I really want to try and make a lot of changes for the 2013 Tour de Vizzed competitions to prevent spamming. I've got lots of ideas, it's just going to be a matter of finding the time to implement all of those ideas but I've got 2 full months to do them after this TdV ends so hopefully I can get them implemented.

At the end of the month, do you think you could pull up a table to see how this Tour de Vizzed's activity was in relation to the last three? I'm curious to compare activity, because it feels like there is less activity this time around.

It's probably just more people in the middle of the pack and only posting one or two days of the month, which is deceiving me, but when I do the team results for the Tour de Vizzed, it appears like none of the "common" posters are really posting. Add to that, that no mods are in the top 10 14 days into the competition.

legacyme3 : Really? Because I feel like there's been more activity. We've never had a month with so many 1000+ post days.

If I have time at the end of the competition, I'll try to come up with some fun stats.

Because we did have all those high activity days I think it's entirely possible I'm wrong, because the only people really posting are the new people.

I'm more focused on mod activity in general to begin with which is what brought the thought up.

I'll have to remember to compare mod activity in this tour to those in the past.

And of course, in my last post, I meant to write that I feel like I have more to SAY.  Sorry, I'm running off four hours of sleep  

As for the green jersey, I do have to agree that it's not the best of ideas.  I'd love to help with ideas if you still need any, or if you need any work and I'm capable, I'd love to help in any capacity I am able.  I enjoy being an active member of this site.

Davideo7 : Can I make a recommendation for the replacement of the Green jersey in next TDV?

I think we need another jersey that rewards post quality over quantity. As it stands, we have only 1 jersey that can be truly won with just making a long post (and you only need the one). The blue jersey is purely numbers, the green jersey is speed+numbers, and the yellow jersey can technically be won by people who make multiple posts with more content... but it can also be won by sheer numbers.

I think you want another jersey that focuses on post length in some fashion. Perhaps average words per post? That's the only thing I can really think of to reward people who spend time putting thought into making their posts have actual content and don't just spam one-liners for the sake of getting the numbers.

Crazy Li : I think you'd be super great at that Li.  I mean, of most the posters here, I'd say your posts were consistently of great quality.  Your posts are far more consistent than even mine, despite the fact that I try to make every post meaningful.

It looks like the competition is /finally/ slowing down. I decided I wasn't going to participate (actively) after the first 20 points until the competition died down some - didn't see a point in wasting my time trying to be Singelli out. (Lol)

Welp, competition.... looks like I'm back in for the rest of the month. And not a moment too soon, I'd say. Fifteen days to beat Singelli's 199? I only know that's possible because she got that high in a few days...

The only thing I stand a chance at is yellow at this point... but even then, I could still lose even if I were to win the yellow jersey every single day for the rest of the month. Considering I'm down a whole 23 points, I not only need to place 1st all those times, but I need Singelli to NOT place 2nd. She has so many points that just getting 4 a day for the rest of the month would be good enough to secure 1st overall no matter what.

If I actually try to compete... I could more than likely walk away with 2nd place in everything but green at month's end... but I doubt I'll really care enough to try to make sure that happens. I'll just continue having fun at my own pace and whatever happens happens.

I thought I had around 6000 words for yellow when i went to bed.  Did one of my posts not get counted, or was I really just that tired?  I'm leaning towards tired because I don't spam or plagiarize...

Crazy Li :  Did you actually do the math on that, or was that a hypothetical guess?  

And man, looking at Ktanaqui: s results today, I doubt very much I'm going to stay in the running. It's only 6:33 am for me, and I have a VERY, VERY long day.    13 hours of work, plus tons of papers to grade.  *sighs*  Grades are due next week, so yeah.... I'll be uber busy.
