sop281 : the only old GB or GBC games I played and liked was Gold/Silver. It's a little different from the GBA games like Leaf Green, but I still prefer Leaf Green better. It's easier to follow, and the graphics are better. Good chose in choosing Leaf Green Golgotha 14

golgo 14 : I have played almost every Pokemon game, a good one to start out in is leaf green/fire red (GBA). It has good graphics, a good story, and the Pokemon are better, and it's easy to play and follow. The old ones are better than the new ones I feel. So I prefer the GBA ones over the DS ones. If you don't wanna play that one, another good one is emerald. It has a totally different story, and totally different set of Pokemon. But I think leaf green would be better to start out with.

GateKeeper_A : I've the played the newer systems a lot. But I have a few stores around that are a game store, but they all systems, even the old ones. I love going in there and seeing the old systems, and they actually have a really good selection. I didn't grow up in the retro game era, but I got my love for it from my dad. He grew up on that stuff when he was young, and he has shown me some of them. My dad owned a N64 so I played that a lot. I played that more than I did the new systems (ps2 and xbox when they first came out). We use to have a few nights a week that we played Mario kart together, it was really cool.

To many people take the old games for granted, if it wasn't for those, we wouldn't have the new games. Don't get me wrong, I love the new systems, but I also love the old systems. One of my favorite N64 games was super smash bros. And thank you for the new listen!

I completely agree with you, playing through the series first is a good way to do it before playing hacks. See, I've been playing these games for years! I've almost played all of the original games, but it has taken years to do. So it will also take you a long time too.

If your looking for an emulator site for iOS, a good one is emu4ios.net, and then click on gba and follow the steps. It only works for iOS devices (Apple). I use that one on my iPad and I love it. There are many websites in which you can get ROMs for the emulator. If you have any questions just ask.
