Please don't take this as an insult, because my intent is only to cause as much of a lighthearted laugh as I had from its abruptness.
So best guess, what is everyone's guess as to what a "extra" is? ![]() So best guess, what is everyone's guess as to what a "extra" is? ![]() |

There's more than one type of game, and I wanna talk about it! Tell me what types of games you play!
Do you play tabletop games? Not your typical Uno, Monopoly, or Chess. I mean the bigger boxes, like Legendary, Betrayal at House on Haunted Hill, or the Arkham Horror Series, for example. Personally I have the base game plus all expansions of Munchkin Quest, I have Red Dragon Inn and a few expansions of that, and I just recently bought a game I'd been hunting for years: Elder Sign. Do you instead play a card game? Yu-gi-oh!, Pokemon, Magic: the Gathering? What decks do you play? What format is your favorite and what would you say you are best at in that game? What is your favorite card/archetype? My answers: Yugioh: While I don't exactly play the meta, a deck I built years ago that still holds up quite strong is Trains. Night Express Night plus Heavy Freight Train Derricrane is a Turn One XYZ summon into a 3200 ATK beast that can't be touched! And if I had to pick a second favorite, Inzektors. Which were my original obsession as soon as I saw them. Idk why, just the mechanic of equipping monsters and then those monsters gaining new effects was cool to me. Same reason I have a fascination with Crystal Beasts, although I never made a Crystal Beast deck. But in the anime... Definitely rooting for about any Crystal Beast player lol. pokemon : I reduced my collection to just a singular deck, bases on three particular EX pokemon I pulled from packs, just because I wanted to try something new. So I have a Fighting/Water deck based Groudon, Keldeo, and Whalord. Plus I use a few normal types to pull Basic pokemon from the deck to keep my bench full for a few other heavy hitters in the deck. But I literally built it for fun, I don't know the meta in that game because none of my friends play it. I just have a deck to have a deck. Magic: Since this is what most of my friends all play, this is the game I put the most time into recently. At last count, I had 38 decks total, almost all Commander decks. Though two of those are Modern and one Pauper. I'm mainly a budget player but I used to always set money aside to purchase the pre-built Commander decks. Well, after about 15 of those plus various collecting over the years along with trades, there's quite a few decks in my collection that you'd never believe were budget. Especially when you face my pride and joy, a mono-blue control deck led by Azami who's entire thing is rushing out or Mind Over Matter so I can have perfect control over every action in the game. Apart from that, my favorite deck currently is Green/Black Golems led by Ich-Tekik and Armix. Favorite card would have to be Sensei's Divining Top. Cheap, easy draw manipulation. What else could any deck want? Do you play tabletop games? Not your typical Uno, Monopoly, or Chess. Idk what I wanted to say or ask, I really just wanted to gush about a cool game I've been addicted to for a month. Was absolutely free to download, you can play online with everyone else without Xbox Live of any kind, and it's just good fun.
As for details? It plays a lot like Diablo 2. But more flexible. My tank two-hander can side hustle in necromancy. My witch can pull out a bow. My rogue can AoE crowds with a hammer shockwave. Six different classes, and you can easily make multiple characters so you can try out every class. There are three difficulties. - Standard, which has no benefits or downsides. - Archnemesis League, which allows for various optional challenges to add difficulty Standard wouldn't have. No penalty for failing. - Hardcore Archnemesis, which is the same as Archnemesis League but if you die even once, your game changes permanently to Standard. I play on Archnemesis League. All the fun, none of the pressure. Look it up, it's really fun. But uh, quick warning. Don't slack in the tutorial area. The game does not baby you, and will kill your character if you mess around too long. Lol As for details? It plays a lot like Diablo 2. But more flexible. My best friend recently upgraded to an Xbox Series X and in exchange he decided to gift me two entire Xbox One's and a couple games. I was shocked, to say the least. Especially since it was so out of the blue when it happened.
What was the most "Wow, are they really giving me that?!" kinda gift you remember ever getting? What was the most "Wow, are they really giving me that?!" kinda gift you remember ever getting? |

Has anyone noticed this strange text string? I see it at the bottom of this page and if I access Vizzed through my phone I see it at the bottom of there too. It tends to only appear on the general overview of Vizzed Board but it occasionally pops up randomly elsewhere. Was just curious if it was intentional or supposed to be hidden.

SonicOlmstead : Yeah I'll be honest, I remember a good handful of people from here from years past but not everyone. If you wanna read about the bank... https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=39332. That was back in 2012 lol
geeogree : I mean, I don't remember what it was ABOUT, just that it happened lol. Glad you stuck around here, though. I'll try to be more active, but there's a lot going on often in my life be it work, the gf, or just friends or personal issues lol. But I never intended to just jump ship. geeogree : I mean, I don't remember what it was ABOUT, just that it happened lol. Glad you stuck around here, though. Dear all you users of Vizzed,
Hi, I'm Zeldisaster. 30 years old and originally joined back in 2010 when my gf at the time (dramabethie here) introduced me to the site as a way to play video games easy and free that would be hard to track down and buy in most cases otherwise. So I checked it out, ran out of my 5-or whatever it is-credits that guests get and I felt making an account wouldn't be too much of an issue. I also learned making a few posts would get me more of the site's currency and I did. And because of that, I didn't post much at first until one day I got curious why the rest of the site even existed lol. This was the first forum I'd ever joined. I didn't know how it could be seen as fun to just... talk. Anyway cut to about a year later and I ended up spending QUITE a percentage of my logged-in time just posting threads and replies on the forums. Eventually I stopped going to the Game Room entirely. After posting often in the forums, I became curious how others were able to make their posts have pictures and moving parts, even changing the color of the text or in Davideo's case, a parallax background (still one of the coolest things in my opinion) and after some digging I discovered that this site allowed users to use HTML to write code within their posts, and I used a site called I think w3schools to teach myself HTML. This was the first coding language (well, markup whatever) I ever learned, and after a few pointers from Jigsaw, even dabbled in CSS to really spice up my profile page (until I got too invested in it and the profile page messed up my code and it was safer to just I remember one of the first threads I posted on this site when I was finally confident enough to make a thread was an Ask Me Anything post. It didn't get much traction but what it DID was cause the mods to post almost-immediately after that "New rule: No AMA posts". Now it turns out mine was merely the straw that broke the camel's back but I still consider it a time when one of my posts was so impactful it changed the rules. But obviously this wasn't something that I can actually take credit for because it wasn't directly my doing. However... A post that WAS my doing that caused a site-wide ban on similar kinds of posts was actually my biggest creation (and biggest headache to everyone involved) ever on this site, in my opinion. The "Official" Vizzed Bank. All started when I was browsing the Vizzed Market section of the forum and really wanted to figure out something that had never been done before that the people on the site would want. Had the idea one day when I was bored, wrote up a Notepad about the rules and issues and spent literally HOURS if not days just trying to figure out how it'd all work. And it did at the time, and it was HUGE. You know you have something big when people start to copy you lol. Imitation is the highest form of flattery, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Problem was, it only worked because I had daily access to the internet. I was living in a trailor at the time that was shifting to new management. Well one of the first things the new managers did was remove the free hotspot I was using to log into Vizzed and be so active. And because... bank... having hundreds of thousands of Viz in your possession and suddenly ghosting uh... doesn't make you look good. Dozens of PMs sent to staff and me finally able to log into a library computer to give everyone their money back, a rule was implemented "No banks". I'm proud of the bank's creation, I'm not proud of its downfall. My biggest success and my biggest failure on this site. My best memory though? A much more simple one. So to preface: Vizzed had a chatroom on the site (Kinda like the blue bar that's at the bottom of the screen as I type this post) but the one I'm referring to would open a separate page that you'd then connect to the chatroom while Vizzed was actually open in the first tab. I believe you had to log in a second time to actually get IN to the room. But it was a chatroom all the most active people used. But anyway. I was on that chatroom often, late into every night before logging off and going to bed. One night, two, I think they were both Admins on the site at the time, ended up having this HUGE argument in the chatroom. Jigsaw and Geeogree. Both respected members in my opinion. But while people had bits and pieces of what they had caught, turns out I fell a I tried helping the site out more by applying to be Staff and was tasked with playing games in the RGR and writing reviews. Which was cool at the time for like a week or two but turns out I realized I wouldn't have been able to meet the demand that was befitting of my title so I asked to step down. Between that and my past contributions, that's why I've had an Elite role since then. But walk down memory lane aside, nowadays? I'm just working at the same call center I've been at for the last almost 8 years. Covid didn't affect my standing, it just made me work from home which, hey, saves on gas. And occasionally I'd still posted here from time to time, though my last real wave of posts was back in 2016. And with my life being sorta hectic right now due to home issues, I can't promise I'll post as often as I used to in my hayday, not even close. But hopefully you'll see my threads or posts around the site more often as time passes. I tend to speak my mind, so I don't care if I'm liked. But if you'll speak yours, you'll have my respect instantly. Thank you for reading, user. I hope you're enjoying Vizzed as much as I did, and still do. Ok so first, WOAH WAIT WHAT??? Randy's IN the video?!?! I had always thought Randy was basically banned or you hated him or something. I only ever heard horror stories about him. Man, what a shock to see him in a remembrance video.
Also, nice face reveal, David. You're much younger than I always thought you were. I want to write the rest of my thoughts here, but you'll see them in my return thread that I'm writing as soon as I'm done with this post. Lol Also, nice face reveal, David. And I remember PMing you a few times myself, but by now you've likely written those off to time. Not like either of us even remember what they were about lol. Man, I miss this place. Last big thing I did here was the V-Bank which was a HUGE fiasco when the trailerpark I used to live at removed their internet hotspot which was how I had internet for the longest time. Funny enough, I live in a place with constant internet now. My job is online! Sigh... I should make a real return thread and jump back into things one of these days. I don't intend to leave everyone in the dark. I still drop by every now and then, and check up on development. I just don't usually log in. But I want to change that soon. I miss this place too much. |

On3On : So let me get this straight, and please correct me if I'm wrong. In your mind, people (furries in this instance, but any interpersonal group can apply) should stay away from places with a mixed and varied audience and instead stay locked into their own niche hangouts?
Because I, a non-furry, am trying to learn about furries. Maybe not to join, but simply to learn. And NOT being part of those niche communities, it's difficult for me to track down those who are serious about their interests. Especially in a way that won't be immediately shunned or rejected on the basis that I'm an outsider. People who adamantly reject a group's existence are creating a rift between that niche and us. It happened with nerds before, and it's happening with furries now. And all that does is create more interest in a community that's harboring more hatred, eventually spreading that hatred farther than it needs to go. Streisand effect, anyone? It's gotten to the point where even though I have a friend who is a furry, he doesn't often talk to me because he thinks I'm one of "them". The ones who reject furries just for liking what they like, which I think is unproductive. Why segregate for no reason? He's always so scared to open up that he simply shuts down whenever I try. Please, explain in -your- words what you actually meant. Because currently, it seems like if you're a furry, you're a hate-filled one. And if you're an outsider like me, you're a stubborn one. pennylessz : Psychologically, I might have an answer to your question. On average... it's because they themselves don't actually want to be straight.
Hear me out. You brought up Gay Conversion Therapy, which is another version of what I'm talking about. The brain enjoys what it's experienced to enjoy, and it doesn't enjoy what it hasn't enjoyed in the past. So when an outside force is telling you (for example a religious parent) that being gay is wrong, your brain understands the difference between: - A trusted figure telling you that behavior is negative, and - Your brain's actual lived experience of enjoying it. The standard psychological compromise is "I still want to do this, just not in a way in which they'll find out." Interestingly enough, this might also be how behaviors like kleptomania and rape-interest develop as well. At least, there's an argument for it. Think about it. If you enjoy playing a certain video game, and your friend says "No that game sucks" then you'll typically just ignore that friend, right? After all, YOU enjoyed it. Who cares if they don't enjoy it? The best you'll do is just not mention it to them and not play it around them. But that doesn't mean you stop playing the game. Same thing here. Pressure can come from every direction and from every person around you, but if your brain developed to enjoy one type of genitals over the other, then you'll only get aroused by THOSE. No matter what outside factors are telling you that's not ok. I laugh just imagining a guy having sex with a girl, repeatedly failing to climax while shouting "Why am I not attracted to you?" but, like, he's the one who keeps trying. Hear me out. ZeroTails : Yeah when I typed them I figured it sounded contradictory. I'm basically referring to two different things but using similar wording. "Likes and dislikes" being the actual entities that create dopamine flooding in your brain. And "Preferences" being the general leanings you turn towards as a blanket answer to certain situations. I'll use food to explain this, as I'm currently hungry lol.
I like pizza. A lot. The reason I like pizza has to do with how my brain translated the different stimuli I had received across many years, as is the case with many people's specific likes. As a child in a poor family, Marco's and Little Caesar's were relatively easy to get, it was plentiful enough that it was an entire meal with one purchase, and didn't taste immediately disgusting to my mother and father. So, whenever extra money came around, and they wanted to "treat" their kids, pizza was a popular-enough choice among the other schoolchildren that we interacted with in public school, and it was cheap enough to my parents, that it was presented to me at first in a very favorable light by many different people. My brain learned that pizza = a good thing. My current situation (adult and poor because it's hard to be a good adult) shows me that pizza, as it was during childhood, is relatively easy to acquire when there's a few bucks of extra money, and it creates more than a single meal by itself. And it doesn't taste terrible. So I'll say to this day, my favorite food is pizza. Preferences are the leanings of curiosity. You can't teach your brain to be curious. Again, as far as the food analogy goes, I was taught about pizza at a young age, but I then realized everyone else was calling it Italian Food. Well, what OTHER Italian food is there, if pizza tastes good? So I searched and discovered. And it turns out, I don't enjoy the taste of that much Italian food. I only really enjoy pizza. But I don't prefer Italian food. I also like tacos, and I've experienced enough Mexican food that also tastes as good as tacos that I can honestly say I prefer most Mexican food over most Italian food. Put in the context of sex: I get aroused by women because I prefer women that are comfortable enough to be sexual around me. I find it a rare occurrence, most women I talk to are genuinely fun and interesting, and I want to eventually find one that I'm compatible-enough with to make our relationship lifelong. Men being sexual around me isn't comfortable to me because I haven't enjoyed the company of many men in my life to the point that I've ever formed an attraction even remotely sexual to him. So I can honestly say that I sexually prefer women as opposed to men. As for what my experiences have taught me to LIKE, that's the less descr Was that an arousing statement? Didn't think so. But that's the difficult-to-explain psychology of it. At least, that's some of it. My mind can only translate "curious about sex" to "sex is enjoyable" after experiencing it. It was learned. There's a difference between dopamine created by the idea of something, and dopamine created through the experience of something. Kinda like how one of most women's top fantasies is to be ravaged, but rape has a history of being undesired by almost every woman. Does this explanation make any sense to you? I hope it does. wytchcraft: What type of suit are you making? Like, what is it of? Also, I hear those are expensive. Exactly-ish how expensive are they to design? Hundreds? Thousands?
IgorBird122 : Sounds like you're on the more tame side of things. That's good, had my suspicion that a tame side might not have existed. But you brought up something that made me curious. You said you're not a "full-fledged furry". To you, what is full-fledged? Or even, whaat's the bar-to-entry, I guess? As in, how "furry" can someone be before they're "accepted" by these communities? (I say accepted since every time I ask my two friends to play DnD or Magic or even just talk to their furry friends, their response always steers to "Well, the REAL question is if they'd accept you?" without them even trying or asking that group. And it's all because I'm "one of the many".) Clearly the bar-to-entry isn't a suit, since you're part of these communities but you don't own a suit. Btw I realize this sounds like a stupid question. Now, before I start, I should point out that I myself am not a furry in any way. I don't find the practice offensive, mind you (with the exception of extreme behaviors), but I find myself tired of always being on the inside of society looking out to the outside people in their own personal cliques and I'm being forced to stay indoors because I don't belong. I'm tired of being part of the masses and only hearing about "those people" through the grapevine. And I'm not referring to furries in this sense. I'm referring to anyone in a collective group that's closed themselves off from openly talking about themselves because society shut them off. Gamers, furries, swingers, otakus, bronies, etc. If the "fandom" of a certain thing has a hardcore side that makes the rest of the fandom and collective society hate them because of it, I want to know the individual people that cause that side to exist. So today, I'm starting with furries...
I'm gonna simply speak openly here. Apologies to moderators if I'm breaking rules. I'll edit or remove whatever's necessary to stay par for the course. I have a couple friends who are furries (the two I'm referring to are both men and are actually in a relationship together, although I doubt that matters to the story. Just full disclosure for honesty). They're hardcore furries, as far as I can guess. Then again, I don't really talk to my friends about their intimacy, that's creepy to do. However, I had heard in the past that "being a furry" is not a sexual thing in origin. Except, I've tried talking about normal stuff to them, trying to get a little bit of background info on their stance on things relating to the "furry culture", and ultimately trying to learn as much as I can. However, with those two, "furry" seems directly synonymous with "fetish". I think to them, the two words are one in the same. Literally every conversation steers towards a sexual undertone in some way. Hopefully it's just how those two perceive things, maybe they're more "hardcore" than they like to admit and the majority of the furry community that interacts with each other are more tame. But there are times where talking to them makes the "Furry Community" seems to be simply a "Kink-Sharing Community". Is this the case with most furries, and nobody wants to admit to it? Or is there a more complex scenario going on and I'm just on the wrong end of the conversation? If you're a furry, are you part of the "Furry Community"? I keep using quotes because I'm aware communities aren't official things, and they're simply groups of like-minded people. There can be hundreds of different groups of people all doing different things all calling themselves the same "community". But to wrap up my current (spastic) train of thought: If you're a furry, and are part of a community, are you only open within that community? Or are the members of your family, friends, or members of your household aware that you're a furry and the community to you is just a friendly get-together? If this question doesn't make sense, I understand. I'm nervous. With my friends, I can't ever get very far in the conversations, so I doubt I'll get very far here either. But I'm still gonna try. If it sounds like I'm ignorant, it's because I am. And I don't want to be. Furthermore, would you be willing to share what your "fursona" looks like? Do you use your own name when you adopt that avatar, or does it have its own name? Did you draw it yourself, or did you hire someone to do it for you? Or did you just steal it from some site? If a public post is too much, feel free to PM me your reply instead. I honestly want to know, and it seems difficult to get the answers I'm digging for instead of the usual blanket "If you're asking why I'm a furry, I don't even know why myself". No, I'm not asking WHY you're a furry, I already know the psychology behind that. I'm asking why the COMMUNITY I keep hearing about does what they do. Maybe this is coming across clear, maybe it sounds like confused rambling. I understand why open discussion is difficult, especially factoring in that "I'm one of THEM", but I want to learn about these fandoms and why they share so many similarities even though nobody wants to admit that. Psychologically, the fandoms I mentioned earlier are all the exact same thing. The only thing that changes is the medium being talked about. If it's difficult to talk about openly, then how can anyone hope anything will change unless someone actively bridges the gap? I'm gonna simply speak openly here. At what point do you pull a shirt from your closet, about to put it on, take a double-take of it, and think "You know, this isn't really decent anymore to wear in public" and then think either "I should throw it away" or "I should donate it"?
For me, donation is never an issue. Because the only time I stop wearing clothes in public is when they stop serving their primary function: to keep that part of me warm and protected. So I throw it away at that point, because it's no good to anyone. Yes, this leads to me getting stares when I'm wearing a shirt riddled with moth holes or underwear with a hole under the elastic, or shorts that have a stain on them from 3 years ago. I even have a shirt where the only thing wrong with it is that the hem of the arm cuffs have separated and are only half-hanging on. So every time I wear the shirt, I have to thread my arms through the hanging loops so that the hem is around my arm properly and I get made fun of for that shirt all the time. But I'm not gonna cut off the cuff hem (since that causes the fabric to roll and that would be even more unsightly and uncomfortable). So I just deal with the stares. I don't mind. But I wait for the extreme cases. I'm certain there are some people who'll donate clothes as soon as a single pin-sized stain appears that detergent can't remove. How long do you keep your clothes?
