I firmly believe there is some kind of life out there in space, judging by the sheer number of stars in our galaxy, and galaxies in the universe. The thing is we probably wouldn't even recognize it as life if we saw it.

Terrestrial animals all have common features because they have common ancestors somewhere in their family tree. Alien life has no relations to them, and it evolved in completely different environment, meaning that we should forget about heads, hands, teeth, lungs and brains, and instead we should accept that we literally won't be able to imagine an actual alien until we see one ourselves. No Xenomorphs, no Klingons, not even alien slug-anemones, just something beyond our imagination, like the color beyond the visible spectrum.

Something that irks me about sci-fi media is using terms like "alien animal" or "alien plant" or even worse "mammalian alien". Those groups came to be after million of years of evolution on Earth. There are many groups with diverse cell structure on Earth. Viruses don't even have cells, and they originated from Earth.
Why would aliens have exactly the same cell structure as us? They don't need to be composed of cells as we understand them, they don't need to contain DNA or any carbon based (organic) compound. I won't get so far as to say they aren't made out of matter (although dark matter aliens are an interesting concept, and antimatter beings would make sense, just not in our galaxy/universe). I'm just saying the rules life out there may be completely different.

What is not different is physics. While we wouldn't be able to comprehend alien technology at first, it wouldn't be anything humanity wouldn't be able to achieve (unless it requires some extremely scarce resources). Aliens still can't travel faster than light without messing with space time, and can't create energy from nothing. Spaceships would actually be much simpler than their crew, which we wouldn't be able to communicate with anyway.

But I still don't believe aliens have ever visited Earth. We would either know for sure, or we'd be all dead and the Earth cracked open and picked clean of minerals.

I'm pretty sure most scientists support the asteroid theory. A meteor hit the Earth, clouds of dust formed, temperatures fell, plants died, food chains were broken, ecosystems collapsed.

The climate change after the impact was too fast for any significant evolutionary shenanigans. Plants, needing light and being sensitive to temperature, went down first, then large herbivores that needed those plants, and large carnivores soon after. Small dinosaurs probably survived longer, feeding on small, though plants or small mammals and reptiles, but it wasn't enough to get them through the event.

Birds might have survived because they could eat seeds. Considering how birds with reptilian teeth went extinct around the same time as dinosaurs, this may not be as silly as it sounds. Basically, seeds weren't able to sprout, so they were of no use to herbivorous non-avian dinosaurs. Small birds could just pick them up and crush them with their beaks, tapping into a new source of nutrition.

Mammals could burrow, swim, eat whatever, sleep wherever. Being small and rat-like was a big asset in a post-apocalyptic world. Well, mammals changed only very slightly from late Triassic to late Cretaceous, so if any design was going to succeed, it was this one.

Hibernation wasn't the main problem, since animals couldn't wait so long anyway, even hibernated. Can't sleep for 1 000 000 years, sorry.

If non-avian dinosaurs existed now, they would be mostly becoming extinct anyway. Ceratopsids would be hunted (illegally) for their horns, large carnivores would have been all exterminated by now for killing sheep, sauropods would be killed for trampling farm plots. Our civilizations evolved in a world without dinosaurs, and there is no way we could coexist.
And if we look at it realistically, without K-T extinction, we wouldn't even exist. There could be a species of intelligent birds just sitting here and writing about the extinction of pseudosuchians, and the Triassic-Jurassic extinction.

So there is this problem: every time I try to play Pokémon Fire Red Omega, it just refuses to load. It's stuck at "...your game is loading...", and one hour wait is apparently not enough for it to load.
I tried using different emulators and browsers, reinstalling plugins, restarting, and nothing happened. Could anyone tell me what went wrong? It used to work just fine, and suddenly nothing. I refuse to believe this can't be fixed.

One of the best games I've ever played. Awkward AI, very 2001 graphics, annoying voice acting (at least in the Polish version) and it's still much better than most modern games. I remember burning all people in Nemesis's last village just to overtake it with one missionary. Good times. And accidentally smashing my villages with a rock while trying to make an artefact. And discovering that my creature devours my workers while I'm not looking. Good times.

Creature Isle was disappointing, to be honest. I like the idea, but it could have been made better. Some challenges were really hard, but it was because of the creature's AI that couldn't handle tasks more complicated than walking in straight line. A straight line on a completely flat terrain. In the turtle race I've managed to shrink my creature to cheat the same way as the turtle, but my chicken refused to go the way I wanted it to go. I enjoyed playing that game, but I wouldn't call it a masterpiece.

Black & White 2 had awesome graphics but not much more. People weren't impressed by a god throwing fireballs at them, so you had to make an army to be evil. The problem is that you never had enough men to form a squad, because people were growing up much too slowly. The only way to get more people fast was accepting migrants, which means getting a huge boost to good alignment. Basically you had to be good in order to win. What's more, the creature was completely useless. B&W2 expansion was completely forgettable.

I don't think we will see Black & White 3 soon. Maybe after they finish working on Fable CDXX they will consider making a B&W themed IOS app that would be a facebookish money-cow (like Dungeon Keeper) or Kinectimals clone for Micro$oft's spy machine (like Zoo Tycoon).

This game's low quality is legendary to the point it's no longer compared to Pokemon Quartz. It's completely new level of terrible. Playing it is NOT enjoyable in any way and Pokemon fans, RPG fans, video games fans... people should stay away from this abomination.

Graphics: 3
It may look good at the beginning, and by beginning I mean before you get to see your choice of starters. I'm glad they didn't change the tileset, because if they did, there would be no time for my eyes to stop bleeding. The pokemon look like something drawn by a blindfolded 3 year-old with parkinsons. Some of them may look better than the others, but the first ones you see are the most hideous things ever created. Trainers' sprites aren't that bad except for the police. I know the romhacker was an edgy teenager in the "disregard the constabulary" phase but for God's sake, why did they make police officers look like gnomes, if they showed us that they can edit existing sprites well enough!

Addictiveness: 1
Geography. Topaz region is the worst place to be in. Seriously guys, how many times in your life have you seen a labyrinth made of trees, rocks and ledges on a road between two towns? In this game they're everywhere and they are there only to make your life miserable. You can't play it with speed button, because of ledges and playing without it would take years.
The other thing that makes me want to forget about this hack is quality of sprites. I'm not going to talk about it again.

Story: 2
Team Rocket member saves the world after incompetent policemen wakes a legendary dragon. It's like Pokemon Ruby but more edgy. Our protagonist is an unlikable douchebag, just like all the characters in this game. The best way to play is to forget about the plot, because reading makes the suffering last longer.

Depth: 3
Like Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire. Why 3 then? It tries to look bigger by adding stupid mazes, underground passages and unnecessarily long, empty paths. This is just how hacks are NOT supposed to be made.

Is that all? Of course not! Do you know that glitch where you take control of an NPC after exiting start menu? It happens all the time here. I had to reset several times because I got stuck in a gym in notLavaridge. In notRusturf tunnel, there is a place where you can jump out of a ledge into a wall. The worst part is that you can't walk in any direction and you must either use escape rope or get your pokemon fainted. I didn't have any ropes, my pokemon were over 10 levels above local wildlife and I accidentally saved when I was taking a screenshot. It took me half an hour to struggle out.

This game is able to break the bravest of men. It makes Pokemon Leaf Reborn look acceptable (or at leas less tedious). It's a crime against romhacking. It makes honey go sour. It's bad. Seriously, don't play it if you don't have to.

My first was a spearow in LeafGreen, but then my save state got erased somehow. Then came a pidgey in some unfinished Spanish hack of FireRed and then a rattata in Shiny Gold X. There was also a shiny graveler that exploded right after I encountered it (it was HeartGold I believe).
In my nuzlocking career I caught Harry, a shiny drowzee, who managed to die in his first battle and Ruth, the shiny graveler (Silver and Crystal respectively).
Of course there were a red gyarados from 2nd gen games and a shiny dratini from Benga but they don't count.

When I started playing this game, I thought it was one of many terrible hacks on this site. I was genuinely surprised with what I saw. This isn't really a hack but a fix that makes this game even more enjoyable for a solo player: national dex from the start (I think), no trade evolution, no US and Japan exclusive events (actually no events at all; It's emulated after all).
I don't really know how to rate it 'cause I'm not rating FireRed here and there aren't that many changes: graphics, sound and plot are the same and only few new maps are added... wait a second! New maps? It calls for:

Graphics: 7
The new maps look great but sorta empty (especially Mew's island in Bill's machine). Can't say much more about them.

Addictiveness: 8
I rated addictiveness from nuzlocker's point of view. FireRed is easily nuzlockable but suffers from version exclusivity and trade evolutionness (Yeah, these are real diseases, I'm a specialist). Ultra Violet doesn't have this problem. It certainly is more pleasant to nuzlocke than the original.
Story: 4The only thing the creator of this hack messed up. Sevii islands got replaced with some meaningless island that is there only so you can catch non-Kanto pokemon. There was part of the plot on Sevii islands for crying out loud! The areas on the island aren't even properly labeled! There is no pokemon center! It has no purpose at that point of the game! And to get there you have to talk to some random girl! Why not use the Sevii islands boat script if there are no Sevii islands in this game! It makes no sense!
So yeah, if you ignore that nameless island, this game deserves a solid 8,5. Nuzlocking it was fun unlike some other hacks I played (inb4 you can stop if you don't like a game. My honor wouldn't let me do it, OK?).
It's well done, it's fun, it's nuzlockable, it's 8,5/10.

I'm not gonna lie, this hack is bad. It has features that no hack created should have:
"Lv.1 blast burn" - Pokemon on first routes shouldn't know much more than tackle/scratch/pound and some non-damaging move; eevee in viridian forest know doom desire and dive.
"I can't so I won't" - this thing all the way. The romhacker didn't know how to give player a national dex or how to make mew and deoxys obey, so non-kanto Pok?mon don't evolve and mew and deoxys don't obey. If you can't hack, how about not publishing your first attempts?
"I like this Pokemon. It will be broken" - I hate when people do this one. All the starters (real) are normal, unchanged Pokemon, while charmander has water absorb and someone told me that it also have altered movepool. Also eevee and skarmory (who is a starter, and zangoose is normal). It's clearly visible what the romhacker's favourite Pokemon are.
"One mon'd route" - treecko field? Latias field? This is just embarrassing. Have there been routes like these in legit games? No, and it was for a reason.
"Y'all need legendaries" - the first route is filled with these, there are two routes ("beginner's legends" and "legend bridge") which only have legendaries, and latias field."Zekrom lv.9 or under" - gengars and tyranitars before you get your first badge.
"I'll make it easy for ya" - free revives, almost free pokeballs.
"I'll make it easy for YA" - Trainers' teams are unchanged. I heard that E4's teams are different. I haven't finished this game, but I'm sure they (and Brock/Steven) are the only ones. It must be hard beating all those bug trainers with your tyranitar!
I might have missed something, but I gave 8 reasons why this game shouldn't be played. These are not just tiny errors, they're unforgivable! I can't believe there are people who enjoy playing this abomination. It's really not worth your time, reader.

How would I call this hack? Unbalanced, unfinished, unoriginal, un... Ok, let's start this.

of all, I don't think it's actually finished. I mean, nothing is
changed but the first two routes and gym leaders. I don't see any note
about this game being a beta version so I assume the hacker just got
lazy and left it like this. Second thing, this game is glitchy as hell!
Wally encountered a ralts but because it's a starter it was overpowered
and knocked zigzagoon out. Wally sent bad egg and things got weird. What
was the author thinking? They knew Wally would be fighting ralts and
they failed to foresee what could happen? What's this thing with
ridiculously powerful starters anyway? [sarcasm] It's not like games are
supposed to be challenging! Oh, wait! It's balanced, because you can't
win your first battle with poochyena if you choose ralts![/sarcasm]. If
they could give ralts sacred fire, then why not pound?
Have I
mentioned that only the first three routes and towns are changed? They
actually look pretty well, but most of the players want to play for
longer than 5 minutes.
Let's go back to balance for a while, ok? What
pokemon do you expect to meet on the first two routes? Rattata? Starly?
Are you insane? Tauros, miltank and kangaskhan are the only reasonable
answers! 'Course you can meet the basic ones, but they aren't any less
common than these mentioned before. Oh, and the Petalburg woods also
have changed pokemon, even though it looks exactly the same as in normal
games, but the route before is completely untouched. Why would
you catch a ziggy or lotad when you can have kangaskhans, politoeds and
scyther already (not to mention that your starter is broken)?
I could as well...

I must admit that the new grass looks nice, although I'm sure I've seen it in some well known, much better but still bad hack. I don't think anything else is changed.

Sound - 5
Nothing changed

Addictiveness - 3
Most of us expected something new, not an exact copy of pokemon ruby, but with OP spheal that makes it even easier.

Story - 2
Universal type stuff... I don't like this idea, but what is much worse, there was nothing about it in game. Beating up Team Magma again *sigh*

Depth - 2
I could rate it 8, but I'm not gonna rate Pokemon Ruby. I think I'm more generous than I should for nothing.

Difficulty - 4
Ralts starts with psychic, rock head aron learns volt tackle, middle- to end-game pokemon at the very start. It's only hard if you nuzlocke it blind. If you know about hax leaders, you can plow through the game with your earthquaking aron.

Overall - 3,8
It's not Cheetahmen, but it's not worth playing.
