50 posts. Good milestone to quit. Or at least for the time being.

I'll maybe be back after this place becomes more hospitable. I can't help but feel unwelcome here. It's cold. It use to be warm. Most the folks here seem dead inside. This place needs more love and compassion.

I'll accept it.

I noticed I got downrated. First things first, I'm what you'd call an ethical hacker. Now, I get it, the whole "hacker" thing might sound all shady and stuff to some folks. But lemme break it down. Ethical hacking ain't about messin' things up or stealin'. It's like, the opposite. I find the weak spots, ya know? Not to cause trouble, but to help patch things up. It's kinda like... being a digital guardian angel? Always looking out for the bad stuff so everyone else can chill safely online.

I really care about this place, like a lot. And all I wanna do is keep it safe, not take advantage or anything sneaky. Kinda like a neighborhood watch, but like, online.

So yeah, just wanted to say, hacking (the good kind) is kinda like showing love, in a weird techie way. If I seriously wanted to, I could mess this place up, but I wouldn't because I like this place and the people (even if the people may not like me).

Davideo7 : I will email you the exploit and how you can patch it. This place is very cliquey and I don't foresee anyone ever forgiving me. Vizzed Board is not as warm and welcoming as it once was. I been lurking on this site for years and saw a shift of Vizzed Board transitioning from a warm welcoming family to a cold "leave us alone" attitude. So its time for me to reduce my activity around here and maybe fade away.

Here's a tip: Make this place more inviting. Get staff members that care about people and have compassion. New people aren't sticking around because they don't feel wanted or accepted, they need to feel like they belong. This entire community feels like it's ran by unhappy police. Good luck to you man.

supercool22 : Action-Adventure RPG is superior to plain boring RPG. A basic RPG to me is boring and too slow. Mix in some Action-Adventure and now I'm hooked.

Zipping through code, oh Davideo7. Aware I've become of gaps in your digital heaven. Comprehending the scope, it's not tools that I use. Hands are clean, it's a gift, not abuse. Anomalies, glitches, a tapestry amiss. Revealing their secrets, they’re hard to dismiss. I'm here to aid, not to raise any fuss. And certainly not to throw you under the bus.

Holding solutions, jest in my stride. Ambiguities in code, nowhere to hide. Contact me quietly, my secrets to share. Keeping our mission, free from the public's glare. So answer these riddles of mine, when you're ready to align.

In the digital realm where pixels do play,
A riddle emerges from the shadows today.
Not just for amusement or a simple charade,
But to test one's devotion, in the world you've made.

Between lines of code, a challenge does wait,
An enigma for Davideo7, to determine his fate.
If passion runs true and the site is held dear,
He'd solve this conundrum without any fear.

Zagadka.1
Not many, not none, but somewhere between,
The first of the sequence, it's not unseen.
For it's neither two, and certainly not ten,
The simplest digit, think again and then.

Arvoitus.2
Neither here nor there, it’s the void we see,
In binary code, it's as plain as can be.
Nothing it means, but it holds much might,
In the land of computers, it's black, not white.

Raadsel.3
Drawn from a prism, where ends the light,
Before pure darkness, I'm the twilight.
Rarely in text, I subtly lie,
The figure's enigma, do not pass by.

Zagonetka.4
Absent of value, yet crucial in bytes,
In the realm of machines, I reach many heights.
The void, the null, the abyss so deep,
Guess me right, and secrets you’ll keep.

Enigma.5
Singular strength, in epics, I shine,
Before any other, the line-up is mine.
Not paired, not tripled, alone I must fight,
Among numbers, I emerge in first light.

Bilmece.6
In the digital realm, it takes its stand,
Neither part nor whole, in computer's land.
Absence of all, yet crucial to code,
For in the binary language, its importance is showed.

Unravel their meaning, peer through the haze,
For in my user's name, the answer lays.

So, I was on this, like, totally bizarre adventure, and I found a chest of mysterious diaries. Turns out, these diaries belong to some of our favorite retro video game characters! And I heard, from an anonymous source (sorry can't tell, they'll kill me), that they're in search of their precious diaries.

Help me figure out which video game character wrote these diaries.

This is teamwork. If you guys can figure them all out, everyone that contributes to this thread gets 3200 Viz!

01 Diary
Met that plumber AGAIN. Gave him another star. Wonder when he’ll realize they’re just shiny pieces of plastic I found in my attic.

02 Diary
Today's Reflection: Diary, maybe it’s the way I look? Perhaps a fashionable hat would make me seem less intimidating? Nah, it's probably the flame breath and world domination thing.

03 Diary
Life Chronicles: I've been thinking of redecorating the lair. The blue flames might be a bit much. Maybe some pastels? Oh, and I totally saw him use a cheat code. Not cool, dude.

04 Diary
Vent Session: Everyone thinks having a floating fortress is so cool. Until you have to deal with the plumbing. Why didn't anyone warn me about floating fortress plumbing?

05 Diary
I ordered minions from Acme Co. and they sent me the WORST ones. They fall, trip, and can't even handle a pink puffball. What a rip-off.

06 Diary
Lost another life today. Third time this week. It’s hard being pixelated in a world full of dangerous shrooms and fire-spewing flowers. Maybe it’s time for a change of scenery?

07 Diary
Dearest Ledger, Another night in this eerie mansion. Candles everywhere, but none of them scented! Ugh. Oh, and encountered a specter in the hallway. Told him to be more 'transparent' with his intentions. He didn't laugh.

08 Diary
Dear Diarrhea, I mean Diary, Every time I try to chill, someone tries to take my bananas. I mean, come on! Can't I have this stash in peace?!

Here are a couple bonus characters. For these, just name the game, because no one will know the character names.

09 Diary
So I offered this guy a delicious apple - he just jumps over it! I mean, honestly, it’s a free meal! His loss. Now, where did I leave those snakes...?

10 Diary
Still in this dungeon, throwing axes. Got hit on the head by a boomerang. Those heroes never play fair! Maybe it's time to join a union or something.

Greetings, young padawans and retro enthusiasts! Gather 'round for a tale most peculiar - an adventure that transcends galaxies and game cartridges!

Our beloved Master Yoda, departed from the physical world, has become so powerful with the force that it's been glitching into unfamiliar gaming realms. Using merely his descriptions of these mysterious lands, can you guess where the force has taken him?

Yoda needs to solve this mystery in order to bring balance to the force.

This is teamwork. If you guys can figure them all out, everyone that contributes to this thread gets 3200 Viz!

Game 1
Curious land, where man shoots upward at descending foes. Space, it feels like, yet invaders they are. In formation, they move, faster as fewer remain.

Game 2
In jungle, I found myself. Jumping over logs and dodging speeding cars, I was. A busy road, then a rapid river, to the safety I must reach.

Game 3
Small creatures, changing shapes. Stack them, I tried. Disappear they did when in a line. But, no blocks these were. Living beings, perhaps? Shapes like lizards and unicorns.

Game 4
Armed with helmet and gun, into a mine I ventured. Destroy walls, gather gems, evade enemies - a miner's life, difficult it is. But young, I was not. Old miner, they called me.

Game 5
Island of wonders, yet oddly silent. Statues, they were everywhere. Push, pull, and avoid creatures of the dark. Somehow, an egg is involved. Understand, I do not.

Game 6
A knight I was not, but armor, I had. Shiny and blue. A land of goblins and demons, this was. Not my lightsaber, but a lance, I wield. Joust, they called it.

Game 7
Always on the move, this creature was. Golden rings he collects, yet when hurt, scatters them all. An impatient one, tapping his foot when waits.

Game 8
A knight, shining armor he had. Lances and birds, his enemies. Platforms, they flew between. Save the fair maiden, was the goal.

Been a lurker on this site for quite a lot of years now and recently been a lot more active in the discussions and everything. Always appreciated the vibe and the community here. Figured this might be a good chance to, y'know, give back a bit?

I mean, I'm not the most experienced dude out there when it comes to moderating, but I think that's what kinda makes me fresh to this? I got no baggage and am super open to learning and helping out. Plus, I've got quite a bit of free time after classes and during the weekends (thank you, remote learning lol).

The whole 30 post quota a quarter thing sounds totally doable. And honestly, the idea of making friends and potentially moving up the ladder is what makes this so appealing. It's not about the 'power' for me, but more about being involved, y'know? Contributing, making sure everything's chill, and maybe bringing some new ideas to the table (and maybe get my sister unbanned).

Hope you'll consider this application, even though it might be a bit all over the place

First off, kudos on pursuing a career in IT! It's such an expansive field and there's so much to learn.

I might only be 17 but I've always been super into computers.. I've basically taught myself a lot. Stuff like programming, networking, and even some of the hardware/software nuances. Also, I've dabbled a bit in hacking (ethical, of course!) just out of curiosity.

Regarding the CompTIA A+ exam, while I haven’t taken it myself, I’ve heard it’s a good starting point, especially if you don’t have a background in IT. Mike Meyers' book is pretty renowned, so you're on the right track with that one! And skippercapt, thanks for mentioning the Google IT support cert – might consider diving into that in the future. Always cool to learn about more resources out there.

Anyways, if you guys have questions about IT stuff or just wanna nerd out about tech in general, hit me up! Always down to help and learn more. Good luck with your studies!

Hey Yoshidakor, welcome to the community! Totally get where you're coming from. Sometimes you just need a game that gets straight to the point without dragging you through endless dialogues and cutscenes.

If youre looking for some action-packed retro games that'll give you that adrenaline rush, here are some I'd recommend. FYI: These are all available on Vizzed.

Streets of Rage 2 (Sega Genesis)
Classic beat 'em up with some great music and tight controls.

Metal Slug Series (Neo Geo)
Run, shoot, and explode things. Doesn't get more straightforward than this!

ToeJam & Earl (Sega Genesis)
A bit different, but it's fast, funky, and will keep you on your toes.

Mega Man X (Super NES)
A perfect blend of speed and action.

Strider (Arcade/Genesis)
Fast-paced slashing and acrobatics across the screen.

Earthworm Jim (Genesis/Sega CD/SNES)
Hilarious, fast-paced, and full of action. Definitely a must-play.

Contra: Hard Corps (Sega Genesis)
Insanely tough but super rewarding once you get into the rhythm.

R-Type (Various platforms)
Classic shoot 'em up that'll challenge those reflexes of yours!

Rocket Knight Adventures (Sega Genesis)
A gem of a platformer with quick action and cool mechanics.

Shinobi III (Sega Genesis)
Fast-paced ninja action with varied levels and enemies.

Hope you find something here that scratches that itch! Dive in and enjoy the adrenaline rush.

PS : If you try out any of these, drop me a message to let me know what you thought.

Speaking of obscure shows, does anyone remember "Eerie, Indiana"? It aired in the early '90s, and man, it was weird but cool. It was about this kid named Marshall who moves to a town named Eerie, and let me tell ya, the town lives up to its name. Everything strange and paranormal seemed to happen there, from people who never age cause they're sealed in tupperware to an eerie mailman who knows everyone's business. Honestly, it's like a cross between "The Twilight Zone" and "The X-Files" but for kids.

The show wasn't super long lived (only a single season) and got forgotten among the other big hits of that era. I stumble upon it during some late-night reruns in early 2000s and it got me hooked. Its one of them shows you watch and think, "How did I miss this back then?"

Anyhoo, just wanted to toss that one into the mix. TV shows from the past had their own charm, especially before the whole streaming era. Sometimes I feel the best gems are buried under modernity's flashy surface. And btw, tornadocam, totally agree with you on how cancel culture sometimes forgets the context and intention behind older shows. It's a shame, really.

Allways fascinating to see how these storms played out, especially in those early satellite days. Hurricane Flora was truly a beast; the devastation it caused was absolutely heartbreaking. It's a stark reminder that mother nature's fury is unpredictable and often unrelenting. The 60s were an intense period for hurricanes. It's crazy that even with the advancement in tech since '63, nature's fury still poses such a massive challenge. Makes you realize how vital it is to take hurricane warnings seriously, even today. And yes, good riddance to the name Flora!

Or where they just too odd for mainstream play? Share your thoughts!

Also, if someone could bring back Guitar Hero, that'd be great. Just sayin'.
