Oh, yes, The Guardian Legend. This title is my favorite of the US-released NES games (my absolute favorite is Earthbound Zero). I would not say this is a perfect NES game; rather, it encapsulates all that was the NES. The graphics are humble yet beautiful, the music is limited yet catchy, the gameplay is simple yet refined. What makes this my favorite, though, isn't just that, it's also the traits that are typical of a NES game: relentless onslaught of enemies right on the first level (Castlevania), wonky learning curve (almost every NES game ever, possibly excluding the Mario ones), exploration with a minimum of navigational assistance (think playing Zelda 2nd quest for the first time), flickering sprites everywhere (...it's a NES...NES's do that), secret 2nd game... sort of (SMB, Zelda1, Metroid, Donkey Kong, and more), basically if I had to pick a single game to represent both the positives and the negatives of the NES but still make it enjoyable, it would be The Guardian Legend.

Oh, my sweet, summer child.

This game may have its masochistic moments, but its challenge is nothing compared to Phantasy Star I or II (a game with only 3 bosses, weirdly enough, yet far more expansive than Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest), let alone some of the old, old, really old "PC" RPGs.

I will say, though, that while these are overall harder, FF7 does, in fact, take the cake as far as most ridiculously hard moments. I never quite did figure out all the Weapons, I got too impatient. The first time I played it, though, my impatience was my undoing. I used a GameShark and maxed out everyone's levels; well, apparently, Sephiroth's stats are increased by a ludicrous amount for every individual party member at level 99. Needless to say, I raged so hard, I didn't pick up the game again until 5 years later. Did it the right way, but still was too impatient to deal with all the Weapons. I mean, come on; 60 hours is WAY too long on a single non-New Game+ PSX RPG.

Star Wars franchise, as in video games? Yes. Star Wars franchise, as in movies? No, not really. I know too many people who claim, "Yeah, I like Science Fiction; Star Wars is awesome!" when they've never even heard of books like Childhood's End or Xenocide. Saying you like Sci-Fi because you like Star Wars is like saying you like metal because you like Metallica's Load. This is why I don't like Star Wars.

The person below me... hasn't heard of Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke before.

Granted, but it gets hotter and hotter, till you peel the top 5 layers of skin off. Let's just say it really hurts to sit now.

I wish for a new metal band to get hooked on. I still haven't really found anyone new I really like since I got into All That Remains.

Microsoft. Because Microsoft and Apple have been kinda/sorta rivals since Windows 3.x, even though Microsoft has some major roots on the original Apple Macintosh series.

Nope. Never heard of it. Honestly, I haven't played a Pokémon game in almost 10 years. (FYI, my favorite is Charizard)

The person below me also doesn't really like Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.

I deflect the Empoleons with a wall (you attacked me with Pokémon; you didn't have them attack me), then throw a grenade over the wall at you.

I use PK Rockin Ω or whatever custom name you used in Earthbound.
