steel_attacker : Spyshadow I agree, we move NOW! I personally don't have a weapon on me so I cant go first just in case so please lead the way. We are headed north so whoever can lead go! I don't want to be here any longer than we need to and now we don't need to be here. With this spyshadow gets in position to leave waiting for anyone he turns to Marcus "Everyone seems to just be mulling around and we need to leave, we are in danger here and I can't protect myself with no weapon at the minute so please can you lead the way? We will take an obvious path so that others can catch up and rejoin if they can make it, if we don't move now no-one may make it." Spyshadow I agree, we move NOW! Spyshadow After hearing what Marcus had to say he feels uncomfortable, is that all true? If so he knows he needs to be careful and watch not just his own back but every ones. "Right we have had enough time and the beacon is just about out, we need to go! Is everyone ready? We will set out VERY soon. If you aren't ready or you don't want to come then that's fine but remember we are safer as a group and you have had ample warning. So this is the last call for people to be ready" He sits with his back to the wall making sure he is rested for the journey ahead. Getting out of the temple with the rest of the group was quite a hard squeeze but he manages to do it after a small amount of time. "The beacon will be out any second and the sun is almost upon us we need to move soon" He says, "Quark you seem to know your way around a map, do you think you could lead us to where we need to go? We don't want to get lost and I feel you are the right person. If you need someone to be in front of you to protect you whilst you read the map I will allow you to make this decision. If this is fine with everyone we will move once the sun is up or the beacon is out whichever comes first!" He then move slightly away from the group and keeps a watch for anything suspicious. He knows someone here is a murderer but who? That is when he overhears Marcus and Quark arguing. He goes over to intervene as two people fighting between themselves wont help the group as a whole. He goes over and asks what problems they have with each other and what it would take to stop this rivalry He then move slightly away from the group and keeps a watch for anything suspicious. Final Fantasy XIII - 3 : Lightning Returns Overview Final Fantasy XIII - 3 : Lightning Returns (shortened to FF:LR from here on out) is the third game set in the universe of Final Fantasy 13. Being in the same universe it has everything you could expect from that meaning we have returning characters, expanded stories and returning areas. The game has many similar features to all other final fantasy games (And more to the two preceding games,) but it also has a lot of newer features which fits in nicely with the older features. Story 7/10 This game follows on from the previous two games and is set just before the world is going to end. Lightning is once again the main protagonist and her role is to collect peoples souls so that when god Bhunivelze creates a new world free of chaos the souls may populate that world. Lightning must battle through the chaos, against old friends and some new ones to free their souls. The world Itself only has 7 days remaining but it is going to take 13 days for the new world to be ready. Can lightning make it in time? Can she keep the chaos back for long enough? These questions will be answered throughout the game. The story in itself is a pretty good story but it is much to short, there is only a handful of missions in the main story although they are good there isn't enough which is where the problem is and why this doesn't get a higher rating. Depth 9/10 FF:LR is full of things to do and a lot of customisation from the equipment you wear (Swords, shields and attacks) to the clothes that you wear (And the colour of them.) Every piece of equipment is useful in its own way and gives you a lot of choice with what you would like to do. Combine this with allowing three different 'outfits' in battle which gives a total of 3 swords, 3 shields and 12 attacks there is nearly an unlimited amount of different combinations you can make out of these. Admittedly not all of these combinations will be effective but it allows you to play the game the way you want to. The next thing I'm going to talk about is the amount of missions in the game. There is four different areas in the game with each area having its own main quest, side quests and canvas of prayer (basically a monster material hand in mission board.) Between these you have about 20-30 missions per area with varying difficulty (Ranging from one star to three stars) and each giving you its own reward. This means you have well over 100 quests to do and only 13 days to complete as many as you can! You will have to prioritise some quests over others and that choice is all yours, would you rather go monster slaying or help find some medicine for a sickly father? That is your choice. Addictiveness 7/10 FF:LR takes a bit of a stumble with its addictiveness as many of the side quests are either gather these materials or kill these monsters until you have enough of their items. This in itself makes the game quite repetitive without having a second run but there are also quite a few redeeming factors into having a second run at the game as well, one of them being an unlock-able hard mode after completing the game for the first time. Another reason to replay the game is to change the order you complete the game. Seeing as you get stronger the further you progress the game you may find some enemies or bosses too easy and you would like to fight them whilst weaker to see what it would of been like. Another reason to replay the game is to try out a number of different outfits and attacks you may not have used on your first play-through. The reason this only got a 7 and no higher is that there is a lack of enemies. Most of them are either similar to each other or there is too few of them. There is approximately 40 unique enemies in the game so you will be fighting the same ones over and over again through the game which can get boring quite fast. Graphics 6/10 The graphics of FF:LR are nothing special and a lot of them are re-used models from the first two Final Fantasy 13 games which have been around since 2009(JP) and 2010(INT) so the models are outdated by 3 years. This may not seem like a long time but in 3 years we have had a lot of technical advancement in models and it really shows if you compare it to other games that come out at the same time. The game would have got lower scores if it wasn't for the spectacular look of some of the backgrounds and the cutscenes. Sound 9/10 What can I say about the sound of FF:LR other than it has a great soundtrack and both English and Japanese voice acting. On the subject of voice acting it may seem that it shouldn't be that big of a deal but a lot of players like to keep the game as similar to how it was originally as possible and keeping the original voice acting is rare and allows you to know how the game was in its first form. The accompanying soundtrack of the game has a lot of tracks from the previous two games which are in high quality but it also its own soundtracks which are all of high quality and memorable. The sound effects in FF:LR are also of high quality and are crisp. The only reason this doesn't have a 10 is that if you got the game late there is a DLC price on the Japanese voice acting. Difficulty 5/10 FF:LR has three modes of difficulty easy, normal and hard. The easy difficulty is really good for people who want to get into gaming, for people who are that good at games and anyone who wants to just play for the story. This is as you have no penalty imposed on you for dying, more rewards for killing enemies and no downside. The normal difficulty is a little harder making you waste 1 hour in-game time for every loss in battle and only normal rewards in battle. Hard mode has a step up with giving enemies a boost in all of their stats and give extra rewards but at a lower item drop rate. Most of the enemies in FF:LR have a note you can buy for them which show all of their weaknesses, strengths how to stagger them and what they drop. This cuts down on how hard enemies are as you know how to fight them and how to beat them quickly. If you combine this with the fact that most enemies are of an easy nature and are very predictable it makes for very little trouble. The only reason I can justify giving it a 5 is that there are a few enemies in which you can struggle with even with knowing their weaknesses and strengths but none are too strong as to cause a problem that can't be solved by leaving the area for a while until you get a little stronger. Overall 8.5/10 Overall FF:LR is a good game in its own right, it is fun to play the difficulty is good even if set just a little bit to low. The game has its faults as with most games but none of these can subtract from the fact that FF:LR is a game with solid foundations and it continues to build of the success of the final fantasy franchise. Spyshadow After hearing the news of a death in the camp he has his worst suspicions confirmed. There is someone who can't be trusted, heck they could even be two or there is even a slight chance he killed himself. He thinks though it is a murder. He speaks up to the group " Guys we have had a death in camp. We have no time to mourn and as much as I hate to say it we don't have time to give him a proper burial. We need to go from here as safe as it is we cant sustain ourselves here. I heard quarks plan with the map and I feel that it is a good plan, we would be having quite the journey but we can gather resources as we go. However I do feel we should stop off at the small lake on the way up. It would be a decent place to set up camp for our weak and our injured. It would also give us a place to bathe and clean. This may not seem important but cleanliness will keep illness and disease away. We leave at first light, be ready then" (OOC post - Just to let everyone know, I'm pretty much recovered now so I can be more active again, sorry for the lack of posts in the last couple of days) After hearing the news of a death in the camp he has his worst suspicions confirmed. Spyshadow Overhearing Quhark muttering to himself about roles not being assigned knows he needs to keep morale up and not let anyone feel like they aren't needed or don't belong so he speaks up and tell everyone that he won't be assigning roles for anyone until we are in a position to do so., and he feels we won't be until we get into somewhere safer. Spyshadow Having heard the news from of everything Spyshadow has to make some tough decisions. First of all he decides that everyone needs food and that we all do need to eat, yes an average person can go 7 days without food but with that no-one would be in a fit state to do anything, we need to eat at least once a day if we want to stay on top of the elements. For this he tells everyone to take their fair share of food (which is currently 3 each.) He tells them if needed to eat as we don't want to get weak through being hungry! His next decision had to be what to do about batpig? Well he knows that he needs attention and they cant take too long to give it to him, so we will need to find him an antidote as soon as possible. We will take him with us as we need as many people as possible to survive to get through this. We don't know how long we are going to be here and each person can help with supplies, so it is vital we save him! The next point of business is where do we go? With the news of the desert temple entrance he has a glimmer of hope. A desert temple provides a temporary shelter! It was clear to him where it would be best to head to to begin with. He tells everyone that this is the best place to head for. He explains his reasons of why this is the best area to head (Shelter, etc) and tells everyone to move out when we are all ready, we leave no man behind. With most of the problems having a short term goal it takes a large weight off of his mind. These people need help, and with being the most experienced with this happening before he knows that he will be their best chance of survival for now. He knows he isn't a natural born leader but he also knows that this is the role he is meant to play. Spyshadow goes to the items we have and takes 3 pieces of food, a sword, the pick and the axe. He knows these are going to be needed and they need to be kept safe and knows of no safer place then on him. It is not for the fact that he distrusts any one else but can he trust them? He knows he has to but can not get a nagging feeling that some of them are all in this for themselves. Once he has the items he asks Mickey to collect the chest, the bucket of water, four wooden planks and the flint and steel. He has to trust someone and who better than the one who found the area they are going to move to? Spyshadow then eats one portion of his food and gets ready for the treacherous trek to where the desert temple lies. Spyshadow Waking up from his rest he notices Tatsuo with some milk. He quickly gets up and goes over to him "Wait! We don't know if the milk is safe to drink! Do you remember what happened on the ship? I mean yes we did all have quite a bit to drink but I for one didn't have as much as to keep me out for that long! If you still want to try the milk I won't stop you but just be careful O.K? After he spoke to Tatsuo he looked around and saw that people were still discussing where we are going to go. He tallies up every ones vote (So far) and comes up with 5 to leave the desert and 3 to stay in with 6 left to vote. "Everyone listen up!" he exclaimed drawing everybody's attention "We have been deciding where to go for far to long now! We need to go with our majority vote and move out! I know this is not what all of you may have wanted but we must make haste, we will not survive for long if we don't all work together and agree as a group. As a group we voted to move out of the desert but how shall we do this? We have three options these are - We can stick to the shoreline going north east, this is where I saw Georgeybo coming from, I don't know what is there but he may be able to give us some information on that area. Our second option is to follow the shore west, as far as I know none of us have been far west so we don't know what it holds, if it does hold anything that is. Our last option is to go north over the desert, this option I personally don't recommend. There is a danger of getting lost easier mid desert we also don't have an option to follow a simple path. I personally recommend we go either north east or west along the shore (North east if Georgeybo has found somewhere of use) or if it was a bust we may want to go west. So let us decide as a group which way we want to go." Waking up from his rest he notices Tatsuo with some milk. He quickly gets up and goes over to him "Wait! Spyshadow After being out patrolling for so long and not noticing any danger he decides to head back to the others. He knows that he needs to conserve energy and that he can't go too much longer without a small amount of rest. For this he tells the others that he is going to get a small rest and asks politely that someone else guard the area for a while and to wake him if anything happens. He puts the sword he took on patrol back and lays down his head for a small rest. After being out patrolling for so long and not noticing any danger he decides to head back to the others. Spyshadow Whilst out on patrol he looks across the water at where the ship went down. He looks up and judges that by the time that has passed anyone that has now not made it ashore won't. He bows his head in respect to all the passengers that didn't make it and vows to himself not let anyone else be killed. Whilst out on patrol he looks across the water at where the ship went down.
