I've been playing this game for over an hour now and have yet to be able to catch a single Pokémon. In my mind that presents a serious flaw. It's fantastic to have the ability to catch all of the start Pokémon from every series up to this point, but it does absolutely no good if, after 20 odd poke balls, you can't catch a single one. It didn't matter how low I had them on HP (I had a bulbasaur down to 1 hp, no defense after using my tailwhip, no accuracy after using my sand-attack) a regular poke ball would not catch them (which is all you have available to you to start out with). I am not positive if I'm the only person to have this issue or if it was reported multiple times? On top of that I discovered that EVERY SINGLE Pokémon you face is male. I'm not sure if that was done intentionally or not, but it does make it difficult if you decide to breed your Pokémon later on in the game, it also makes for a difficult immersion effect into the story. Some folks may not be bothered by genderless or gender-specific things, but if I am going to get involved in a Role playing Game I would like to be able to fully immerse myself in the experience. I also ran into the ???????? Pokémon glitch. It appeared to be limited to a grass patch that was added inside of Oakdale Town and I didn't get that error on any of the other paths around there. Graphics: 8 I took away a few points because of the ???????? Pokémon glitch as that is sort of a graphic issue and sort of a depth issue perhaps? But because this is a hack/homebrew of a pre-existing game I didn't feel that the rating system is all that fair to use with the exception of the overall rating. Sound: 10 Who doesn't love the classic Pokémon 8-bit sound system? Addictiveness: 4 I have to rate this low because if I can't catch a Pokémon at the beginning, what is the point of even playing? The eevee gimmick is fantastic, but it only goes so far. Story: There doesn't seem to be any difference in the story from the original game other than you can choose an eeveelution as a starter Pokémon. It would have been really neat to see something like Pokémon Yellow but with an Eevee that you can choose to evolve into whatever eeveelution you wanted. Depth: Unrated simply because I don't think it's fair to rate a copy of a standing game. It didn't have much in the way added to it other than impossible to catch starter Pokémon. Difficulty: 10 I give it the highest rating because it is awful hard to play Pokémon without actually having more than 1 Pokémon. I'm not entirely certain why there was an issue there, but I was definitely having a severe problem. Overall: 6 After thinking everything over rather carefully I don't think I could give this homebrew over a 6. I do see that the author has already If I saw those fixes, I would gladly give this game a much higher rating and my vote for the homebrew contest. I also ran into the ???????? Pokémon glitch. I'd certainly have to say that I'm sorely disappointed in the way Cartoon Network sold out to be just like the other kids TV stations. When I was a kid I looked forward to spending my time watching cartoons and depended on CN to be playing the good ones. When I see the crap my sister is watching nowadays it really bothers me. Not only did CN sell out ... so did all the old style cartoons. No more Looney Toons, Animaniacs, or any other 'classic' style cartoon now. Frankly, some of the stuff they play on TV shocks me, especially knowing the younger generation are into that garbage. It's like true animation went out the window for a lot of these simplistic stick figure animations. I vividly remember loving the heck out of this series. I played it all the time when I got to spend a weekend at my Dad's house. I wish I had a computer that could play it ... most of those older games don't run well on the newer operating systems. I also remember it going a bit crazy by the end. I think it went from being that 'build an empire' style game to an RPG style. I could be wrong, but that sounds familiar. I stopped liking it because of that, though. Perhaps I was just misdirected, I was pretty young at the time. I also remember it going a bit crazy by the end. I think it went from being that 'build an empire' style game to an RPG style. Having been one of those children that drifted away from what my parents believe, I certainly wouldn't mind my kids taking the same path. I grew up in a Catholic household, living with my Grandparents on my Mom's side. I used to attend church just about every Sunday and even went through conformation and got baptized at one point. As I grew up, I began to question Faith and grew away from the church. Because of my upbringing and my own, personal, beliefs, I decided to use a philosophy of tolerance. I will help to guide my children as best as I can, teaching them about multiple religions, rather than just growing up in X household (as both my wife and I are more Agnostic at best). I will encourage them to go to church with their Grandparents and Great Grandparents so that they can have a positive experience with Religion. In this regard, I am hoping to let them make their own, informed, decision about what they would like to worship in the future. I've always done my best, in life, to be tolerant of others beliefs and preferences. It's definitely a lesson I'd like to instill in my children as I feel it will promote a happier world for them as they grow up. When I first saw that a few months back I was beyond appalled. Not only is the message done in a distasteful manner, but they litter the game with 'chests' that feature horribly abused animals after each battle. I certainly can't condone the way PETA went about assaulting Pokémon (though I can't stand PETA anyway ...). They usually have a decent point to start with but then they go way overboard with their protests. There are better ways to make a point, I think. I'd suggest playing the game through, though, if you are able to stomach it. I think it's better to be aware of what exactly is being talked about rather than to post hearsay (not that anyone has done that so far). Velociraptor family all the way ![]() Out of that family ... probably the Deinonychus (or at least it used to be ... ). Really been a long time since I've looked into Dinosaurs, haha. Otherwise I'd have to say the Leopluradon come in as a close second. ![]() Out of that family ... probably the Deinonychus (or at least it used to be ... ). Techno/Trance Remix of 'Tainted Love' by Depeche Mode. This song always seem to crawl under my skin and make me go totally wild, haha. Not really sure why, but it's a lot of fun. |

First played Pokémon ... maybe a year after it came out? I started playing before Yellow came out but after Red/Blue. Looking through the release dates, I was probably about 9 years old when they came out. I picked up Blue first, then Yellow, then I got both Gold and Silver and a friend gave me Crystal. I dropped off for a while after that, but eventually got Ruby and then years later picked up Pearl. Definitely not happy with the way the game has morphed over the years ... a lot of the newer Pokémon have become ... I don't know ... unoriginal? Not sure how to put that. Up through Crystal for sure and probably even Emerald I absolutely adored the series. You can tell they are playing off of the franchise and riding some of their fame now. Not having watched much of the series past the Cell incident ... Kamehameha was always my favorite. Absolute favorite Anime battle scene as a kid (being as I was the same age at the time) was Gohan decimating Cell with that attack. Full Metal Alchemist I watched Brotherhood from start to finish as well as a good portion of the original as well. I never really got into Bleach or Death Note though.... The story line and partial 'Steam Punk' universe of FMA is probably what drew me in the most as I have a thing for the Steam Punk genre in general. One of these days I'll have to give Death Note and Bleach another shot though, who knows, maybe they'll grow on me. Good question! dragon111 : Yeah ... it was on one of those timed machines at a zoo, I believe. You grabbed the handlebars and held on while you held your breath. By the end of it I was totally light headed and fidgeting. It was a neat accomplishment though! |

Gourmet Pizza ... (Restaurant or Papa Murphy's) ... The wife and I throw on Canadian Bacon, Feta Cheese, and Chicken on a white sauce base. Stuffed crust is awesome, but hard to find anywhere other than Pizza Hut and they are too greasy for my liking. Otherwise I tend to go with a thinner crust. (Grease and Red Sauce give me heart burn) Normal Pizza ... (Digiorno or store bought) ... I tend to get the meat lovers/meat trio pizza's. I like them best. Lately we have been getting the 4-pack of meat pizza's from Costco (Kirkland brand) and added on some sliced Canadian Bacon and crumbled Feta Cheese for extra flavor. Normal Pizza ... When I was truly into my game (a big RPG like Final Fantasy or DragonAge) I would forget to eat and drink altogether. If I was just hanging out with friends or being more laid back I'd drink soda (Mountain Dew and Pepsi or Dr. Pepper usually, but whatever was around the house worked) or Arizona tea. I never was a big eater though ... sometimes had some Doritos to munch on. Lately I've had a lot of Taco Bell, heh. |

Hey, welcome to the board! We are all new at some point (and I still am). This has certainly be a great place to check into all the old GBA and N64 games too if you have a controller. Good luck and I hope you enjoy the board as much as I have ![]() ![]() |

I'd been surfing Google for a good place to find free games to play online. A while back I'd found a decent place to play Pokémon games, but their save system never seemed to work (I actually gave up after making it quite a ways through Crystal only to have my save freeze and stop working). Vizzed just so happened to be one of the places that popped up. At first, I wasn't sure what to make of the place. Now ... I'm quite happy I decided to sign up. Vizzed is well worth the investment and has a TON of content to offer. At first, I wasn't sure what to make of the place. Now ... I'm quite happy I decided to sign up.
