Well, I'm currently stuck at Chapter Ten (writers block) I'm going or hoping to get it traditionally published, though. |

I've tried not to be cringy on Vizzed, as I have made the mistake on many websites before. If you've seen what I've seen and done, you'd be sitting here having an "oh god why" moment right next to me. |

zanderlex : IKR. I get paid $20 an article + the owner of the website just added a fanfiction category to the site. Considering I have a metric ton of SW fanfiction, I can say that this job is a good job. |

10. Here's a little excerpt from a thing I'm writing: Her mind had turned the voices that made her hate herself into actual physical demons – at least, that’s what they seemed like. In her terror and self-hatred, her subconscious had altered their appearances to make them more horrifying than they truly were. The four of them all stared down at her with snake-like eyes, their pupils long and thin. She tried to back away, but she found herself frozen in place, unable to move. Once upon a time, in a world beyond Vizzed, there was a young girl, her name in the worlds barely known. The tiny girl was simply flipping from one world to another one day, when she came across the name Neverending Nightmares. Curious, she went to the information world and looked it up. It was on that day the girl discovered how cool and mysterious the game was, but she was unable to play it, as it cost real money. The game stuck with her, though, forever tucked into a little corner of her huge brain, so that the dormant memories would be pulled out when something reminded her of it. Two years later, the girl was in the world of Vizzed, where she had some Viz in her hand. There, in the bustling Vizzed Market, something vaguely familiar caught her eye. It was a game. She recognized the art style, as it was very unique. The girl racked her brain, sifting through her active, short-term memories, looking for any trace of why it was so familiar. Finally, she looked at the title. There, scrawled across the game, to make it look creepy, were the words Neverending Nightmares. The memories flooded her brain, and she smiled down at her Viz. She had just enough to buy the game. “Sara, you’re going to have a wonderful time.” She told herself. She bought the horror game, rushing to the gaming world, ready to play. This is my review of this game. Graphics – 7 The graphics are very unique. Everything looks like it’s hand-drawn, including the shadows, which adds to the tense atmosphere of this game. This is good, especially in a horror game like this one. It’s supposed to put the player on edge as they explore the halls of the game. The colors are mostly black-and-white, with the exception of a few colors, such as red (for blood or for a candle you can pick up in the game) or gold. This is also good. The different colors alerts to the player “hey, this thing over here is different, why don’t you go check it out? It could be useful or could advance the story.” The close-ups are also really well drawn. Sometimes, you can get close-up looks at certain things in the game, such as a bloody meat grinder or teeth in the sink, with blood caking the round hollow. All of these three things added together give this section a nine. However, I’ll have to knock some points off because it’s unsettling. I know, I know, you’re thinking, “Sara, what are you saying? Isn’t unsettling supposed to be a good thing when you’re talking about a horror game like Neverending Nightmares?” Well, yes, it is, but only for certain things. The humans in this game just look…off, for some reason. Maybe it’s because of how their eyes are drawn or from the way the two humans you actually see in this game walk, but I can’t put my finger on it. I suppose it’s probably meant to look weird, like everyone’s dead inside, but I’m still taking away some points. Sound – 8 Sound is a very important aspect of a game, especially in horror games. This game actually has two sound options. One is your regular sound, which you can hear from the speakers, and what I had stuck to for the first “nightmare” that you experience. However, the game strongly recommends playing it with headphones. This is because it actually has a “Headphones Mode” where you can get the most optimal experience sound-wise if you’re wearing headphones. If you enable Headphones Mode, you can hear things that you couldn’t normally hear with the speakers. I later decided “screw it, there’s probably no jumpscares in this game, might as well use Headphones Mode” I’m glad I did, because now I can review what Headphones Mode is like. First off, I just want to start with the fact that Headphones Mode causes the game to feel like it’s even scarier. The reason why I say this is because, as I’ve said, Headphones Mode enables you to hear things that you wouldn’t normally be able to hear if you used speakers. This means that I can hear all the ghastly moans and groans that this game has to offer, whereas I could only hear a few of them with my speakers. The music is great. I could only hear it with my headphones on, as I had turned my speaker volume down to nearly 10%, during my initial fear, as I have a little phobia of jumpscares that stems from a certain YouTube video called “test your vision 100% true” but I’m not going to talk about that any further and relive childhood trauma. In Neverending Nightmares, even the title screen song is eerie, which already tells the player “This is a psychological horror game. It’s not for the faint of heart. If you are either pregnant, a child, elderly, have a heart condition, have a nosebleed, have a broken nose, have no nose at all, are a dragon, are a hater of video games, or simply don’t like horror games, exit out of this game now.” Truth be told, even though I’ve wanted this game way before dinosaurs existed, I was thinking that maybe it was a bad idea to play the game. The sound effects and voice acting is very well done. Everything sounds realistic, like the events in the game are really happening in real life to someone. My only complaint is that the voice acting is a little difficult to hear, even with headphones on. The volume is really low, even with my speakers and the game at maximum volume. Thankfully, there’s a subtitle option in the game, but I feel like they put it into the game because they knew that the voice acting was hard to understand. I will have to knock off some points for what could have been a 10 for sound. Addictiveness – 7 Each “level” is a different nightmare. From the two, maybe three screenshots I’ve seen of this game (I only looked at a few to avoid potential spoilers to the ending)¸ there’s a level in a broken down mental hospital, and a level where you’re playing as the protagonist, only he’s a child. However, from the hour I’ve already invested into this game and the first two nightmares you play in, the nightmares take place in a mansion. Whether it’s the protagonist’s mansion or his parents’, I don’t know yet. This is a good setting for a horror game, even if it’s a temporary setting. Mansions, as you may know, are huge. There are about a million different rooms in a mansion, which makes it easier to get lost and easier for the predators to hide and wait for some delicious human flesh. Story – 7 The story of this game already gets interesting, right from the very beginning. After you hit the “Play” button to start the game up, you’re greeted with the first cut scene in Neverending Nightmares. You watch, in a first-person perspective, the horrified face of a young girl, who you will later learn is the protagonist’s sister, Gabrielle, as she stares into your eyes, her own eyes full of betrayal. Her eyebrows suddenly scrunch up and blood pours out of her mouth. Every time she coughs, more blood sprays out. Suddenly, the camera pans down to her stomach. You had stabbed her in the stomach, the knife handle still gripped in your hand! As she loses her grip on her teddy bear and begins to fall, you wake up. However, you’re still in a terrible dream. You must wander around in your mansion and in more scenarios, begging yourself to wake up and save yourself from the fear and the agony that courses through your veins as you play. The story follows the same formula for each nightmare, which is: a. a. You wake up, panting Sometimes, there are a few different variables in some nightmares or part of the formula is taken out of a nightmare. For example, in the first nightmare of the game, the one after you watch Gabrielle get stabbed, you do follow this formula. However, c. is not in this nightmare. I suppose this is to keep the player from being too scared of the game just yet, and the creator of the game wants the fear of what will happen to slowly build up at every twist and turn. Despite things sometimes being shaken up a bit, I will have to give the story of this game a 7. It would have been even lower if everything was the exact same, just in different places. Depth – 5 The depth of this game is in between “You go one path and can only do one thing” (Which is 1) and “Holy guacamole you can unlock ten things to do with every level that you gain I better order some takeout food as I’m going to be playing this game for TEN You’re actually allowed to take at least more than one path to get from Point A to Point B, but what happens at the end will always be the same for each nightmare you play in. In other words, you don’t have to take Path 1 to get to the end. You could take Path 2, which is for the more adventurous souls, and more. You can walk out into the depths of the darkness with nothing but your own two legs to propel you away from the beast of the night, or you can stay in your house and wait for it to leave you alone before you go to your destination. Difficulty – 8 This is both a good and a bad thing. Let’s start with the good part of why the difficulty is so high. The game itself actually isn’t that difficult. You wander around in each nightmare, with no idea of what you should do or if you can even get out. However, the fear factor is through the roof every second of the way. You’re constantly looking over your shoulder, trying to find something in the darkness that wants to hunt you down and kill you slowly and painfully. You can’t fight, you can’t run for long (as the character that you’re controlling seems to have asthma), and you have no defenses. One hit and you have to start over at the beginning of the nightmare. In other words, you’re helpless and at the mercy of anything that’s lurking out there. The thought of something waiting for you makes it difficult for me to go on. It instills fear into my heart, hoping that the thing that ran past the window and causing that mysterious shadow was just a bird and not a monster. This is exactly what a horror game should try to accomplish. However, the reason why this is bad for a game is because it makes me reluctant to play it. If you’re like me and psyche yourself into thinking that the game is going to be horrifying with blood and gore every time you blink, eventually, you’re going to reach your limits and say “NOPE. NEVERMIND. I’M NOT PLAYING THIS GAME. GOODBYE.” as you hop onto your motorcycle and speed away into the sunset, to get as far away from the game as possible. Overall – 7 This game is worth the 45,000 Viz that Davideo7 is offering, as of 1/31/17. I’ll give the game this: It’s a pretty well done horror game, and if I had the option to erase all my memories of playing the game after I complete it just to play it again and experience all my emotions again, I’d do so. I’m Sara, and I leave you here as I play another game for another review. Once upon a time, in a world beyond Vizzed, there was a young girl, her name in the worlds barely known. I was the first one to buy Fortune's Tavern + the 2 DLCs (which may or may not be my first DLCs ever) Used up the 30k Viz I had left after buying Neverending Nightmares but it's worth it. Now I have a game I've wanted since the dawn of time and a game that's not on the Steam Market. |

Here comes my annoying smiling profile with the color-changing hair again o3o I was hoping that maybe you'd feature my review for LaTale, as I'm trying to make that game page something good. It's actually a really good game, so it's sad that almost no one has ever heard of it and left the page to collect dust. My duty is to not only clean off the dust, but to make the wood shine and the page smell nice. ...yeah, that probably made no sense, but could you please consider it? Thanks again! Yes, I've done it again. I'm wasting a lot of months' worth of time to get a book written out. BUT THIS TIME. I am determined to get it published. I'm probably going to type out a huge chunk of words, so I apologize for that. (Yes, this book is what has been causing me to sort of "flicker" between being on Vizzed and forgetting you all exist. Sorry.) What is this book called? For now, I'm calling it Fragments of Memories. I was originally going to call it Diary of a Newbie, but it sounded more like the title for an anime, and I'm trying to make it serious here. Why are you writing this? Originally, it was going to be a fanfiction for my childhood game (LaTale) but after I gave one of my friends a couple of sentences about all the headcanons and stuff about the plot (which is basically the first four bosses in the game are human in an alternate universe and one of the end-game bosses is the evil queen who must be defeated) he told me "this could make a decent book. I'd read it." So, here we are, seven chapters in at the moment as I attempt to write out the defeat of the first boss, who is now called Akuma Invoke. What is this book about? OKAY, so I gave you a very brief sentence about it, so here comes a paragraph that has more detail about the plot. Two girls in a fantasy world much like a video game (one of which is new to the world) are suddenly thrown in an alternate dimension and must get back home. It seems easy enough at first, as everything looked the same, but soon, they notice that everyone walking past them seemed either afraid or dead inside. They soon find out why they are: The Fearful Four. They're the first four bosses in the original world, however, they've been turned human: Akuma Invoke, the beautiful half demon girl who can steal souls. Was originally the baby dragon Invoke. Hyunmu, the emo, voodoo-loving man whose soul can temporarily leave his body and possess others. Was originally the giant turtle Hyunmu. (I'm thinking about changing his name for the final product.) He would have been the richest person in this alternate dimension if not for... Sphinx, the richest person in the world. I have an idea for her where people actually come to her if they are in desperate need for money, and she does pay them, but she expects to be paid back (and only gives people a week to pay back) and every day after the deadline, she doubles the price she needs to be paid back. Some have paid back the debt, but others...well, let's just say they're not around anymore to tell the tale. Was originally an actual sphinx. Vintor, the second-in-command of the Fearful Four. Was originally an ice demon, but with the power of three magicians, they had weakened him to the point where he can only come out once every 100 years. The rest of the time has to be spent in a human's body. She was just unlucky enough to possess a girl's body. His original form in the regular dimension is the ice demon. There is A LOT more about this book that I want to talk about, but I've already checked the word count and, as of right now, it's 550 words and rising, so I'll just leave it here for now. Feel free to ask me about it! I'd be glad to tell you all! Why are you telling us all this? ...I don't know, actually. I just want to get it out before I lose steam (like I did the last time I attempted to write a book...) so that I actually have a reason to finish and publish it. That's about it. What is this book called? I enjoy Chrees-muss as much as any other cat. Every year, my owner puts up this huge, amazing green cat toy and fills it with smaller cat toys! It’s a cat’s dream come true! However, she never lets me play with it. Every time I jump into it she puts me back onto the floor. The cat toy teases me whenever I slink past it; calling me names. Just because I’m not allowed to play with the toy doesn’t mean that I’m a “stinky poo-poo hole” as it says. Because I’m a good girl, though, I don’t attack it back, which would upset my owner. Hoomuns always seem to be excited during Chrees-muss. Occasionally, my owner would have a boy over during Chrees-muss. No matter what, that boy always smells like those smelly white circles that my owner would slice up and put in between bread. My owner would hold up a leaf and some sort of berry above their heads and then they would smush their faces together like walruses. It confuses and disturbs me. It also always gets a meow out of me when I witness it. “Hoomuns, you are doing me a frighten.” I once tried to tell them when I saw it happen. They didn’t seem to hear me, though. They just continued to smush their faces together and disturb me, my owner’s poor little Scotty Foldish – or was it Scottish Fold? Whatever. I’m a cat, and that’s all there is to it. The best time of them all, though, is the height of Chrees-muss. The day always seems to come at random. One year it’s Saturday, and the next it’s Monday. However, when the day comes, it begins. Apparently, there’s a man called Cnata who rides on this sled with a bunch of moose propelling him. Cnata will break into people’s homes at night and leave these colorful boxes with things in them under the cat toy. I once saw Cnata; he had the same hair as my owner and smelled like her, too. I was worried that he ate her, but then I slinked back to her room after watching him leave and I saw her in that bed where she temporarily dies every night. Hoomuns must have more lives than cats if they do that every night of their lives. When she uses the next life after the coming of Cnata, we go to the cat toy with the colorful boxes. There, she opens the boxes – and proving that the boxes actually have colorful skins and she’s destroying them by tearing off the skin. Beneath the skins, though, are colorful things. Sometimes, it’s soft cloth that she wears, and other times, it’s something like headphones. Once, she got this thing that looks like one box, but I can open it and prove that it’s actually two boxes. It blew my mind away. She usually wears or messes around with the things that Cnata gives her. Occasionally, though, she gets a few boxes from some people who aren’t Cnata. I read one of the labels that was attached to one of those boxes and it said “Mom” Chrees-muss comes and goes, apparently. The best time of Chrees-muss only lasts a day, and then it’s back to a boring old life. On the bright side, though, my owner gets a vacation from something that she frequently complains about called “finals” Because of this vacation, she gets to stay home for about a week and half during Chrees-muss. Personally? I don’t see what the big deal for Chrees-muss is, besides, of course, the green cat toy. But, whatever, I digress, once us cats take over the world, we’ll be able to find out the true meaning of Chrees-muss. I enjoy Chrees-muss as much as any other cat. Eniitan : (Cue the "Hmmm...That's a tricky one!" line from the beginning of Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 4) I think I've fallen DOWN stairs more than UP stairs, mainly because the one time I fell up the stairs, I was in the middle of a crowded staircase, so I started doing push-ups, being all like, "Don't lookit me, I'm just doin' pushups on the stairs, I didn't trip up them." This story is based off of a writing prompt: “Most monsters love Halloween, but you hate it because no one dresses as you." I hate Halloween. No, I don’t mean the movie, Halloween. I mean the holiday. I’ve hated Halloween and always have. “Why do you hate it?” Many ask me. After all, to some, Halloween is literally the best holiday ever. Free candy, dressing up as awesome and creative stuff, and Halloween parties. The monsters love it, too. After all, they get to see that they have a fanbase, people dressing up as them. Just last year, I saw ten people dressed as Jeff the Killer, and another two as BEN Drowned. So why do I hate it? I hate it because no one ever dresses as me. It’s only the famous monsters that get the fanbase to dress up as them. Everyone else in the shadows simply get left behind and forgotten. If one were to try and dress as them people would think they’re not dressed as anything. There are other monsters than just the ones you read stories of. In fact, there are monsters everywhere, lurking in empty shells of humans, waiting to strike. Anyone could be a monster – the cute girl you met at the café, the bouncer at the bar you attended, or even your brother. I’m one of the hidden monsters that no one knows of. The only chance they get to see me is in my work. They only see the little blocks that declare a person missing in their newspaper, or if I get sloppy and a little insane, the headlines on the news that declare them murdered. Every time I kill one of my latest victims, it always ends up being a cold case. No one would be able to see a connection between all the murders, or any incriminating evidence. All they know is that someone died, either from poisoning, being brutally stabbed, or their skull being bashed in. No connection to a murderer is ever made. All my murders are carefully plotted to that they all look like they were done by different people, so that I’m not caught. However, I also despise how I’m so good that no one ever suspects me. I kill for my one true love. I’m possessive, attention-loving, and psychotic. I can’t spend a minute watching my one true love spend time with another girl. He could decide that she’s better than me and then leave me for her. As I have said just now, though, I am attention-loving in more ways than one. I’m the kind of girl who would love to be famous, but just can’t, no matter what she does. This includes murder. I may be a psycho, but I don’t want to get caught, so I try to do just enough to keep myself from getting caught, but also being famous. Unfortunately, I’m too good at hiding evidence. Besides, what would people have to dress up as if they don’t even know what their monster looks like? After all, I’m just an innocent girl. No one would suspect the bright-eyed, enthusiastic girl they walk by every day to be a monster in plain sight. I'm hoping to stay onto Vizzed for at least until my 1 year anniversary of joining Vizzed, if not longer. It's always fun to welcome the new years with old friends. Helloooo, everyone! Sorry for not posting sooner! I actually intended to post this about a week ago. I had it allllll typed out, coming to about 1000 words, before brownout happened and all my work was erased, so I'm condensing the original post into this so that it doesn't happen again. If you'd like more detail about certain things or want to ask me more questions feel free to ask me. Why did you leave? My laptop broke. I think the graphics card fizzled out or something. I can't remember the details. So, I got a much slower PC that couldn't play any Vizzed games. However, for my birthday, I got a super sleek and fast gaming PC. Do you still like photography and writing? YES! Those are like my dream jobs! I've already improved a LOT since I last posted! I got an awesome camera, and my writing skills have improved! What are you going as this Halloween? I wanted to be my Special One (AKA Mettaton EX ![]() What's new? Up ahead I'm going to talk about the things that women go through every month. If you don't want to read that, skip the bolded part. Went on vacation to Virginia Beach. It's really pretty. Burned a CD of a soundtrack of my favorite game (LaTale) Learned how to burn CDs. Was given cases for these CDs. Got a new tablet. Got a new gaming PC. Started my period for the first time on the 20th. I suffered through it for nine days. You gonna keep playing games here? Of course! I absolutely love it here in Vizzed! Is that it for now? Certainly all I can think of for now, yes. Why did you leave? My laptop broke. I think the graphics card fizzled out or something. Alright, we’re back again with (Just take a wild guess) another childhood game of mine. However, this one is different from most of the games I’ve reviewed on my account. Instead, this one is an online game, and where I got most of my online friends today. I started this game around April 2012, where I created a character called “Pollypolly” (Yes, for your info, that was the actual name.) after my Littlest Pet Shop parrot toy, Polly. I never got anywhere with her, and took a long hiatus from LaTale after that. Around December in the same year, I Why am I reviewing this game now, when I could have done it last year, you may ask? Around this time last year, I, once again, took a long hiatus from LaTale, and it was only recently that I just got back into it. While the community isn’t nearly as friendly as when I started playing, and the economy has suffered from serious inflation, the game in itself is actually still pretty good! Also: To answer your question about the title, a Lightning Dancer is a monster you’re going to have to fight (A lot) once you’re going to do your 4th Job quests. Graphics – 8 The graphics are ADORABLE. It’s bright, colorful, and, at the same time, it’s soft and easy on the eyes, while still managing to be beautifully rainbow-like. I’ve never seen any graphics like the ones in LaTale. All of the designs for the monsters that I’ve fought in LaTale are original, and are nothing that I’ve ever seen before – at least for the first time I see them. After that, they’re all familiar because I’m playing these levels again and again. There are infinite combinations that you can design for your character! You could get some coupons to change your eyes, hair, etc. or you could get lucky at LaDeck and win yourself a beautiful Maestro set, or you could just go spend some real money on Astros to go buy some stuff at the fashion shop. I managed to do a slight mixture of all three of those (You can get free Astros, too) while some of my stuff was bought from the towns, all of which supply you with some fashion items when you’re just starting out in the game, and the rest is purely event-related stuff. I don’t know about the other skills for other classes, I’ve only played as a wizard for the past 4 or so years, but the animations and graphics for the skills that a wizard has is really smooth! The skills and animations blend so well together: Crazy Fire lifts you into the air to pelt your enemies with fireballs, Illusion Fire has you looking down, as to not ruin your eyes as a wall of flames surround your enemies, and even more! Ever since I left, I think a new class has been added to the game, called a Card Master. Because I have a very low level character that’s a Card Master, I have a few of the basic skills, and I can say that the Card Master is also pretty good. I can’t describe the skills, I just have the vaguest memories of it here and there. Sound – 9 The soundtrack is incredibly good, and is almost – dare I say it – Undertale quality. Every soundtrack I’ve heard so far fits perfectly with the area it’s in: A wild west style song for an old-timey train area or a slow, sad song for an old, abandoned area that was once a town but is now infested by monsters. There’s even a song that starts out calm with the waves of the ocean, but soon turns upbeat for an old pirate ship with zombie monsters! You never know what song you’re going to get for what area until you go to it! The soundtrack has gotten pirated onto YouTube, so I’m currently working on getting all the songs downloaded onto my computer and onto a CD so I can listen to it on my new CD MP3 player (Thanks for giving it to me, Dad!) Addictiveness – 6 I know; it seems surprising that I would give this game only a six, based on how I’m raving about it. However, I have my reasons. Sometimes, it gets hard to want to log onto LaTale, because you’re just doing the same thing over and over again, or at least I am. 4th Job quests are tedious. I’ve spent over a month in total doing them, and I don’t even think I’m halfway through. So, I decided I would go explore the game, see what’s changed, but everything new is all end-game stuff. In other words, stuff I can’t get to, yet. I decided I would go fight some bosses I’ve fought before, see if their gameplay has changed. One of them, my personal favorite to fight, has changed drastically. His name is Dr. Rice, and can be found in Behemoth’s Stomach. From how I remembered him, he had two stages. The first one was spent in his gigantic robot thingy, where he would attack you from there, using grabber claws and/or sending you into a gigantic tub of acid that you need to get out of. The second stage has his robot destroyed, and now you’re personally fighting him. In this round, he runs around, has a trident, and can summon in monsters, electrify you, and he still has the acid move. Back then, it was a HUGE achievement for me when I got past the first stage, because back then I was level 87 something and was still a noob. Now, his boss fight is just the second stage. No trace of the first stage was left behind, which is depressing and makes the battle ten times harder. Back in the first stage, if your HP was low, you could run to the edge of the screen, where he can’t get you, and you can stop and rest. Now, since he runs around through the whole battle, you don’t have that opportunity. Story – 10 If I could only begin to describe the amount of stories I pumped out that are LaTale related. These stories I made aren’t even related to the main story to the game! They were all side stories about the monsters who get forgotten, like Moran or YoNang from the Empyrean area! The main story, however, is about a different world from ours, infested by monsters. A girl named Iris has started a quest to save everyone from these monsters, but on her final battle, with the Demon King, she mysteriously disappeared, and no one, not even her team mates, had seen her since, and all the players of the game are out to find her. The rest of your story, however, is up to you. You could choose to become a famous LaTalian through many ways, like being the kindest person in the new worlds, helping people out however you can, or you could become the strongest thing in the game, to be feared by the monsters all around, if they could feel fear. Depth – 10 This game may be the game I review that has the most things you can do in it as of today. Let’s start off with the two most basic things: Fighting monsters and doing quests. Questing is one of the most effective ways to gain EXP and Ely, the game’s currency. You’ll get a quest from an NPC, where you have to either fight a certain monster in the nearby area a bunch of times, or collect things from said monster. There are also the community-related things you could do: Join/Create guilds, add friends or get married. Recently, you can now craft runes onto your equipment to give it a boost, or have achievements you could complete. I don’t know everything about the new stuff, I’m still doing my 4th Jobs quests, for crying out loud, and the 4th Jobs came out exactly 1 year ago, now! I’ve always been really slow in this game, whether it’s leveling up or not dying, so I can’t say a lot about the newer things in the game while I’m still one year behind. That’s just one of the many woes of being me, despite the fact for the shortest amount of time I was famous in the game because of the series I made and has now since been abandoned called “The Quest For 1 Billion Ely” If anyone that’s watched it is reading this, don’t worry. I’m considering rebooting the series and making it a lot more professional than the old series. It’ll have better editing, Top 10 Lists, and I’ll try not to stammer a lot. Difficulty – Depends “But Sara –” I hear you say. “– how can the difficulty depend, and what does it depend on? It’s either one difficulty or another!” Well, keep your questions to yourself for just now, and hear me out. Because this is an online game, there are tons of players frequently roaming about at nearly all times, and these players vary in level. For example, one player could have reached the level cap (220) while another is just starting out in the game! So, to appease to all players, difficulty wise, Actoz Soft, the creators of the game, have put multiple areas into their game, all of which getting increasingly difficult as you go on in the game. For example, a level 20 would instantly get 1-hit killed at the Tallest Tree area, which is level 100 and up, while a level 220 wouldn’t even feel the attacks of the monsters there. At the same time, the same level 220 could get nuked by one of the end-game dungeons because his base HP is so low. Not only that, there are multiple classes you could choose to start your character off as, all of which with different stats. For example, a knight could have the highest HP in the game, while being unable to do any magic, while a wizard has the lowest HP and defense, but makes up for it by being the only class with the highest magic stat, which enables said wizard to be able to cast spells of all four elements. So, what is the final score for this? It all depends on your level, your class and the area that you’re in. I can’t give a definitive score for every player in the game because of the endless variations. It would be unfair to think like a level 220 in a level 110 area and give the game a score of 3 while many level 10s and up are getting beamed to level 200 areas by trolls and getting wasted, and vice versa. “But Sara – ” You say again. “ – what score would you give for the difficulty based on your level, class and the area you frequent the most?” I’d probably give it around 7.5. Seriously. Taking on ten thousand Gotha Maidens and Lightning Dancers at once is near impossible unless you spam your potions nonstop while attacking. Overall – 8 Unfortunately, the direct score I got for this was 8.4, but I had to knock a few points off because of what LaTale has become. When I first started playing, anyone would stop and help if a noob asked them a question about the game. Not only that, guilds were the friendliest thing. Everyone would greet you as you returned, would ask you what you intended to do on LaTale today, and generally made you feel at home. The reason why I kept coming back to LaTale during the early days of AwesomeTrinket was because of a guild I joined called TheNoobClub. Now, you can only get maybe two replies if you say something on a server microphone unless you’re selling something, and no one says hello anymore. Honestly, if I were allowed to choose between the old LaTale and the new one, I’d choose the old one. Sure, it was harder to fight monsters and make Ely back then, but you had a community to help you out with things like that so it was easier. Most of the players only care about themselves today. When I was having trouble with one of my quests, due to being unable to find something, I asked the other ten or so people in the area for help, all of which weren’t AFK, because they were killing the monsters around the area. Only one responded. Back then, all ten would have responded with tips and tricks. However, if any of you that read this were to join LaTale, send me a mail and tell me that it’s one of you, and I’ll invite you to my guild and help you out in any way I can. The community may be cold and uncaring now, but there will always be one player who cares about the noobs – me. Thank you for reading, and have a wonderful day. J Alright, we’re back again with (Just take a wild guess) another childhood game of mine. I’m finally back in action, baby! Today, we’re going to be reviewing a game I actually forgot existed, had I not suddenly found the disc for it! Once the nostalgia stopped overflowing into my brain, I began to play the game. This game was a big chunk of my childhood gaming memories. In fact, I bet I wouldn’t even have been a gamer, had it not been for this game, since I played it so much. However, I’ll still try and give an unbiased opinion about this game. Graphics – 5 Even for the time, the graphics are kind of meh. This game takes place in a factory, which, obviously, is going to have rusted gears and more. This means there’s going to be a lot of brown in the foreground and the background. The colors are a little bland, because, as I said, there’s a lot of brown in the game. However, that doesn’t mean there are other colors in the game. For example, Charlie himself is a mixture of yellow, red, and white. Another thing that relates to graphics is the cutscenes. Yes, there are cutscenes in this game, and, according to the North American box art, up to half an hour of cutscenes are in this game! As a little five year old girl who was impressed by the littlest things, the cutscene graphics were beautiful to me. But now that I’m older and only impressed by the things that really are impressive, I can just say that – OH MY GOODNESS THIS IS TERRIFYING I LIKEDTHIS AS A KID?! Yeah, while the graphics for the actual gameplay is decent, the cutscene graphics are kind of unsettling. I would have given the graphics a 7, but because I’m a little unnerved due to the cutscenes, I’m going to have to knock a few points off. Sound – 6 The music is actually pretty nice to listen to. The main tune is this jazz song that’s very soothing to listen to. Of course, that doesn’t mean that that’s the only song in the entire game. There is one level, I think it’s called “Slippin’ and Slidin’” or something to the effect of that. It appears to take place in an empty factory room, but blocks are constantly falling down! The music for this round is perfect. It’s quiet and chilling, giving you tingles going up your spine. It’s probably one of the best songs that I’ve heard in the game so far. It’s almost Undertale quality! There’s also sound effects and voice acting. There are only a few sound effects, which includes walking, fans, getting coins and more, so I’m not going to talk about it and instead focus on the voice acting. So, as far as I can tell at this moment, there are only three voice actors; one for Charlie, one for his arch nemesis, BFB (Which I think stands for Bon Fire Blaze or something) and the final one for this female robot that I still don’t know the name of, I think it’s Rusty or something. The actors themselves are pretty good, but some of the lines are a little cheesy. Also, BFB’s laugh is HILARIOUS. I don’t know if that’s what they were going for, maybe they wanted him to have a creepy laugh, but if they did, they failed miserably. Addictiveness – 10 The addictiveness for this game sort of ties in with Depth, as there’s more to do in this game than you’d expect! The game is huge, with over 12 bosses to beat and 43 levels to explore! Of course, I haven’t even completed the whole game yet, I’m still just on maybe level 3 or so. I’ve already defeated of BFB’s robot minibosses that he tries to use to destroy me and I’m looking for reset switch number two. Story – 7 The story is certainly original, that’s for sure. I’ve never seen a story that takes place in a factory before. To sum it up, Charlie is the night watchman of the Momfactory (At least, that’s what I think it’s called) but he’s kind of lazy. Being a lover of donuts, he’d rather scoff a couple dozen boxes of them in his face than actually do any work, but I don’t blame the guy. I’d be like him if I had donuts available for me to eat 24/7 during my shift. While reaching for donuts one night, he accidentally flips a switch, which turns the factory on! No worries, all he has to do is flip the four reset switches, which requires him to get the four keys to unlock each switch. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, you’re wrong. His arch nemesis, BFB, who I still have no idea why he hates Charlie, tries to stop him in his journey by sending out his evil robot minions that you have to defeat in order to advance in the game! Depth – 5 This game, as I said in addictiveness, is huge. The main goal of the game is to find all the reset switches, which you can eventually do by punching out all of the timeclocks in that round, where you’ll have to face off against a boss before you can get the reset switch for that round. You can also collect coins during the rounds. If you collect any of the green coins, you can go for a minigame called Donutopia, where you have to jump through spinning huge donuts in order to get coins. Difficulty – 8 This game is actually pretty hard. You’re always high up on platforms and ledges, and, being an egg, if you fall off one of the ledges you’ll easily shatter and lose a life. However, that’s not the only way you can die. You can also die from getting hit too much, like in all games, but you can also get fried from overheating in the factory. Yes, that can happen, and people probably do die from overheating in factories, especially in summer months. If you see the thermometer at the bottom of the screen rise, you might want to look for a fan in order to cool yourself, unless you want to lose one of your lives, in which case, I won’t judge you, so go right ahead and do that. Overall – 6.8 If I didn’t have this game as part of my childhood I’d try it out. And when I found out about what it’s like, I’d play it every now and then, not to the point where I break the disc, just when I’m bored and have nothing better to do. Anyway, hope you guys have a great summer, make sure to stay hydrated, frequently find fans in real life if you’re also working as the night watchman in a factory like Charlie, and don’t flip any switches by accident.
