Ghosts and goblins *blaagh* that's me spitting it out after saying it ok lets clear this stain off the cloth of um...humanity? Yeah humanity definitely humanity! Ok lets start

Graphics:6 the graphics are pretty innovative for the nes and the commodore the gbc upped it a little bit but still ive seen much worse *cough cough Atari Indiana Jones cough cough*look it up! Now lets get back on topic the graphics are pretty nice but I feel the designers got lazy I mean I have the guide guess what that troll boss on level 1 is called a unicorn! Why a unicorn I mean really if you really want a unicorn which I really wouldn't go with make a horse and put a horn on it if you don't then take the horn off or draw something over it to make it a helmet but just call it a troll and really the while were on naming guess what there is the devils and then theres Satan(or satans? Ill explain that later)the devils are those flying things that are nearly impossible to kill just call them freaking demons! gond!(Luther kills the gond!)but that's another story(the vanguard thing)but I think I'm done here but let me compliment the graphics one more time I can actually tell what is what(except the unicorn)but really good job guys!

sound is a 6 but your probably thinking there isn't much sound to talk about but that sometimes is a good thing I mean some do sound horribly (Atari Texas chainsaw massacre beeeeeeeeeep!)and some just have no variety it just loops over to the point where you cant wait for that moment of silence when it loops over and there is some where it forces you to sit through it because you have to listen for the GOD-DANG JASON ALARM!!! But still silence is bliss...and boring so thatswhyitsa 6

addictiveness is definitely a 10! I mean really you want to finish it so you can say I beat ghosts and goblins!sorta like Mario or castlevania wait a second hmmm  castlevania...oh yeah there almost the exact same freaking game  but castlevania is actually good! ive been giving this game more praise then it deserves but you really have to give it something but its so addicting a little less the second time around (ill explain that later) but really that was the only reason I finished (that and I bet my brother 20 bucks I could finish it I got a good game with that much money)really the reason the video game crash happened was because Nintendo sent out so many crappy games *cough cough Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde oh man I'm gonna be sick) now after I finished throwing up the unliscensed games were the most horrible or the most foreign *little red hood and bible games* so this game would actually be hgg guhh averaagge oh god that was hard to utter oh god! But really you will either finish this or rage quit I'm serious I had to force myself not to quit I rage quit on thps2 because I bail on a huge trick but really there is unlimited continues its like bugs bunny's birthday bash you have nearly infinite lives so you cant quit unless you want someone to say you rage quitted that is all.

ok after that I was at 500 words I know right I had to ramble alot like I am right now ok after splashing cold water in my face because its like 2 in the morning

right that was like a break to add some words but story is a 2 apparently your in a grave yard screwing your girlfriend when the devil oh alright Satan takes her away no really that's what it looks like. I'm serious! Play the game and you'll know what I'm talking about that's about it here

depth okay this was where I was tearing my hair out I give it a 5 I would have given it a ten with 6 DIFFERENT stages but they had these words this room is a illusion made by the devil go through it again so this is the scene its 6 pm ive been playing for 4 hours with my brothers bet I have to turn it off at 8 so I think I made it and that comes up my god I was steaming I made it with 13 minutes to spare and you know what it says you are happy end you feel brave proceed to start! What! Either that or it was a different game I'm to tired to remember but it is pretty diverse so 5

ok the difficulty hmmm ive been ranting about it so how about a... UMM 10!!! ive already said enough about this just one more thing I hate going through platforms!

overall its a 5.2 but its a classic that will live in all of our hearts this isn't the best review but its all original so yeah bye!

Super Mario brothers 3 is a classic in time it is a great game with simple controls so lets break it down
overall this game is a 9.2  for graphics I would say a 8 the graphics were really innovative for the time sounds a 8 the music gets annoying but again it throws new stuff in your face all the time and its again innovative addictiveness?A easy 10! If this was a arcade game (which it may be) then the arcade would be rich story is poor maybe a 4 there barely is a story your a plumber rescuing a princess from a giant turtle!WHAT!  depth is a 10 I mean there are 8 worlds with different stages and games within them! They even based the 1998 film the wizard loosely around it the wizard is a movie where theirs this kid whos good at Nintendo games so hes entered into a Nintendo tournament which they show us something we have never seen before: super Mario bros. 3 then they made a tournamentthats like the one in the movie with the cartridge Nintendo world championships but that's a different story. Well on worlds my favorite is where ever things big. Difficulty 10 again if this was a arcade game which it might be then you would be out of tokens let me tell you. Here is the game itself

He'd eaten mushrooms to grow in size. He'd picked flowers to throw balls of flame. And just when you thought Mario's powers couldn't get any weirder, along came his tail – a raccoon's tail that made him fly. Wagging his ringed rear end must have worked, because Super Mario Bros. 3 flew off the shelves. Arriving in American stores for the first time in February 1990, Mario's third adventure was Nintendo's first Megaton release. It sold millions in its first year, and has gone on to become the best-selling non-bundled video game of all time. Now, as the superstar, Koopa-stomping plumber once again arrives on store shelves in an all-new adventure that's guaranteed to become a best-seller itself, should you spend the time and the 500 Wii Points required to add to the lifetime sales total of this past NES adventure? The answer, absolutely, is yes.
In Super Mario Bros. 3, Bowser has become a father. His seven children, the Koopa Kids, have invaded the lands neighboring the Mushroom Kingdom – attacking their castles and casting spells on their kings (who have been transformed into animals). It's up to Mario and Luigi to travel through these worlds, teach the Koopas a lesson, and reclaim the magic wands that have the power to reverse the transformation curse.
It's an epic undertaking, especially from the NES era – and it's a blast to play every step of the way. The gameplay of Super Mario Bros. 3 is built on the foundation of Shigeru Miyamoto's original side-scrolling, platforming design, but it's expanded in every aspect. Venturing through levels is more open than ever, with no restriction put on exploration. Map screens are introduced to give players a choice of where to go next, including non-action locations like Toad's Item House and card-matching mini-games. A reserved item menu is even available, letting gamers save key power-ups to use later on.

one that has the bad too

The Good

Varied platformer that introduced all sorts of aspects that future games would copy   Still feels fresh and fun   Graphics and audio are old, yes, but oozing with likeable charm   Plenty of levels and plenty of ways to go through them, so you never get bored   500 points is a steal for one of the best games ever made.

The Bad

Lacks the extra levels and audiovisual upgrades from the SNES and GBA remakes.

"Mario! Mario! Mario!" was the chant echoed by a legion of people in the TV advertisements for Super Mario Bros. 3 that aired leading up to its original release in 1990. At the end of that famous commercial, the camera flies skyward to reveal the population of North America grouped together in color-coordinated outfits to create a visage of Mario spanning the entire continent. Looking back, that ad was a deft summary of the anticipation that had built up prior to the game's release, as well as an accurate predictor of the praise it would receive once people got their hot little handss on that grey NES cartridge. In Super Mario Bros. 3, Nintendo promised and delivered one of the best 2D platformers of all time. Now, this genuine milestone in the history of video games is available once again; this time as a download for the Wii's Virtual Console ser

here is another review

"Simply the best Super Mario on the NES...period!"
As one of the final Super Mario Brothers games to be released to the Nintendo Entertainment System, it merely gave way to the future of what the Super Mario franchise was going to become. Placing you in an extremely large world with new boss characters, new stages and new powers, there are hardly other side scrolling action games that can defeat the pure scope and accomplishment that this title has to offer! Back in control of Mario, you must travel through eight different worlds in an attempt to rescue the Princess from the clutches of the Evil Bowser. Although the story line for this game is extremely old, you’ll find that it is a definite pace change and return to the original format of run and bop action, but throwing in enough variation on the different powers available to Mario through the use of caps. Innovations and ideas abound throughout Super Mario Brothers 3, you’ll find that if you’re a Mario fan, a Nintendo buff or even a gamer who just likes some quality gaming, then you’ll find that all of the available boss characters, stages and even the intricate mini-games that are featured throughout, really show the pinnacle of Super Mario on the NES!

The game play Super Mario Brothers 3 is just what you would expect from a Super Mario game. The game play in Super Mario Brothers is side scrolling action, in which you control either Mario {1 player game} or Luigi {2 player game} through several worlds of enemy bumping madness. The simplicity of the game at this time did not require you to do anything more than bash monsters, collect power up items and make it from one end of the stage to the other before the timer ran out! Through your adventures in these stages, you’ll find different power ups that will help you to attain your goal of defeating Bowser and rescuing the Princess from his clutches. But, instead of just chasing around mushrooms and fire flowers as your power ups, you’re introduced to the Suit system that allows you to transform Mario into one of several different forms, all of which with their own special powers. This only makes the game much more challenging in order to complete, because with some of these suits, you need them to get through a couple of the different worlds, as they make life easier on you! In addition to this, you have the ability to keep power ups in a sliding bar that can be used before you actually enter into one of the many different stages, which will give you the upper hand when used correctly. To make matters better than this, you’ll find that there are several different mini-games that you can compete in to win different suits that can be stored before you move onto other stages, which effectively gives you hours upon hours of game play time! Boss characters are found at the ends of every stage, and you’ll find that unlike the previous Super Mario games, you’re now introduced to the children of the evil Bowser, all of which take a certain strategy to defeat so that you can continue on to the next world.

Control in Super Mario is something that needs to be practiced in later stages. While not the most difficult game that you’ll even play, there are instances where you need to have precision timing and patience to get through some of the more intricate jumping places! One of the most difficult areas in the game, and the point where you will see just how the control reacts, is in the fourth world, where there are small platforms that you absolutely must hit, or you’ll fall to your doom. In these places, you’ll find that the NES control doesn’t make much use of the directional pad, and timing is everything. The first instances of Ghost Control in NES games can be found in this point, in which the controller just isn’t as responsive as you may need it to be later on in the game! On top of all of this, you’ll have to learn how to use the different suit effects, because they all do something a little different and require you to learn a slightly different control set than what you’re used to. With the P meter, you’ll find that flying is nothing more than building it up, and then flying through the air, which is actually a shadowed shade of Super Mario World!

Detail upon detail is what you’ll receive here in Super Mario Brothers 3, and you’ll find it around just about every single corner. From the sandy deserts to the oversized worlds that you’ll encounter, there is always something flashy to look at, and the game is presented with the top visual quality in mind! Never once did I run into any sort of visual break-up and everything from the character designs, to the different bosses that you face off against all seem to have a personality and style all their own. You’ll find that each world is a little different in some cases, while remaining extremely unique in others, truly showing off what a visually improved game can be! You’ll also find that in later stages, the movement that you need to keep up with in order to continue on is rival to what you’ll find in Super Mario World for the SNES, again, more of the fore-shadowing of what was to come in the future.

Audio wise, the game features some of the most impressive music found in a Super Mario game, but you’ll find that nothing beats out the overall production of Super Mario 2 in this respect. Each world has it’s own theme and pace that really keeps you going along with the action, and it’s refreshing as well as comforting to know that there is nothing extremely different to the game! The sound effects haven’t been changed too much, save for adding a couple of different sound effects that come in with the different suits and enemies. Other than that, you’ll find that there is plenty here that is both new and yet it stays familiar at the same time, keeping the theme of the overall game to a light and airy tone. I haven’t found a spot in the game yet where you have to hit the mute button, and that is a rather good point in my book when it comes to older NES games that really have never featured the greatest music.

Super Mario Brothers 3 marks the end of a series and the beginning of something so much larger on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. While keeping true to form and not adding a ton of useless features, Super Mario Brothers 3 keeps the light and airy theme while giving gamers of all ages a game that is well worth playing, even years later! With decent control, new concepts and several expansive stages as well as the induction of mini-games to add to the fun, there is literally hours upon hours of game play that can be found throughout. If you add into this that the game features a save system, you'll also find that the comfort of being able to play at your own leisure is back and with a game that has plenty to offer. Worthy of anyone’s NES game collection, there is very little here that can be griped about and this game is truly worthy of the perfect rating.
