I've been offline for awhile -- mobile only, so I haven't checked in, and I've finally gotten my PC back online.  I'm just wondering if there's been any news on this issue.

Just wanted to say you guys rock for the effort you put into these things! As I've temporarily lost my non-mobile Internet, I won't be logging in much for the next month or so. Keep up the good work, and thank you for everything!

Ah, that did the trick.  I was hoping not to have to do that, but I guess I can just use passwords this time through. Or possibly save states.

Oh, I missed this sticky and posted this in the Report Games board. I'll put the condensed version here:

Ys Book I & II (TurboCD) worked fine the day I downloaded it, and I played about halfway through book I.
The next day (today), any time I try to start, it goes straight to "emulator closed."

In my Plugin Log file, I found the following error:
08/23 09:26:00 AM - ( INFO ):   Error: Error opening file "C:ProgramDataVizzedVizzedRgrPluginRomsYs_Book_1_and_2_-_Ancient_Ys_Vanished_(NTSC-U)_[TGXCD1002]Ys_Book_1_and_2_-_Ancient_Ys_Vanished_(NTSC-U)_[TGXCD1002].sbi": No such file or directory

In the folder mentioned, I only find a .cue and a .iso file. I'm unfamiliar with the .sbi extension.

In my EmuStdOutput file, I have this error:
Error reading from opened file "C:ProgramDataVizzedVizzedRgrPluginUser-520617Mednafen_newsavYs_Book_1_and_2_-_Ancient_Ys_Vanished_(NTSC-U)_[TGXCD1002].19afebaa65477f9de7d4d8c50a342358.sav": Unexpected EOF

I had the same thing happen with Ys IV English Translation, which I tried solving by switching browsers. I've tried with Firefox, Pale Moon, Internet Explorer, and Opera.

I've tried using RGR 2.25 and 2.30.

Non-TurboCD games on Mednafen are working fine.

Thanks for all your efforts on everybody's behalf.  This is a great site for nostalgic gaming. (I've been wanting to play Ys 4 for 20-something years.)

Does anybody have any idea why I was able to purchase Ys 4 English Translation and start playing it, but whenever I try to reload it so I can continue, the emulator immediately goes to "emulator closed"?

I even sold it and re-purchased it and it still won't work.
Just for kicks, I purchased Ys Book I & II, and it loads every time.
Every other game I've tried also works fine.
Ys 4 English only worked one time.

I've tried with Firefox, Pale Moon, Internet Explorer, and Opera.

Assistance would be appreciated.

UPDATE:
It's one day after I downloaded Ys Book I & II, and now it is having the same problem. I even tried deleting the .bin, .cue, and .zip files from my computer and re-downloading the title, but as soon as it downloaded, the emulator closed.

P.S. I'm not sure how to get the board to not automatically convert text into emojis. In the first error, that's supposed to be a right-parenthesis followed by a colon...

OK, maybe I should have looked further and posted here first, but this is exactly the problem I'm having.  Last night, I upgraded to 2.30, bought Ys IV English Translation, and played for an hour or so before I went to sleep.  Today, it always says "emulator closed" and never loads.  I've tried with Pale Moon, Firefox, and now Opera, and the results are unchanged. I also downgraded to 2.25, but no luck. MAME games work fine, and I'll check others, but it seems to be only TurboCD so far. I find it strange that it worked one time, but now it doesn't.  Is there some kind of maintenance going on dealing with mednafen?

I don't know if this will add any useful information, but I logged in last night for the first time in months, updated to 2.30, and started playing a TurboCD game. It loaded and played fine, but I've tried a few times today, and it won't load at all.  I tried downgrading to 2.25, and still have no luck. Other games load just fine.  I'm running Win7 64 and using Pale Moon or Firefox as my browser. (Pale Moon is a Firefox derivative).

I'd sure love to play some Turbo-CD games, but they all say "You have ran out of Viz", even though I haven't.  So how do I find out how many Viz are necessary?
