hackerman : The battle arena and vizzed ville are separate things.  Vizzed Ville would be more of a co-op game (although the battle arena would have a co-op mode).

yeah.... the only person who would be a challenge would be David.

In fact... that would be really fun to watch at this point. Our stats would be pretty even right now considering how close our post counts are.... we would have to record it or something so people could watch.

If I bought all the items you bought, than yeah it'd be an even match and it'd be fun to allow people to watch/view it in some way.  If I made instructions on how to use the battle arena, I could make our fight the demo fight that people would view in order to learn how to play lol.

true... but I was never a fan of the battle arena... I prefer having a battle system that is established and the formulas determine the outcome....

it would be a fun match to have if we were ever to have it though.

You're saying something that requires absolutely no strategy and is automatically determined by stats?

not quite... there would still be strategy in how the battle was done... with items, and changing up attacks and such.... but really, with the way things are now there isn't much else but stats to go on.

geeogree : Well with the battle arena, I'll be adding new types of stats, changing up the items a bit and adding a few other things.  I'd really like the battle arena to be 25-50% strategy, 25-50% stats and 25% luck.  I'd really like for someone with low stats to have a chance to beat someone with high stats but still give the person with high stats a big advantage.  Otherwise it'd be stupid for anyone to challenge us if the stats completely determined who won and would making having high stats pointless since no one would battle you.

Not sure if you're familiar with the Pokemon card game (i'm sure other card games work this way) but you could have a weak Pokemon and a strong Pokemon and the weak is capable of beating the strong if you don't plan things properly because the strong Pokemon usually require more energy cards to use and sometimes a strong Pokemon could be weak against the weaker Pokemon if the weaker Pokemon is water and the stronger Pokemon is fire.  That's just an example.

yeah... I don't want it to be stats only.... my comment about set formulas was not well explained...

I like the break down you have on how things would play out....

and I would love to see things like spells, items, critical hits, dodge... and so on be incorporated.... and I want to see a lower level person be able to beat a higher level person if they use a really good strategy. However, with 2 competent opponents, the person with the higher stats should win 50%+ of the battles.

geeogree : Yeah so maybe the forumula should be:
50% stats
25% strategy
25% luck

or maybe
50% stats
40% strategy
10% luck

I usually don't like when stuff involves to much luck but with stuff like this you need  at least a small bit of luck involved.  Either way, probably 50% of it should be based on stats.

Given it's placement in the Vizzed.com section, I am going to make a guess that it's either a battle forum or something to do with the the Traveling Tyrant game that you've been working on.

Could there be an activity that teaches normal users on how to be a Local Mod etc.

I really can't wait to see what this is.

It just may be the most amazing thing this site has seen in a long time.

legacyme3 : Well the biggest hint that I can give out, which I've sorta given out already, is that the feature is something that'll help drive in lots of traffic and it's something I've been looking forward to implementing for many months.

I am completely stumped on what this could be. I was thinking that the battle arena or vizzed ville would already increase traffic greatly because people have been talking about it for so long now. But if you think this will increase traffic more than that, I am anxious to see what it is.

rcarter2 : I think this would increase traffic more than the Battle Arena but probably not more than Vizzed Ville, probably about the same as Vizzed Ville.  However, Vizzed Ville and Battle Arena would increase the returning traffic more than the feature I have planned, I can confess that.
