Son of Anakin Skywalker and focal point of the second trilogy of Star Wars films. He studied the Jedi arts under Obi-Wan Kenobi who ironically also trained his father, Anakin, who eventually strayed from the light when he let himself be swayed by personal love for another, opening the door for the dark path to dominate his thoughts and actions. His mother, Padme Skywalker, died giving birth to him and his twin sister, Princess Leia Organa. Luke would go on to take part in the Battle of Yavin and fired the torpedoes that ultimately destroyed the first Death Star battle station.
