The idea for this game, I believe, came from the ending of the original game where if you plug in a second controller you can control the camera. It's also interesting that Nintendo originally was going to add it in with split screen instead of just one screen, but removed it because they thought that the N64 couldn't hold it. They were wrong, but it's fine. In terms of the actual game, there's not much different from the original, except the second player, Luigi. There's a difference from Mario and Luigi, other than looks. Luigi can jump higher, but has low traction. I like those little details that can change the entire game. So for that alone the game gets 8/10.

While it isn't the best Sonic 2 hack, it's still near the best! It's Sonic 2, with four new levels! With an interesting back story with the four levels, the levels being from the beta of Sonic 2, it's a longer version of Sonic 2! Because Sonic 2 was on the Sega Genesis it has great graphics. And, of course it's a Sonic game, so it has to have great music! GREAT MUSIC. Just saying. The story, meh. Spoiler alert! The four new levels are Dust Hill Zone, Wood Zone, Hidden Palace, which came back in Sonic 3 and Knuckles and finally Genocide City Zone, which turned into Metropolis Zone Act 3. Overall it's a great game, because it's still Sonic 2 with the beta levels!
