Back in '88, people were angry that an actor known for "comedic roles" - Keaton - was up to play the Bat. Fans cheered when it opened.

Back before X-Men, people were upset that Hugh Jackman - known for his 'romantic' roles - was slated to play the Wolverine.  Fans now want him to stay til he's in a walker.

Back in 2007, "fans" were crying that Heath Ledger was playing the Joker, now an iconic role for him.

Me?  I'm going to give him a chance, watch the movie and, judging from history, smile at what will probably be the most beloved batman yet. That said, please, God, give Laughing Boy a break, ok?

Part of the problem is that the Apocalypse of St. John is too easy to view with a preconceived idea and then make doctrine from.  The idea of a literal 1000 year reign, the the "final battle" never made much sense.

I personally use the Jerusalem Bible, although I am currently saving up for an Orthodox Study Bible.  The KJV is ok, in fact the "love chapter" is absolutely gorgeous in the archaic English, but beyond that, not a real big fan of King Jimmy's attempt to make himself look good in the ol' history books....
