When you say you loaded the game did you actually play it?  I have the same problem with Panther on the C64 which I loved as a kid, but I cannot play it because the game was "cracked" and you have to press run/stop to get past the crack screen.  However esc just brings up the menu, and reassigning the run/stop button does not work!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
